Do not hire these guys! I want to save others from making the mistake we made by choosing these guys because they were cheaper than the competitors. Remember, you get what you pay for. Here's what happened to us:
This first list includes most of our issues:
- We had to have our carpets cleaned due to the all of the paint splatter
- We had to buy the supplies to finish the job they were unable to complete
- I had to leave work to help deal with firing them for the poor quality and snooping (Mike)
- We had to reschedule other appointments due to the unmet deadline
- We had to hire another painter (Paragon Painters (go with them)) to come back to fix the work that was poorly done
- They threatened to SUE US with a contractor lien as leverage because they knew we were trying to sell our house in the near future.
I have included a list of grievances below:
1) The agreed upon start time of the project was 7:30 am no one arrived at our home until after 8:30 am making me late to work that morning
2) We were under the impression that we would have two painters completing this work. When I arrived home at lunch Mike had still not arrived on the job it was only your partner Kelvin who had been here since the morning, which he confirmed to my husband. Mike was gone by the time I arrived home at 4:30. Meaning Mike could have been there no longer than 3.5 hours not the 6 that you claim. This was also confirmed by his partner Kelvin to both of us and our home security footage. Had two people had been working on the job then possibly it could have been done in time. Although that would not change the poor quality of work.
3) We were under the impression that we were hiring professional painters but the workmanship was extremely poor, there is paint on almost all of the trim, paint on portions of the ceiling where it should not be, and places where the paint was clearly not even. There is also paint on our carpet and some of our furniture. Paint was laid on so thick that some areas still have drop marks. The workmanship did not meet the standard of care a professional contractor should adhere to.
4) We were assured that this job would be completed in a day and a half at most given an 8 to 10 hour day that timeline was not met. I even attempted to help to ensure that everything would be complete by noon on the 2nd day.
5) Portions of the job were not completed in the outlined timeline. The 3rd floor ceiling and walls were not done and the drywall touchup by the thermostat that you agreed to fix was not completed or even started. This was a breach of our original agreement.
6) I spent almost an hour scraping paint splatter off of my floor, toilet, sink, and toilet paper holders. I was assured our home would be left clean which it was not, another breach. read more
