I also asked him to reinforce my heels and requested it to be ready by the next day. Even better, he called me a few hours later and said it was all ready! My boots are now so comfortable and he replaced the heels instead of reinforcing them. He even cleaned my boots so they are shiny and newish looking! Wow! Thank you so much! And so reasonably priced too!

I was in despite need to get my calf length Ugg boots cleaned. After several attempts to clean my…read moreUggs with the Ugg care kit to get rid of horrifying layers of hardened salt stains and muck, I managed to make matter worse by washing off the color of my boots. So, I called Louis Shoe Repair to ask how much I would be charged to get my Uggs cleaned; I was told $35 for cleaning. I brought my boots in to the shop (tiny, cramped and smelt like chemicals) and the nice shoe repair man told me that my boots would be ready in two weeks. A week and a half later, I received a call notifying me that my boots were ready to be picked up. When I went to pick up the boots, they looked brand new! The stains were gone, the sheepskin exterior of the boot was brushed and soft, and the wool lining inside was napped and fluffy. Also, he fixed up tiny tears and re-dyed my boots so they would be one color. The only downfall is that he did not dye the boots to its true original color. My boots went from being a light camel color to medium tan. On the phone I was told that 'cleaning' was $35. Surprisingly, not only did he do a great cleaning job, he also stitched and glued tears, restored color, napped the outer sheepskin and wool lining on the inside, all for $35! I recommend Louis Shoe Repair, especially for Ugg boots.

Over the years, I've brought in so many pairs of designer shoes to have non-slip soles added, and every single time the work has been done perfectly. Not only is the craftsmanship excellent, but the people there are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They always take the time to help and make sure everything is done right. It's rare to find a place that combines such high-quality work with genuinely great customer service. After three decades of coming here, I can honestly say I wouldn't trust my designer shoes, handbags or belts anywhere else. If you are concerned they have taken care of my Chanel, Valentino & Gucci. They specialized in Designer items. Highly recommend!

The store is now cleaner and tidier; the staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. In December, I took a beloved pair of boots to get the zipper AND the heel redone during a busy time, and the staff were apologetic about the wait, and made sure to communicate to me that it would take a longer time to complete before I agreed to the repair. The boots were returned to me (earlier than expected!), good as new (better than new, actually, as I liked that the new heels were Vibrams with grip), by a cheerful girl at the counter. The price came out to around $100, which was communicated to me at the onset, and that was the price that I paid. I have since dropped my SW for more repairs; I think I might have finally found someone to trust with my Loubs next time!

I took in two pairs of…read moreBlundstone's (a winter pair and a regular pair) that had uppers in good shape but on which the heels and soles were very worn and which I had basically retired. Plus I took in a pair of R.M. Willams Craftsman Boots for a more traditional heel and sole repair. Nick's resoled the Blundstone's with Vibram soles, including a chunky, seriously treaded winter set and the boots are now probably better than when I bought them. The R. M. Williams ones also look great. They can't perform absolute miracles, of course, so if you have small cuts in the leather they are permanent (though usually disguisable with a bit of polish or wax) but a bit of use is to be expected in a boot. P.S., I have no idea why my profile says San Francisco, as I live in Toronto and have never even been to that part of California.

I was so impressed with Adria Shoe repair that I thought I would write a review. 1st repair trip I…read morehad 3 pairs of boots that needed some work. A pair of italian suede with fake wood wedge heels. the ''wood' was peeling off, the heel was worn down to the wood. Had almost written them off. Couldn't believe it when I came to pick everything up. Everything looked like new. When I got home and went to put them on I noticed he had jimmied some wire and tan tape to replace the pulls on the zippers that were missing. I hadn't asked for this because i hadn't noticed it. So I was pleasantly surprised. Ingenious. 2nd Repair trip Not surprisingly I went back with my daughter's relatively new $200 leather cougar boots that needed new heel lifts, stitching on the side and the suede trim on the top had come completely apart from the rest of the boot. My daughter thought 'irreparable' and again he salvaged them in a way that was not noticeable. At the same time he fixed a pair of my husbands boots. Of course I did have to wait for him to find my daughters boots which was a scary few minutes I have to say. But after I provided a sketch and one more hunt around he located them. My husbands boots were missing one aspect of the repair and he had to finish the stitching that took a minute more wait. but it was totally worth it and not expensive. 3rd repair trip Felt like we kept coming up with more challenging things for him. I sent my husband back with his vintage pair of x country boots that I honestly was too embarrassed to bring in. And also a bag I realized the brass grommets had come out of on one of the leather straps. I said to my husband it is ok, if they don't match what is there. I'll wear the broken side facing in. When my husband brought both those items back I honestly couldn't tell they were repaired until I studied them. new grommets same size and colour but less flat than the original. He added leather piece on inside so the repair is actually better than the original. It is a bit like going back in time to walk in this shop but I didn't find him unpleasant just hard of hearing and focused on the work and not the atmosphere. I would recommend taking a picture of the shoes boots before you leave them with him so he doesn't have trouble finding them when you get back. Also great neighbouring stores that make the trip even more worthwhile.

It looks like a graveyard for crappy shoes, however my mom told me to go and I trusted her opinion. All I asked him to do was clean them and replace the rubber that I had put on when I originally bought them. I went to pick them up 2 weeks after dropping them off. First, he couldn't even locate them in the shoe graveyard. Finally he located them after 5 minutes of digging around. When he showed them to me I almost fainted. He did remove the old rubber and replace it, however there was still mud caked onto the soles that he didn't bother removed. Also, he stained them black. They were originally bought a faded black and I loved them that way. Never asked him to stain them or polish them, just clean them. Lastly, he stained the original leather soles black. They were originally brown. When I confronted him about this he told me he would fix the heel, no extra charge (uh....) He then proceeded to buff them which then removed some of the stain but not all, and also roughed up the heels even more. I was NOT happy. I told him that I refused to pay the $40 that he wanted to charge me and so he grabbed my boots and went to the back of the shop and hid them, telling me he was keeping my boots unless I coughed up the money. I offered him $20 when I realized he was a stubborn crook and didn't care about me or what he'd done to my property. He still refused so I tried to take my boots and leave. He tackled me and tried to throw me against a glass case. He ripped the boots out of my hands almost ripping my nail off of my finger. I called the police and ended up getting my boots back. Long story short. If your shoes/boots are expensive don't take them here. This guy is old school and doesn't give a crap about quality. You're way better off taking them to Sole Survivor. Hopefully they will be able to salvage what this man did to my shoes, but not what he did to me.

My friend and I dropped off our shoes for store owner Vahid on a Wednesday. He had a customer at…read morethe time but was quick to assist us as soon as he was done. Our shoes include a range of men/women shoes: Gucci loafers, Ferragamo loafers, Hermès sandals, Louboutin loafers, YSL Chelsea boots, Alexander Wang ankle boots and some other pairs of shoes. Most shoes are damaged at the bottom where the wood panel, leather bottoms or heels are wore out. One pair is more severe as the leather is detached from the sole. Vahid has done a fantastic job to give new life to the pair by patching some leather and reattaching the leather to the soles without much trace at all. Vahid is professional as he not only quickly identified the problems with each pair, he is also helpful in advising us how the shoes can be repaired and offering options for us to choose. Some shoes require new fully protected bottoms whereas some can last with just protected heels. Vahid chooses the best color to match the original shoes' bottom so that the layer is unnoticeable from the side. Overall we are very happy with Vahid's professional work!
