Stoped to get couple things, end up getting a seater and a vest, they have signs all over the store with 40% off on winter apparel, once u get to register they would not honor the discounts because sweaters and Vests are not winter apparel, its not about the money but the way they mislead you thinking you will get a discount and once u pay they will say nope not today!!! read more

I've had several people tell me to try Coastal when Wilco couldn't sell me what I needed. The first time was when I was looking for hardware cloth. I called and explained what size I needed and why and they said they didn't have any that tall or that long. They also said they couldn't order any for me. How can a store be for farmers if they don't sell basic fencing essentials, like a fence good enough to keep gophers out of your garden, or predators out of your chickens? The second time I tried Coastal was when I was looking for Organic Chicken feed, any kind. They told me they had none, and that I should look elsewhere. What kind of store doesn't have at least one variety of Organic Chicken Feed? This place has a great reputation that doesn't match what it really offered me: nothing I needed. read more

I've spent lots of money at coastal over the years, and purchased a number of pieces of machinery and power tools. The service as far as that goes it's always great. This time the cashier behaved as that we were inconveniencing her by attempting to purchase a chainsaw. Her attitude cast negativity in the entire transaction. She scolded me over a raincheck!! The man that test-ran and presented the chainsaw to us was very professional, as was other staff that we encountered. Coastal Yakima--the cashiers are extremely rude and unprofessional, and it appears that the admin staff has trained them that way because they are no better. My employee came in to purchase something, but the cashier refused to let her (due to a note on our account about needing a specific "letter"). That particular letter is no longer required by our company. The employee called me and I could HEAR the cashier reprimanding my employee for not having this "letter". I asked who I needed to call to change the requirement (since I am in charge of procurement and vendors), and I was told to talk to someone else. When this woman got on the phone, she was rude to me as well! She kept saying "your account shows that your employees need a letter". I kept telling her that it is NO LONGER A VALID REQUIREMENT. She balked and pushed back and I told her I was the one responsible for the account and to CHANGE IT. Remember, I AM THE CUSTOMER...I can take the entire account away and move it to Grainger--Which I may do anyway....my employee was embarassed and humiliated. I went to the Taco Bell that was right next to this store and parked in what I thought was an empty parking lot for Taco Bell. Ate my dinner and all of a sudden I hear some kid over the loud speaker but I couldn't make out what he was announcing. Mind you there are no no parking signs anywhere to be seen ( it was dark) so I finished my dinner when again I hear this boy come on the loud speaker saying you in the car! Get off our property you are loitering we will call the cops if you don't leave! Leave now!! K so, here's my thoughts a) to whoever let this kid have control of the loudspeaker for your store, you may want to re think that and b) before you start threatening people maybe coming out and asking if everything is ok would be good.. considering you are representing a buisness that I will never contribute money to ever again and I WILL be telling my 35,000 followers on my social media platform about this experience I had tonight and I will be calling your district manager! Unprofessional, and vulgar! Do not shop here! What if someone was hurt or the car broke down? God forbid you park there! Shame on you!! I have been trying for ages to find good work shoes as I stand on concrete all day. I finally decided to check out this store. I'm certainly no 'country gal' so I had my doubts on what I'd find there. Much to my surprise, they had quite a few shoes and boots to select from. The young lady who initially helped me was very friendly and was happy to assist me. She works on the same kind of floor as I do, so she understood my dilemma. I found a pair of Reeboks that fit great and I'm looking forward to wearing them at work. Check out was fast, they had several cashiers at the ready. The lady who rang up my items wasn't what I'd call the most customer service friendly as she didn't say thank you, maybe it's just me. I cashier as well, and always thank my customers. Just went in to buy a bag of chicken food. Wasn't greeted entering the store. When I went up to the counter with my bag of chicken food, I wasn't even addressed, said HI to or anything. She told me how much it was and I handed her my money. She gave me the change and didn't even say thanks or anything..... NOTHING! I won't be going back. I've worked in customer service jobs for almost 30 years and my repeated spending of my $ is dependant upon the level of service I receive over time (I wouldn't ever judge a place off of one visit. I'd never been here before but I recently began rebuilding and converting a retired airport shuttle bus. Parts are expensive, so I'm always looking for a better price. So after my 1st visit today I had found $150+ of parts to purchase and was enthusiastic. I waited in line to pay for over 20 minutes, because there were only 2 checkers working. My experience with the checker was just like the other reviewers. It really sucked. Imo, though, bad attitudes and discontent trickles down, unlike the failed GOP economic plan has repeatedly since the horrible Reagan 80s decade. I blame the management/owners,/whoever collects the biggest check. Time to rethink management decisions. I won't be back until I hear things are changing. read more

I'm a big fan of coastal farm and ranch. Formerly Big R, The store is basically a general store. It has a great mix of work and western clothing, farm and pet supplies, and just about whatever else you need - except food. They also typically have some pets that your kids might have fun looking at. On this particular trip they had a case full of bunnies for sale. When I came in, it was looking for some herbicide, which they have a great selection of! While I was here, I also noticed thet have good prices on boots and pellets for my traeger. The regular prices are typically good, but you might be able to beat them if you search around.....if you can come while they have a clearance sale, prices are really good. I picked up a nice pair of Columbia snow boots last year for $20! I see a lot of reviews about rude staff, but I've never had any experience like this. Overall, this is a great store and I always enjoy my trips here! read more

Most of the employees seemed very helpful on my visits to this location...except when I checkout. The same dark haired girl at the register has been horrible, rude and extremely unhelpful in every way. Tonight took the cake though. I hate to write negative things but the fact that she is still an employee horrifies me. Even the people behind me in line had their jaws dropped. Do not purchase anything that may need serviced at any point after your purchase! I have been waiting for OVER THREE MONTHS for a simple repair on my fireplace, it's now spring and still not repaired. It started with lack of response and no follow through from anyone. Then they ordered the incorrect part, followed by two delays that were out of their control. Now, I was supposed to be the first service call of the day and have been waiting around only to have to call them and be told that no, in fact, he will be there when finished with the call before me. One of the most frustrating parts about the whole situation is no one takes responsibility for any of it, they constantly have someone else to blame for why it's not getting fixed. I am getting ready to build a new home and I can guarantee I will not even consider buying another fireplace or anything that could need a service call from them ever. read more

Came here boot shopping with my friend, who was feeling incredibly high maintenance to say the least. Had very specific, and annoying specifications of what he was looking for in a boot.
