I've been a member for years and I love banking with them. I've moved to two big cities and tried other banks and have stuck with Coast Hills. read more

Really quick and awesome service! I had a card issue and one of the staff members named Jacob was incredibly polite and understanding. I was practically in and out with everything solved in less than thirty minutes. Very welcoming environment as a whole, and I'd gladly return without hesitation next time I face any other technical problems! read more

I've been helping my Father move away from Lompoc and part of it was removing valuables from a safety deposit box, requesting two months of bank activity for purchase of a new home, and a wire transfer for money from the sale of the home in Lompoc. At every turn our efforts were thwarted by CHCU. They refused to allow my father to use the restroom while we were emptying the safety deposit box, which was the only time my father made that request in the almost 50 years of banking there. Dad requested two months of account activity that would include his name and account number, but all CHCU would send is a partial list with most of the account number hidden. When my Dad called to request a wire transfer to his new bank in a different state they wanted signed and notarized requests to have the transfer. Then they had to be sent by snail mail and could only be received before 12:30 in the afternoon or be kicked to the next day. The whole process would take a week to two weeks thus negating the purpose of a wire transfer. Dad had to write a check and wait 10 days because that was faster than CHCU wire transfer policy. This is one of the worst banking institutions I've ever dealt with and I'm glad I cancelled my account there decades ago. You should bank almost anywhere else. read more

Have always had amazing experiences coming into the village branch. Very prompt service as soon as I walk in the door. Everyone is very friendly and provides excellent service! read more

I am always impressed with the quality of member service I see when I walk into the Village office of the Credit Union. I am always acknowledged when I enter the door as is every other member who comes in, as we are assured someone will be right with us. The staff is always prompt, courteous and helpful, always ending the conversation after each transaction by asking if there is anything else they can do for me that day. It us a ple visiting this office. read more

I have been a member of this bank for 15 years and just recently decided ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, THEY'RE FIRED. This bank is so terrible for a number of reasons. The most recent atrocity they have committed is completely steam rolling an innocent organization/business by unlawfully taking control of and destroying over $15,000 of the organization's property. Then the bank told the organization it was their fault and refused to reimburse them for the bank's unlawful actions. This organization is currently pursuing legal action against this bank. This bank USED to be a great bank, back when it was Vandenberg FCU. Once it changed hands and became Coast Hills, everything went downhill in a hurry. Their lending options went from amazing to terrible, their customer service went from great to nonexistent. They even had to go so far as to install remote video teller stations in their locations, so you couldn't even talk to a person face to face about your accounts. RIDICULOUS. The last straw was when they pre approved us for a vehicle loan at a pre determined APR. They told us about their "no hassle" process of doing paperwork electronically and we asked them several times if there was anything we needed to take with us before we drive 4 hours away to view and purchase our vehicle. They repeatedly told us we didn't need anything else so we went, and then found out when we got there we did NOT have all the required information/documents/etc. What should have been a two hour process turned into a SIX HOUR PROCESS because this bank is TERRIBLE at their job. Not only that, after we bought the car and signed all the paperwork THE BANK RAISED THE APR ON US. Double dealing two faced snakes, the lot of them. AVOID AT ALL COSTS read more

TOTAL DISREGARD for the COMMUNITY and PERSONAL BUISNESS OWNERS. I'm part of a community of people who throw events. our venue we used to have events at was taken over by CoastHills. thousands of dollars of our equipment was not only thrown in the trash but also destroyed without notification to the owner of the equipment (who also had receipts for the equipment for proof of ownership). he kept in contact with CoastHills asking over and over when he could come retrieve the equipment to no avail. However, CoastHills would rather spend money to destroy art and equipment and haul it away instead of simply letting us come get it for free. if you run a small business owner and simply bank here, I would highly recommend you switch to a more community centered bank. read more

Less then stellar customer service, don't be late making a payment or you'll be forced to pay a 15 dollar convince fee since the app locks and won't let you make a payment. read more

the staff is so friendly! especially Alyssa. shy shy is ok jk she's great too but Michael really holds the place together

Untimely turnaround time when it comes to communication. Received communication a week later after leaving several voicemails. Hopefully better training in the future to acknowledge reciprocating on their end of communication. read more

If you are a small business, avoid this place with a passion. This establishment is focused on greed and will screw you over. Been banking here for years and the customer service has really gone down hill. The way they run business and handle your money is also irresponsible. Don't come here. You'll regret it and possibly lose your business. read more

If i could give zero stars, i would. Doesn't care about small businesses or their customers.

Rude and disrespectful. Have no respect for small businesses or local people anymore. Have no desire to invigorate or support the community that founded them. No longer a reliable local bank just another greedy and money hungry business now. Took advantage of local small business-that doesn't bank with coast hills but has had to deal with them now due to them attempting to remove the businesses property from a rented space that was repossessed by coast hills instead of giving renters proper notice and time to remove their belongings, choose to continually disregard renters communication attempts and flat out lie to said renters that they would let them into the property as soon as they "could". Renter had to rely on tips from local community members to learn that Coast Hills was deceiving the renter and was paying laborers to destroy the renters property(some of which was HANDMADE large scale ART!!! Aka IRREPLACEABLE). Renter had made multiple attempts to set up a removal date and would have removed all of their property for free. coast hills is literally run by a bunch of idiots now you have paid laborers hundreds of dollars for multiple weeks of demolition work for what someone would have done for free and in less then a few days. Obviously this bank is not smart with money if they would choose to spend hundreds of extra dollars on a job someone would have done FOR FREE. They also apparently enjoy destroying small businesses hard work and labor and enjoy lying and misleading the community and small business owners. If I was a business owner I would never bank with coast hills or fear they will take advantage of you too. read more

