The lady working the shop is very sweet and opened up the second shop for us to browse around in (if she's working alone, she'll switch up her location based on where the customer wants to look.) Many of her treasures are ocean inspired and perfect little souvenir reminders of your trip to Bodega Bay. My purchases included a vintgage design starfish keychain, a seagull patterned scarf and a silver octopus wall hanging that I used to display jewelry. One thing I find frustrating about a lot of gift shops in 2026 is that they all seem to carry exactly the same trinkets, presumably mass-produced internationally and then stamped with local names. Having worked in and visited so many parks over the past few years, I can't help but notice how uniform and un-original the souvenirs are becoming. So, it is really refreshing to step into a gift shop that has an eclectic, unique, fun selection of reasonably-priced gifts that you would be unlikely to find anywhere else. While the merchandise at Harbor View Gifts was not necessarily bougie or locally made, it was definitely different from what you would find in Every State Park. The cashier who helped me was very friendly. As a bonus, this gift shop is located literally right on the edge of the bay. The parking lot could double as a great picnic spot. I ended up leaving with a Bodega Bay squid magnet and a small bag of taffy, which I assume was from the little taffy shop in the parking lot. The taffy alone would have been worth the stop, since it was as good as the taffy from my favorite taffy place, Candy Heaven in Sacramento.

The closest description I could settle on would be a gallery - and to be honest it's a very small one. The space is set up a bit like a tea room that also sells art, including a few pieces of jewelry and stonewares but it feels like the owners wanted a garden and like to collect Japanese art, so they created the store as a way to offset the cost, versus creating a market-driven store. All in all, if you're in the area it's certainly worth a stop (especially if the garden is open) but otherwise I'd don't think it's worth a special trip.

I like that the furniture I've purchased was made with thick, sturdy, heavy wood. It doesn't feel like the cheap mass-produced pieces you'll find in chain stores. You need to spend time visiting on more than one occasion because their inventory changes often. So if you don't see what you like the first time, I would suggest popping back in from time to time. You might just find that one signature item that makes a lovely statement in the room you're decorating. There have been times when I did not purchase an item simply because they had it overpriced, but that's their prerogative and I respect how they do business. I suppose one could try haggling but that's not my style. I am simply grateful that they put such passion into selecting and offering so many beautiful items for sale. Candy & Kites is a small kite shop that also sells salt water taffy from barrels in the front…read more My biggest neutral is that while their taffy is wrapped, it's sold by the piece (not in a plastic bag) so it felt slightly unhygienic when I saw how pet friendly they were. Although the honey and I did end up choosing a few flavors of taffy, everything we bought was either too salty or so tacky I was worried I would break a tooth so I threw everything out when we got home. At the end of the day, if you're here to buy a kite the Candy & Kites shop is probably for you, but otherwise I would definitely skip them.
