A bank is a bank but this one is a little different. No tellers on front desk lady and a couple of offices. They all work together and get you out quickly. Every month they give you as a little extra (cannot remember why) but every cent counts especially now. read more

Absolutely terrible! If I could leave a zero rating I would! Branch on Glenwood Ave is the one I primarily used but not anymore. They are rude and unhelpful.They kept canceling my debit card because of fraud, but never let me know I would simply go to use the card and it would get declined. One I would only find out when I called them to see why my card wasn't working.And they were like" oh, there was a suspected fraud charge, so we canceled your card". This happened twice in about a year. I don't even know what the suspected fraud charge was.They just told me they saw something that looked like fraud but they would never tell me where it came from. read more

Have had a coastal account for more than 10 years, never taken a loan. I have credit in the 750+ range. I got married, and my wife came with some debt of her own, some of it high interest. I attempted to take a personal loan to consolidate the debt. I was denied because I recently changed jobs. I had 3 different jobs at the time and well met the income threshold. I have had consistent work for the past several years. No appeal process. It just sucked; they do not actually give a rip about me as a customer. The woman who applied for it on my behalf at the branch was kind and sympathetic, but whoever was on the other end of the line did not car; they probably run all things through the same formula, with much blockheaddedness. read more

I want to love my credit union, I had never had a problem with them until I was laid off drying the initial shutdown. I'm a service industry employee that was laid off. They took what little money I had left and applied it to my loan I have though them. They eventually allowed deferred payments to those effected by the pandemic. One year later they cancelled my debit card without notifying me causing me to bounce many transaction when I paid my monthly bills they gave me the returned check fees back but I was still screwed with late fees from the bills I paid. I got Covid again a few months ago as did my baby and I was out of work for a few weeks. It all caught up to me this month and when I called about deferring aunt ta they say it takes up to 72 hours. By that time they had already taken my ENTIRE paycheck for the month of April and applied it to my loan. I was left with 18 dollars and I don't get paid again until May 1st. They even took the payment that was due that day even though I have a few days to pay it before it's late. Now I have no gas money to get to work and back. I'm closing my checking account with them because even though I'm hardly ever late on my bills, I cannot let this happen again. read more

I am happy that I to be banking with Coastal. I had an issue with a fee for insufficient funds. I called customer service and happen to get a senior account manager who gladly removed the fee AND also told me about another fee I had incurred months earlier and he removed that one too. I was also able to make a credit card paymant while I was on the phone at the same time. I also received $250 as a company share distribution. Better than Chase is all I can say. read more

I drove 2 hours from Wilmington to close a deal on a car and sign papers, as soon as me and my daughter arrive she uses the restroom. I also needed to use the restroom, there only being 1 public restroom I ask to use the employee restroom since it wasn't in use. An employee goes in and out and closes the bathroom and tells me no. The employee at the front desk also tells me no. Reason being: "it's private". They did not take into consideration another humane being. They would have let a person who closed over 13 properties last year urinate himself in public over pride. read more

I've dealt with many banks in my lifetime, and I have to say I've never been happier with a place that holds my money that Coastal Federal. I had a 1% Car Loan here (paid off), a 3.5% Mortgage that I'm paying on, a Home Equity Line of Credit with a 5.25% Rate, FREE Checking and Checks which they actually pay me dividends on, a really low rate on my CFCU Visa, and get this... every year they deposit $300 in my Savings Account for Profit Sharing. The staff I've worked with are nice and friendly, for the most part. The Offices are clean and comfortable and offer upscale seating areas and refreshments. What is not to like?! The New Branch they just opened is in the White Oak Shopping Center near Target and Wendys. This branch features: Two drive up video tellers New video tellers offering faster service, particularly the check and cash acceptor functions 7am to 7pm teller service, 7 days a week Saturday full-service branch hours from 9am to 1pm As you can see I'm a happy CFCU customer, I recommend them to anyone. read more

I have been banking with Coastal since I was 8 and they offered a Looney Tunes Savings account and still love them to this day!! I've never had any problems with the customer service whether in person, through their drive up tellers, or even over the phone! They've always been super helpful and I love that they don't have monthly fees like other banks and every month I get APY Earned on all 4 of my accounts with them (including my 6 month CD and my Money Market account). Truly my favorite bank and I highly recommend them to everyone!! read more

Used to be an awesome bank when I joined in 2006. The app change is now an HTML5 webpage that is absolutely terrible to use and navigate. I had an issue depositing checks via the app. I was told that I would have to go into the branch I person. I ask, then why even have an app? I informed the manager I was speaking with that I would be withdrawing my money and switching banks. Her response was ok, good. read more

This has been the worst banking experience I've ever had in my life. It took over three weeks to get a debit card and then I used it twice and then it stopped letting me use it any time I had to enter the PIN number saying it was the wrong number even though I was looking right at the number that came with the second card they sent me (first one never arrived). When you contact the banks customer service department they're as worthless as the rest of the business. I've had enough after less than two months with them and will be going to another bank ASAP!! read more

I've been a Coastal member for a few years. There are some things that have been pretty good with Coastal, others not so much. I like that they don't sell your mortgage. However, on a few occasions the teller has taken WAY too long - waited in the drive up teller line for 15 min more than once. It took a while to get used to the "teller on a screen" but it works...most of the time. I just tried to log on to the website and it's down - keeps telling me authentication approved but then a big "forbidden access" message appears. This has also happened a few times in a few years, which I find unacceptable. For pitching themselves a technical credit union (aforementioned teller on a screen)...the website should work 24/7. Also, you can't send them a message through the website...that their website won't let you log in...unless you log in first. Just thought I'd share my thoughts. CFCU is OK but they have some things to work out before being exceptional. read more
