Plus I took in a pair of R.M. Willams Craftsman Boots for a more traditional heel and sole repair. Nick's resoled the Blundstone's with Vibram soles, including a chunky, seriously treaded winter set and the boots are now probably better than when I bought them. The R. M. Williams ones also look great. They can't perform absolute miracles, of course, so if you have small cuts in the leather they are permanent (though usually disguisable with a bit of polish or wax) but a bit of use is to be expected in a boot. P.S., I have no idea why my profile says San Francisco, as I live in Toronto and have never even been to that part of California.

Since then, this place became my go-to shoe repair shop. When I was looking to replace zippers for my boots, Shoe Therapy on Bay and Bloor gave me quote for $60 on EACH side (not the whole pair), Sole Survivor $50 each (better but not by that much), and another random place in North York I can't remember the name of said $45 each. I found this place by luck and the owner man said that he can do it for $35 each!! It was much cheaper than any other places so I took the offer. I know some will think it's not worth it, but I had that boots for three years, all after going through massive snow storms etc. It was def worth fixing. The owner did a fantastic job!! The zippers were as good as they were when I first got them :) I was at the shop today to drop some leather boots off to have the calves taken in, paid $40 for the pair. The lady in front of me had a pair that needs to be stretched and she was charged $30 for the pair. This place is far lot cheaper than any other shoe repairs I've been to and the owner man is really friendly and nice :) Highly recommended !!

I left confused and googled and you're NOT suppose to shine Nubuck or it's ruined! When I paid for my boots (you have to pay first during drop off) he saw my cash and said something about me having enough to pay for the purse repair and I said I'm cheap and need to think if I want to fix it. As if I have to give a reason and even so, how does he know I don't need to buy groceries, etc.???? My only previous issue which I thought was a fluke was that he glued other boots and it came off. Our shoes include a range of men/women shoes: Gucci loafers, Ferragamo loafers, Hermès sandals, Louboutin loafers, YSL Chelsea boots, Alexander Wang ankle boots and some other pairs of shoes. Most shoes are damaged at the bottom where the wood panel, leather bottoms or heels are wore out. One pair is more severe as the leather is detached from the sole. Vahid has done a fantastic job to give new life to the pair by patching some leather and reattaching the leather to the soles without much trace at all. Vahid is professional as he not only quickly identified the problems with each pair, he is also helpful in advising us how the shoes can be repaired and offering options for us to choose. Some shoes require new fully protected bottoms whereas some can last with just protected heels. Vahid chooses the best color to match the original shoes' bottom so that the layer is unnoticeable from the side. Overall we are very happy with Vahid's professional work!

I told them that they were given to me by my late mom and I am from out of town and I had to get them fixed. The store is now cleaner and tidier; the staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. In December, I took a beloved pair of boots to get the zipper AND the heel redone during a busy time, and the staff were apologetic about the wait, and made sure to communicate to me that it would take a longer time to complete before I agreed to the repair. The boots were returned to me (earlier than expected!), good as new (better than new, actually, as I liked that the new heels were Vibrams with grip), by a cheerful girl at the counter. The price came out to around $100, which was communicated to me at the onset, and that was the price that I paid. I have since dropped my SW for more repairs; I think I might have finally found someone to trust with my Loubs next time!

Prior to going to this store, I went to the shoe repair in the laneway between Metro and the Hot House Cafe on Front St. The owner at this store told me the cost would be $85 which would include $20 for polishing my boots. I said that I did a great job polishing my boots on my own, so could he deduct $20 from the cost and I'd forgo the polish job. This man refused so I went down the street to 10 Lower Jarvis St. (inside the Loblaws building) and am I happy that I did. Saved $50, got a complimentary shine and excellent service! The male staffer shoved a Hermes shoe in my face saying they do new/designer work. They also actually gossiped in Vietnamese in front of me ABOUT ME. Not knowing I am Vietnamese and understand them. I felt that was rude. They spoke about how much I spent on my shoes but why was I being so particular about prices. I was just not in a rush and browsing around to see how prices are. I didn't appreciate their behaviour so I just left. No need to give them my business as there are plenty of shoe repair shops with similar pricing.
