Insurance won't allow refill until a week prior to running out so you are pretty much guaranteed to run out with this practice. Lord help you if those meds include blood pressure meds, heart meds, insulin, asthma meds, or thyroid medications. They tell you to contact the pharmacy to request refills but they even ignore the pharmacy requests. There should be a tracking system and penalty for hospital systems and providers that do not respond to requests made within 72 hours. That is 3 days folks. If you can't respond in 3 days then you have no business being in this business. We are talking about people's lives at risk.

I had only an appointment for one of my kids but the other wasn't feeling…read morewell either and he very happily examined the other one and wrote them both for prescriptions. The nice thing about the medical home is after seeing your provider you may walk into the waiting room and fill your prescriptions at the pharmacy that is in the office. Also if you have kids they have toys in the waiting room. My kids never seem to mind going and have fun playing while they wait. The waiting time for me has always been less than 10 minutes. My only complaint is sometimes appointments are a little difficult to get, but they do have after hours clinic which can be helpful.