People of the community have been trying real hard to keep "The Ranch" open and running so we can have a safe place to have music shows where we wont disturb anyone. The place has been having trouble for a Long time. We have been trying our hardest to keep the place active and bring as much money in as we can, trying to keep them open. Storing all our equipment and art at the place because it was hard to move around. Then comes along this greedy selfish bank, closes The Ranch, then tells us that we should have gotten our stuff out before they closed the doors. I am sorry we were not able, when things go this way its not that easy, but you could have VERY EASILY given those things back --- instead you throw it all in a dumpster and haul it away... leaving the artists, owners, and community in tears... This is some of the most disrespectful thing you could do to the people who have been trying our hardest to make sure you got as much money as you could. You do not deserve to be a company, really ridiculous that you pull this shit. You do not deserve customers and I will continue to spread this knowledge until you stop acting like selfish greedy pricks who care about nothing but their bottom line! read more

CoastHills Credit Union - This is where the bank wants us. - Banks & Credit Unions Near Me - Lompoc, California

GREED AND DISREGARD FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY - Coast hills repossessed a business where I had a lot of my personal equipment stored for our local community, I contacted them to get it back and gave them receipts and pictures of my equipment. Most of which was engraved and labeled with my logo. They told me I could get it and kept postponing for over a month until I got a tip from someone that they had been there for 3 weeks destroying our equipment and throwing it into dumpsters.... After I went down there and caught them doing it... They claimed they had no liability for my personal property and that they didn't 'reimburse' people whose property they damaged. All of the employees I talked to were very rude and directed me to talk to their lawyer who is continuing to claim they are not liable.... In my opinion, they intentionally threw my property away because it was easier for them to do that than deal with setting up a time for us to get it... and they thought that I couldn't prove that they did it and it wasn't taken by someone else.... fortunately I have pictures of it actually happening and now I have to deal with a long court trial to try and recuperate my losses... read more

On oct. 1, with essentially no warning, their checking account rates, which used to be free if you had $10,000 in the bank, will be $5.95/month -- $72/yr. For that you get some personal i.d. protection, blah, blah. There is no-opt out except to go to their other checking plan which is also fee-based. About three years ago, when my bank started raising fees and instituting charges, I said, enough of this. I went through the considerable trouble of having my bill pays and direct deposits go to CoastHills -- glad it was a credit union and not a bank. Since then I've watched it slide as its computer system screwed up every time they tried to expand. It seems they don't have their "members" in mind. Certainly not when fees jump from zero to $6/mo. They know how "sticky" their clientele is (i.e., what a pain it is to change financial instituions) but I may have to do it again. read more

After being a member since 2006, with two car loans and never a missed credit card payment, Coast Hills C.U. announced they were raising my 7.9% interest rate to 11.9%. I had NEVER missed a payment or had credit issues. A letter to the credit manager went unresponded. I was told by the branch manager to re-apply for their credit card???????After 8 years??? This stinks. I am transferring my balance and will stop using my card effective immediately. read more

applied for a refi, told to expect 45 days for processing the paperwork. Seems they meant that after loan approval, which was never in question from the beginning, that they would BEGIN processing the paperwork. OK, they are SLOW 90 days was required to complete the process. But, never once did they voluntarily contact us. We had to call and call and call, and were told, just a couple of more days every time for 2 months.. The customer service, divided among 3 people in the mortgage dep't was absolutely horrible. No one in the mortgage dep't seemed to care a bit about the customer.....bank among friends does not apply to the mortgage dep't. We had a car loan in less than 24 hours from an online application. Must ba a different division entirely. Local branch is great..... read more

Fraudulent "bait & switch"? Over the past couple of months I've been trying to login--never works, sometimes the on-line response says the system is unavailable & provides a lengthy (some 25 character) error code one can report. I've updated my password several times, never works... Unable to get one's statements, the unhelpful phone agent tries to sell you, $12 each, your monthly statements, which they'll then email. After going thru this over nearly two months (but not buying a statement, just spending a lot of time on the phone getting numbers checked) I again called in & argued with an agent who finally relented and told me that Coast Hills deactivated my on-line account...and if I wanted that restored I'd have to generate an entirely new account (new login identity, etc.) with another support staff person available only during normal business hours. THEY KNEW THEY DEACTIVATED MY ONLINE ACCOUNT FOR NEARLY TWO MONTHS, DIDN'T INFORM ME, AND THEN TRIED TO USE THIS SECRETLY CONTRIVED SITUATION TO BILL ME FOR STATEMENTS THEY'RE LEGALLY REQUIRED TO MAKE AVAILABLE FREE. read more

I had missed a late credit card payment because I was in-between jobs and needed to be shipped a new ATM debit card as well. With this in mind, they decided to send my new debit card 3 weeks later, and hold a block on it without informing me at all. Therefore, they will hold your debit until you make the payment on your credit card. I called customer service and had a rude experience with the operator being she expected me to know all this. So I am switching to another bank. read more

Very fast service--when??? When there is a line out the door and only two tellers working? Not only did I get poor service, but after banking with them for nearly 6 years, they still insisted on putting a hold on my paychecks. I switched banks and am very happy with that decision. read more
