A $13,000.00 mistake... Nice people, but they sell bottom…read moreof the line product. The floors were junk from the start with the thinnest veneer layer and the thinnest wear layer on the market. They came out to replace several boards that were cracked, but the poor quality has gaps larger than any other flooring I have seen and the edges are bright as the veneer is so thin it doesn't color the beveled edges. The installers were nice, but were working with junk, and the company is only as good as the product. After they left one foot of the dishwasher on the sub floor and the other on the wood I had them come back out to fix it as they were also fixing other boards and trying to color in the flaws and damage to the floor with a black stain marker. I removed the dishwasher and they added more floor to level it out but unfortunately the old valve leaked and despite drying up the water the larger gaps in this flooring allowed it to spread and it in very little time ruined over 80 square feet of flooring. so never let an ice cube melt or it will cost you dearly. Best option might be to find a company that is more concerned with quality and can better guide the customer. The only reason they get two stars is the fact they are nice and were willing to try but in the end we are left holding the bag... the empty bag of money and now have to turn our lives upside down again to move furniture, remove floors, replace the upstairs sub floor, and put in a quality product. I have asked for the owners to contact me so I can cancel the carpets in the rest of the house that we have already paid for but not yet scheduled. I am sick to my stomach over wasting $13,000.00 and a lot of time. Bottom line, buyer beware and find a company that offers better quality. I only posted a few pics.

I had used this company for a whole house remodel : floors, painting, electrical etc over $20,000…read moreworth. So naturally I used them again when I purchased a condo in Mt Pleasant. Very nice initial estimate. Paid the required one half. Was quoted install in one day?! I was surprised and said sure. It took 3 days which I didn't mind. Ran into an issue that they needed extra to float bathroom floors . No problem paid on the spot. Finished the 2 days after the expected finish time. Came home installer was rushing and it showed. Poor corner cuts on existing door jams. They left me with no extra flooring to cover the bare spots! Quarter round at the end during the installers race for the finish looked horrible. Had a planned visit to FL for 4 days came home and really inspected the work. Both toilets in both bathrooms were a wobbly mess! Mind you I paid the extra to float the floors!! Called and left 2 messages with the project manager... he never called me back. Called my plumber and he removed and inspected both toilets and they would never sit flush because flanges were 2 inches above said floated floor!! It was going to cost to have floors re floated and flanges cut down. Called the project manager again 2 times.. no response! Finally had to just call the office and someone finally called me back!! The guy said he doesn't get paid to come out on a Saturday and had his installer come too. Guess what You are correct! We need to have someone come out to fix this! My problem being the installer knew and left me like that!! Someone else might be ok with rocking toilets etc that eventually would cause water leaks and need to replace whole floor.. beware! Unless you call diligently you will not get a solution! Oh and by the way I had to pay extra to have the problem fixed!! When it should have NEVER been left like that to begin with!! Do your homework! Would not recommend!!

This is was a big project to remove a wall to open up our downstairs, completely renovate the kitchen, pull up and install new floors, and paint the entire house. The project finished exactly on time. The price was reasonable. This was a once in a lifetime reno, and we could not be more happy with the quality of the work, the end result, and the overall experience. We use our kitchen every single day (all day!), and it is functional and beautiful. There is nothing I would change about it. All parties involved should be recognized, from design services to project management and to each of the contractors: Cabinet guys, countertop guys, floor installers, painting team. All did really quality work. I haven't hung up pictures yet because it's so nice having beautifully painted walls!! It's worth pointing out that we could not afford to vacate our home while this was going on, so we (my husband, me, our 5 year old son, and 12 year old dog!) lived in the house for 5 weeks without a kitchen, floors, etc. I know our living there and needing some place to sleep, etc. had to be factored in to the overall organization and scheduling, and I'm sure it made the project more complicated. This didn't seem to faze anyone! This is also why we appreciate that the project finished exactly on schedule. Thank you Jack, Jackie, Gina and the entire team!!

We purchased our Charleston home in July of 2021. Before doing so, I asked Salt Marsh Contracting…read moreto look the property over and give me a rough estimate of what it would cost to complete the scope of renovations I had in mind. I also asked if they could get me into the house by the beginning of February 2022 (it was a significant renovation project - completely new kitchen from the studs out, 4 new bathrooms (including relocating 1 of the baths), new flooring, new electrical, new plumbing etc.). After purchasing the house, Salt Marsh prepared a detailed project budget that was remarkably near the amount that they provided as a rough estimate. Work began in early September. We moved in during the first week of February with a minimal punch list of items to be completed (mostly caused by supply chain issues). Most importantly, they have been diligent in working to clear the list. Working with our team from Salt Marsh could not have gone better. They are good at what they do, professional and well managed! This is our fourth major project (others were in New England) and I can honestly say that I have never enjoyed working with a contracting team as much as I have Salt Marsh Contracting. The process was as smooth and professional as you can ask for. It came in on budget (actually slightly under) and most importantly we couldn't be happier with the results! I am very confident that you will experience the same if you hire them to do your project. Paul Chapdelaine Charleston SC

We hired them when we purchased our house this August and learned that we needed a lot of structural work, help with wood rot, electrical and a bunch of other things both inside & outside of the house. Its not easy working with a 100 + year old house but they were so knowledgeable I knew we were in good hands. They took time to sit down with us to review the scope of the work and give us an honest picture of the price and timeline we were looking at. They helped us figure out what projects were urgent and what could wait. I never felt that they were trying to take advantage of us but rather that they were great partners who truly had our best interest in mind. They are also very well respected in the community and I can tell their employees enjoy working for them. Their work was great and I would 100% call them for any future project.
