I've hired Peter White Plumbing on 3 occasions to do various plumbing work. They installed…read morebathroom fixtures and fixed minor leaks. Their prices are very high ($1,200 to change a shower head and faucet, plus fixing a leak in the water pipe leading to tub faucet). I won't be using their services again and would not recommend them for the following reasons. First, they are unreliable in that they are rarely available for urgent appointments and don't return calls for 2-3 days if at all. Second, the woman who answers the phone is consistently negative and rude. And third, the following situation: I hired them recently to check on a water main leak in my basement while I was of the country. I didn't hear back from them despite calling twice for an update. 6 days later my tenant called to tell me there was 6" of water in the basement and more was pouring in. The water company and fire department were on scene. I ended up having to hire an excavation team to replace the water main. This would have happened anyway but I probably could have avoided the 6" of water, mold and the displacement of my tenants if the plumber had actually checked the leak and advised me of the problem. To add insult to injury, I received a bill from Peter White for advising me (I never heard back from the with advice), along with an unauthorized repair to a tenant toilet. When I called Peter White to discuss the charges, the woman who I spoke with (Betty?) told me they would null the charge but that they wouldn't work with me again. I'm happy that I won't have to fight the charge but found this woman be to really abrasive and unpleasant. She informed me that they had many other happy customers and I should go elsewhere. No problem with that, any plumber that will allow a leak to fill my basement with water and then try to charge me for it doesn't deserve my business.

AT BEST YOU WILL HAVE AN INCOMPETENT TECHNICIAN SHOW UP HOURS LATE AND CHARGE EXORBITANT AMOUNTS OF MONEY -- $695 FOR SNAKING A CLOGGED DRAIN. Full story: We called to get a clog in our kitchen sink drain line snaked. They said someone would come within two hours, it ended up being about 4 hours. He was completely incompetent and proceeded to get his snake stuck in our pipe, presumably because he put it up the wrong segment (bear in mind that I (0 plumbing experience) had spent hours snaking before hand with no luck, but at least had the snake in the right pipe and didnt get it stuck). With no way to fix it, he had to leave it for the night but assured us he would contact his dispatcher and get a plumber over to fix it. The next day comes and we set up a plumber for around 1pm. At 6pm, another drain tech, unaware of our problem shows up. He has no idea what to do and facetimes a plumber to show him the situation. Or course, the snake remained stuck in the drain. After getting passed off and put on hold multiple times, phone calls getting unreturned for the whole day, I finally got to talk to someone in management who said that its just on us to fix the problem that they caused. No recourse, no discount on a plumbing service.

The tech said there was a piece broken and he'll try to fix it so sink will drain but can't promise and with that the charge is $720.00. Are you outta ur minds that's messed up, especially since he snaked the drain and just put back the P trap and another pipe that thread on that I took off to try and see what was going on. All he did was put it back together he didn't have to take it apart. I even used them before for outside issue last year! Plus he bent my pop up piece! Now I gotta stop my life again tomorrow for them to fix that! The tech was super nice but price for just that is ridiculous and this is not how I really wanted to say that. Cussing would be better! Never again! I'll shop around!

The initial consultation gave the appearance of professionalism and experience. I was told to purchase a delta or moen faucet (I did that). They came today after several attempts to secure a day and time for service. My husband was here while they worked. He says when they were done, the plumber turned the knobs and they checked for leaks. The hot water knob came completely off. As per their instructions, I purchased a moen faucet. The plumber HAD to have known the handle wasn't secure. As soon as I turned it on I could feel it wobbling. Something said pull it off. It pulled, right off. I immediately called Mike. I sent the photos. The best explanation was, " that's how the knows are. They come off". I said the cold water know is just fine. There was silence on the other end of the phone. I'm going to take this matter to American Home Shield and see how they handle it. So far both AHS and Dunham Plumbing get 1 star. My time and aggrevation have my blood pressure dangerously high .
