After countless hours of hiking and ecstatic dancing, my beloved pair of boots was very much in need of some tender, loving care. They were ripped from the sole in places, the leather was worn, and so were the heels (not just from walking but its decorative sides were damaged as well). I wasn't sure what Rob could do to fix these. But when I got my boots back exactly when promised they would be ready, I was blown away at how beautifully my boots have been brought back to life. They are pratically new! Rob truly has a craftsmanship gift in working with shoes, and I'm so happy I came to him for this special pair of boots. For the quality of the service, the prices are very reasonable. I truly felt like I received great value. I've been going to Rob for many years since he was at the Novelty Shoe Repair on Yonge Street. I am so happy he has stayed downtown, moving just down the street and around the corner on Toronto Street! Although the location has changed, his friendly, professional service has not. I love my shoes and as I do a lot of walking in them, once I find those elusive comfortable AND stylish shoes, I want to make them last as long as possible. I've always been happy with Rob's service and professional touch. When I bring my shoes in, no matter what state they're in when I drop them off, he's able to bring them back to life, looking just like new and at a reasonable price. I also had a pair that were new, but were not fitting properly and he took the time to try out a few different ideas, not satisfied with me leaving until they fit like a glove. I'm not sure why it took me so long to find this spot, but soooo happy I did. I dropped off 5 pairs of shoes with various fixes, some minor and one major. I basically needed a pair of sandals rebuilt. I love these sandals and worn them into the ground. I brought them in, and Robert was very honest with me about the cost and the time it would take. I was hopefully optimistic. Then I picked up ALL my shoes a few weeks later, and I was amazed ..truly. As I stood there and waited for my shoes, I saw Robert greet every customer with the same enthusiastic energy , regardless of what small or big fix, they were dropping off. I've been holding on to 7 pairs of shoes for 2 years because a) they didn't properly fit; b) I was afraid I'd be charged an arm and a leg; c) I have incredibly narrow feet; and d) I knew that one day I would find my shoe guardian angel. Then I received a tip to go check out this place, and so I did. Rob is a down-to-earth, friendly, and well-priced guy. He doesn't try to overcharge you. If you are not satisfied with the preliminary changes, he will amend them on the spot, and won't charge you for the extra time (minus any additional items like insoles). Amending shoes is expensive and having someone spend 1.5 hours in the shop with you to ensure it fits is like finding a gem. If you have a pair of shoes, go see him. Period. read more

Brought 2 pairs of boots there, suede light beige to be cleaned, and burgundy full length for reheeling and a clean. Rob told me it may take a couple weeks but received a call after a week. He did a fantastic job, especially cleaning the beige boots that looked like new with no evidence of a food stain across the boot and the laces. I wish I had taken pictures of the before so i could post it. I also brought a pair of shoes to be resoled and reheeled, he said that he could not repair them to a high standard and not to waste my money. This is what great customer service is all about. Rob is simply the best! I bought a pair of extremely expensive boots from the UK and was so disappointed when they would not zip over my calves. Rather than return them and have the hassle of getting the customs and Canadian tax refunded, I thought I would try a professional cobbler and was fortunate to find Rob's store in my neighbourhood. I was really nervous about having them stretched but Rob assured me that he could get them to fit without damaging the fine leather and he sure did deliver. I had been turned away from other shoe repair shops because 'there was nothing they could do', finally I was referred to Rob by another shoe shop downtown. I heard about Rob's business when I was shopping for tap shoes at Malabar. I was keen to find a good cobbler in my neigbourhood, and my old tap shoes, Blundstones, dress shoes and winter boots all needed repair. Rob did a great job with all the repairs, and got the work done in ONE day because I needed the tap shoes for some upcoming classes. He is reliable, professional and very friendly. I was searching for a shoe repair shop and stumbled across all the good reviews. I'm so glad I did! I have a pair of sandals that I love and had worn until they were pretty much beyond repair. Going to Rob was an amazing experience. Even though it took replacing almost every part of the sandals, he fixed them and managed to make them stronger than they were originally. I have a severe hammertoe and bunion, the pressure when wearing shoes and boots made the pain much worse restricting my mobility.
