The Works on an everything bagel
    Anne T.

Cute little shop located in the same old building (next to the hospital) that I used to see my pediatrician, "Dr. Dan", over 40 years ago as a child. Straight forward easy to read menu. I opted for my favorite bagel type- everything bagel with "the works". Bagel consistency was perfect - so soft and perfectly chewy. Great balance of cream cheese, tomato, red onion, lox and capers. Superb! Served quickly with a friendly smile. I highly recommend!

We ordered a dessert pastry, a dozen bagels and two different cream cheeses. Bagels were fresh and delicious. Cream cheese was tasty. Pastry was way better than it looked. Employees were all nice.

New breakfast place that just opened up and they offer some really great bagels. Service was quick and the ambiance was nice. Came in the morning and it was not as packed as I thought it would be I had ordered the Asiago bagel with honey walnut cream cheese and some slices of taylor ham. The bagel was toasted and it was delicious. The prices for each item were fair and the staff were all nice and super friendly. I would love to come back, but the downside is that they are only opened Monday through Friday in the mornings until 2pm. They are not opened on the weekends yet, but I do hope that they will one day. Stop by for the best and newest bagels in Vero Beach!

We ordered a raspberry donut, sugar donut, and 2 egg cheese and meat bagels and they were all delish! The service was quick and the food was really fresh. It's a well lit spot, small and welcoming. It was $22 with tip for all that food which I thought was fair!

Excellent bagel shoppe! Friendly as well! I picked up an everything and an Asiago bagel, sliced, to go. They look as authentic as they get! Looking forward.

    Fluffiest donut I've ever had.

Holy freaking Moses, this place is delicious! I stopped by today for the first time and I can't wait to return. I got an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese for myself, a sausage egg and cheese on a croissant for someone else(but I stole a bite for snack tax and good gracious, it was unreasonably good!), a cherry pastry for my son(again, bite stolen and again, fantastic), and a sugar donut for my daughter. You already know I stole a bite of the donut as well and it was so airy and fluffy! I couldn't believe how good it was. I will say my everything bagel was a little heavier in the sesame seeds than I typically like, but most people would probably find that to be a bonus. The texture and overall taste of the bagel was great and I'll get it again, abundance of sesame and all! (Although I'm also excited to try the jalapeño bagel if it's available next time) The service was quick and very friendly and the establishment was nice, bright, and clean. I completely get the hype.

We are out of towners who love bagels and coffee shops so we found this one and was skeptical when it was located on a hospital but once we went in it was legit! Waited maybe 5-6 minutes for the bagels to be made fresh and it was super clean!! They have indoor and outdoor seating. The coffee selection was minimal so we ended up heading to another place but bagel wise we would come back!

Pleasantly surprised to find this gem tucked away in Riverside Medical center. The bagels are top notch and the service didn't disappoint.

I went with New Yorkers and they swore this place had the best bagels around and they were right. A true hidden gem in a medical facility.

Bagels were hot, fresh, and very good! The donut was also incredible. A bit hard to find as it's in a medical center.

When I walked in, there was only one other table occupied, and the server, who seemed to double as the hostess and cook, was chatting with them. I wasn't really greeted, which left me unsure if it was a "go to the counter to order" or a "sit down and someone will take your order" kind of place. I eventually sat at the counter and was handed a menu, which I found a bit confusing to navigate. Overhearing someone order a sausage, egg, and cheese on a bagel, I decided to go with that. I wasn't asked about a drink, which threw me off at first, but I figured it out when I noticed another customer making their own coffee behind me. It was a basic coffee setup, reminiscent of what you'd find at a 7-Eleven. I made myself a hazelnut coffee with vanilla almond milk creamer, but unfortunately, the flavor was as lackluster as the setup. While sitting at the counter, I noticed some random trash around--things like a credit card slip at my seat, a used Styrofoam coffee cup at the next seat, and a silverware wrap on the other side. There were also dirty dishes on a cooler next to the kitchen. These aren't huge issues, but they do suggest a relaxed attitude toward cleanliness and detail. When my sandwich arrived, it looked underwhelming, both in size and presentation. The bagel seemed smaller than what you'd get at Einstein Bros. or Panera. Flavor-wise, it didn't impress either. The cheese seemed to be some sort of sauce, as I couldn't really see or taste it. My total came to $12 after tip, and honestly, I feel like I could get better value at Dunkin'. Overall, this seems like a great spot for locals and regulars. The employee was chatting with customers about their "usuals" and seemed to know everyone by name, which is a nice touch, especially in a small town like Vero. However, as someone who was visiting for the first time, I found the experience lacking and didn't encounter anything compelling enough to bring me back.

I live 13 miles away and drove to pick up my order which was approximately 30 minute drive. I arrive and there is a sign on the door that says "closed for maintenance". I knock on the window and the younger girl waves they're closed. I knocked again to get her attention and have her come to the door. She comes over and says we're closed. I explain I ordered and it's given me a time and that I'd I won't be getting my food I'd like a refund. She says call the app it's not her problem they've been closed all day. She also stated they've been getting orders all day and haven't done any. I express that it's poor customer service to not update any of the apps and allow for ordering to still occur. It's a real inconvenience when I've driven this far and wasted my time. Was told again she has nothing to do with it and they're closed. She said they've gone through 15 managers and she has nothing to do with it but she's the shift manager. Another girl comes over blonde hair and says shes on the phone with the owner and they cancelled all online ordering platforms. I picked up my phone and went on the app and showed them it's still active and accepting orders. If the company isn't accepting ordering online or via apps that is their job to deactivate any and all of the services. What's really a shame is not one of them even say "I'm sorry for the inconvenience". At this point this is just incompetence all around. Another customer came up right while I was up there speaking with the two ladies and they told her the same thing. I do not recommend this business. Hopefully they can get a 16th manager who can get them situated as they should completely reevaluate their customer service. If they can't they should sell it or close their doors for good.

I went in about lunchtime and ended up getting an Italian sandwich, which seemed to annoy some of the staff members a little bit. It was my first time in there, so I took a little bit longer to look at the menu that was posted and get accustomed to the sides, but no more than maybe 30 to 45 seconds. The sandwich was pretty good, I would put it up there with a standard sandwich, and you get a lot of bang for your buck, which is definitely good. However, I don't think it's beating out a Publix Italian or even a Jersey Mike's, if you want to drive down the street a bit. Inside, it is very much a local deli vibe. A couple of tables, some TVs go in, and it really establishes itself as that. Nothing fancy, but it doesn't need to be. Coffee-wise, it looks like they mainly just offered drip coffee over on the end, but I didn't order any, so I'm unsure if they had a more expansive menu. I'm definitely going to give it another try, but try what they are known for this time, that being some bagels, if they still have any in stock by the time I get there. Once I try those out, I will update the review accordingly.
