Well..... Things just keep getting worse here. I went in to pay my property taxes and a couple bills. The 2 bill payments were a breeze but when i told the teller I would like to increase my debit withdrawal limit to $2000 for the next 24hrs to cover my property taxes, she was CONVINCED that I should be paying this with my credit card to earn the points and such. I told here numerous times that I wish to not put the $1700 on my card as I have a low limit and automated withdrawals off my Mastercard and that I don't want to max it out, etc... We continued to go back and foreth for a good 5 minutes. She finally gave up and continued to up my limit to $2000. Sounds pretty simple eh? Bump my daily limit from $1500 - $2000? Well, after a 5 minute chat with her superior she continues to tell me that they have to make a call to their "head-office customer service line" which takes another 5-10 minutes. She gets off the phone and tells me that i have until 7pm tonight to make the payment. Not 24hrs!!!! She then continues to CONVINCE me to make the payment at the branch. I then tell her that I have gone thru this numerous times and the simplest most effective way is to go down to City Hall (less than a 2 minute drive from this branch BTW) and pay it down there. If I pay at the branch, I then have to deal with all the hassle of claiming the Home Owners Grant online by filling out a bunch of questionnaires and forms, etc.... At this point, I feel like I am on the witness stand for a major murder crime!! All I want is an extra $500 for the day to pay my damn property taxes! I honestly feel somedays that Coast Capital somehow has it in their mind that MY money is kind of THEIR money too!!!! It's bloody hilarious... Anyways.... So, I proceed to go down to City Hall, while contemplating the option of putting the taxes on my credit card. I get to the counter and the agent asks me for method of payment. I ask her, mainly out of curiosity, if they accept credit card. she answers, swiftly, "No.... cash, debit of cheque only. We never accept credit card payments for Property Taxes." I was so annoyed by this all I felt like going back to Coast and telling her about how she basically knows nothing and that she should once and while just SHUT UP and listen to what the customer is asking. All our lives would be much simpler and she wouldn't look like an incompetent fool!!!! read more
