a display case filled with different types of donuts

We visited this candy store on 2/8/17. This is a small candy shop and unfortunately they have a limited selection of sweets. I bought some pralines, aka pecan sugar pills, and they were creamy and good. All of their sweets in the display case looked great!

Next to the IV.

Fudge was dry. Strawberry covered chocolates were good. Very overpriced. I won't buy from again. Staff very nice.

There is plenty of parking available with more in the rear you can't see from the highway. This is a nice size store and exactly what I was looking for because its like the large gift stores in Orlando. They have pretty much everything you can think of and then some. I picked up a beach hoodie for my granddaughter, a bunch of magnets, a giant coffee mug and a spoon rest for my sister. They have all 50 states in magnets that I had not seen before. Most of the items say "Biloxi" or "Biloxi Beach" on them. The only New Orleans thing I saw was the super large coffee mug that was a Cafe Du Monde one. Offering more New Orleans items would be nice so I don't have to go down into the French Quarter to get them. Prices were reasonable and I didn't feel like I was over paying. The hoodie was $33 and unique in its' style and pattern. Magnets were five dollars. I did not go upstairs since it was mostly toys and beach items per the cashier.

They had quite a bit of selection for souvenirs. Lots of things. Shirts, toys, keepsakes. It would probably be better to stop by a local boutique but it definitely lives up to the name of having lots of souvenirs. Service was meh, lady took a while to get of her phone and come to check us out. Maybe go?

If you've never sweated through a seafood boil while simultaneously experiencing spiritual…read moreawakening and mild crab-induced trauma, Taranto's is the spot for you. First off, they bring the food out in a giant plastic bag like it's evidence from a crime scene. And honestly, it is a crime--how much butter and Cajun seasoning they put in there. The shrimp were so spicy they gave me flashbacks to every bad decision I've ever made, and the sausage? That sausage whispered sweet nothings to me before punching me in the face with flavor. I'm not saying I fell in love, but I definitely Googled "how to legally marry andouille." The corn was hotter than Satan's armpit, and the potatoes were softer than my willpower. I burned my fingertips, tongue, and possibly my soul, but I regret nothing. The staff is friendly in that Southern way where they call you "honey" and tell you you're "lookin' peaky" while piling 7 pounds of shellfish in front of you. If your bib doesn't say "I'm here for a good time, not a long time," you're doing it wrong. Pro tip: don't wear white. Or tight pants. Or any emotional baggage you're not ready to let go of--because the boil will break you down and build you back better. 10/10, would cry happy tears into my crab legs again.
