The glass was all double paned and unusual shapes, needed to be custom fabricated. Really wanted to get a company that would pay attention to the detail and get this done right since it's a nice house. They came out and measured all the panes, custom made replacements, and came back and swapped them out. All told this was a big job requiring a significant amount of labor. Turned out great! See my picture. Heads up I will mention the job start to finish took about 4.5 weeks vs the 2.5 weeks initially estimated, largely due to ordering of the custom glass. The price quoted was fair, and they came in 100% on budget. Happy to recommend and use them again. Also happy to use a local business.

On the east coast this is common occurrence with older, more historic homes, so finding someone to make repairs in this area was more challenging than expected. I called several places and after delays and a few days passing I was finally referred to Anthony even though based in Seaside. We were in luck that he had another Job in Santa Cruz and he fit us into his busy schedule. Anthony was very friendly and professional and did a great job in replacing the window. We had another small crack to the corner of another window which I asked about. Instead of charging us double, he suggested to wait and put glue on either side and said we could wait and see if an issue down the road than we could deal with it. His pricing is also fair. If you're looking for someone professional, experienced, friendly and honest, I would recommend reaching out to Anthony's.

He was very professional, patient, and willing to answer any and all questions. He's a very good communicator. Everything post Covid seems higher in cost, so there was some sticker shock from the bid, but it seemed like his pricing was in line with the other bids we got. The fact that he is also a licensed contractor reassured us that he would not only be able to replace the windows but also be trained enough in general construction to be able to find the source of the leak and fix it. As a general contractor, he has connections in the trades and brought in a sheet metal worker who did a great job providing solutions and extra protections against the leaks. We feel pretty confident, but the true test will be this winter if we have strong storms with lots of rain. There was a problem at the end, but Winnifred did the right thing and fixed it, standing behind his work with integrity. Overall great customer service, communication, and quality workmanship. We would definitely recommend Winnifred and Glasswork by Design.

Our sliding glass door was shattered by a rock when my husband was mowing the lawn. I called several other glass repair companies but they usually went to voicemail and didn't return my calls or their customer services was horrible. I finally came across Carmel Glass Company. They answered my call right away. I mean, there was actually someone sitting at a desk taking calls, not going to a phone recorder to leave a message. Their estimators were all out in the field but she assured me that they would get back to me after 3 p.m. on a Thursday. Sure enough; I received a call from Dennis, who I believe is the owner of the business. He came out the next day to do an estimate and give me a quote, which was very reasonable. He said he could do the job the following week. He called me the following Tuesday morning and said they were in the middle of a big job, but that they could come out and fit us in between or they'd have to do it the following week. I told him let's go for it. So he and his crew came to the house about an hour later. Picked up the door and re-installed it about 3 hours later. He noticed that our old slider wasn't sliding very well, so he also replaced the rollers on it too! Now it slides like a brand new door. These guys are amazing ... do great work and are reasonably priced! I would definitely go back to them again!

The window was not square, and they actually cut the window perfectly to size! (That may sound like a given, but no, it is not. The glass is perfect, nothing fancy, just 1/8" but I was so happy with this result! Everyone I spoke to was delightful and very pleasant. I have had glass cut for other windows in the past, but never had such excellent results. I was especially grateful for the sanded (safety bevels) on the edges. I have had to handle fresh cut edges in the past, and I did not know that the sanding was available. Cut edges on glass is really stressful. We will be going back here for any glass needs.
