A Pershing/Persian is a doughnut that is similar to a cinnamon roll but is made with doughnut batter. Meijer has had a plethora of Persian varieties lately, with one of them going for a cookies and cream vibe. The surface of this pastry contains a whipped cream-like frosting with miniscule chocolate cookie pieces. Due to their small size, the crumbles don't add any texture but do add a faint chocolate flavor to the creamy topping. One mini-OREO cookie can be found within the topping as the finishing touch. The cinnamon flavor of the pastry's body is sweet and relatively subtle with no uncomfortable burning/heat to it. Cinnamon granules can be seen in the dough after taking a few bites if you look closely enough. I found the dough to have a nice thick and chewy texture while also being light and pillowy. Initially I had some trepidation as the topping did not appear very thick, which concerned me because the topping to pastry ratio would be way off. Although I still think it could have been a little thicker, the ratio was sufficient for the most part. My daughter was borderline crying because we were damp from a beach day and it felt like walking into a freezer, which made us expedite our trip. Got some vacation rental K-Cups, frozen pizza, breakfast and snack items and it was a nice, traditional, huge grocery store. The check out lines were understaffed in late July and took forever. My daughter would want me to add, how fun is if that they have a ton of those quarter-operated machines at the entrance/exit? She got gumballs and still talks about it with me. Definitely needed in this town and glad to have stumbled into it.

We found some great vynal records for only a $1 a piece. They have tons of "booths" sectioned off from different sellers just piled with little treasures and even have an upstairs. I would highly recommend coming through here if you appreciate antique and repurposed items. Need a new oar for your canoe or kayak? They have some made from repurposed wood. They've definitely got me hooked with their repurposed items and I need to come back when I have some money saved up. Can't wait until that day comes.

I spotted some halogen light bulbs that I've been paying $7 for from Amazon for (of course) just a buck. We're staying in a condo is South Haven so this has been a tremendous spot to stop in and get toys for the kids we want to last no more than a week, random cleaning supplies, party decorations, etc. Way better than Dollar General.
