Absolutely the WORST company I ever had the misfortune of having to deal with! I bought a Maytag appliance and had a problem that needed serviced (the appliance was brand new -- shame on Maytag!). I called Home Depot, where I bought this refrigerator, and was told by the "manager" they would call Maytag because this was a warranty issue that Maytag needed to address. I NEVER heard anything for one week. When I called Home Depot back this manager said she tried "calling and calling but no one at Maytag would respond to her calls" (total bs). I asked for Maytag's number so I could call myself and lo and behold, on the first call I got through (again, this is why I knew this manager was full of total bs). Maytag gave me Coastland Appliance's number and said I needed to make an appointment through them. For over a week I called and left messages with no reply. Forget about "professionalism" concerning this company. And never once did this woman who does return calls (when she wants in her good 'ol slow time) answers the phone! Is this really a business or are these poeple working out of some home? Why don't they have normal working hours that you can call and actually have someone pick up the phone when you call? This woman insisted the earliest she could send a tech out was in about 3 weeks (for a LEAKING refrigerator?). She insisted they were "this busy" so I waited and waited and unfortunately I had to leave town and couldn;t keep this 3-wekk-out appointment. I told her this refrigerator was leaking water and I really needed someone to look at it "now". She said if someone was in my area they would call and if I just happened to be sitting on top of my phone, and if I just happened to answer it, they could stop by like what the heck kind of business was I dealing with? Just tell me someone would be in my area between 10am and noon on Saturday and I would make sure to be here but no, she couldn't do that. Sure enough I missed her call that they were in the area. She didn't call 1/2 hour BEFORE they were in the area, she called to say they were passing by my house and if I answered the phone they'd stop. Totally insane way to do business. And yet here I am, still needing service so when I returned ot my home I called Coastland Appliances and once again -- could not get anyone to answer their damn phone! Of course I left messages and yes, the woman did call me back a few times but each time I was on the phone with someone else and I could not take her call. So, I hang up, try to call Coastland and....NO ONE WILL PICK UP THE PHONE! What the hell is going on in that "office" (or again, isn't this a professional office that really has a person to answer their calls?). Maybe the "boss" doesn;t know what is oging on with his business? Maybe this is the boss' wife and she's too busy playing on Facebook to answer his phone? I don't know. I just know Maytag needs to not have any contracts with this shim-sham "company" if this is how they really do business because nobody should have to deal with unprofessional crap like this! read more
