This is my favorite little place to get my hot fudge sundaes when I'm craving one. The frozen custard is so delicious it's the ice cream (frozen custard) reminds me of when I was little and got the good stuff at McDonalds before the recipe changed to what it is now (I don't eat at McDonalds anymore) The service is always quick and very friendly so it's always appreciated. The shop is always clean and if you wanna play a game of checkers they got you covered with giant checkers and a board on 2 of the tables!!! So if your craving a hot fudge Sunday or need a good ole ice cream cake them head on over to Bops Frozen Custard Old Fashioned Ice Cream to get one!!! read more

I ended up finding this place by accident as I was shopping at Sam's Club and wanted to get some ice cream. I ended up ordering the Margaritaville which was awesome. They made it fast. Prices were not too bad and I ended up eating the whole thing. I did like the 50's look outside. read more

The dessert was great! I had the mud with butterfinger instead of Oreos. The establishment was clean and the employees were polite.

Service was quick and the worker was friendly, they have outdoor seating which is perfect for our small puppy to also be able to enjoy a pup cup with us, I had the banana pudding sundae it was very yummy! I will definitely be coming back to try out other items. read more

I have eaten here several times. I avoid sugar and they have a select few "no sugar added" selections. The store is always clean and the staff friendly and helpful and it's fairly busy, but.... Whereas I have enjoyed the frozen custard here, the only real shortcoming here comes from information from the staff. Every time I go, without fail, I inquire about the low-sugar menu items (to make sure they are still available or if anything had changed) and each time I get puzzled, quizzical looks and have to clarify the difference between "sugar-free" and "no sugar added." There IS a difference and invariably the high-school -age child behind the counter has to be gently educated as to the difference. It's a minor nuisance but avoidable. It just slows things down uneccessarily. read more

We fell in love with Bops when our daughter first started attending Mississippi State a few years ago. We were so happy to find one down here on the coast! My favorite is the strawberry patch that has custard, strawberries, hot fudge and roasted pecans. They have shakes, concretes, and sundaes with all kinds of toppings to choose from. Everyone there is always so nice and helpful. It's also great to have the option of using their drive through or enjoying it inside. It's a delicious gem of a spot! read more

We visited this location twice while staying at the hotel across the street. On Friday night, the young lady with the snake bite piercings was very friendly, which made me want to return the next night. There was a brief five-minute wait before someone came to take our order, and on the first night, they politely said, "Ring the bell when you're ready." However, our experience on Saturday night around 10 PM was very different. The staff member with a ponytail and curly bun had the worst attitude I have ever experienced, was not welcoming, and borderline rude. While the ice cream was good, customer service is everything. When I kindly mentioned this to her shift leader, I overheard her say, "Someone is complaining about me, but I don't really care," which was extremely disappointing. Overall, the ice cream is enjoyable, but the extremely poor attitude and inconsistent customer service ruined the experience. Judging by the other reviews I see the teenage "attitude" is a frequent occurrence. read more

I've been here twice and decided to leave a review to remind my future self to not come here. I love ice cream and custard. It is my comfort food. First visit I ordered what sounded yummy and it was not memorable. My last visit I decided to get their popular snappy Turtle and I didn't even finish the small size. The custard is unfortunately flavorless. If there is vanilla flavoring added, I can't taste it. read more

I found this (my second) Bop's Frozen Custard conveniently near an exit as one drives down the Gulf Coast. It even has a drive-through window, so it's high on convenience during a road trip. Their custard is customizable, and I benefitted from trying a mint and oreo shake; where a chocolate custard base overwhelms the mint flavor, this vanilla base left a much more balanced result. The custard is not bad on price, but it is all dairy (and presumably some egg), so this isn't really a place for those with dietary constraints. A dog cup comes free with purchase, offering both a small scoop of the custard and a doggie bone. The particular dog I had with me ate the custard but not the bone-shaped treat, but given the gusto with which she licked the custard off of the bone, I think she's a fan. read more

I went to the drive through service . It was a Saturday evening . It was pretty busy. Inside was packed , but it's a very small place so it doesn't take much . The drive through line is very convenient but the ally that they took my order is kinda dark. Felt bad that the person had to stand there to take my order. She deserved a good tip. 11 for my ice cream and $5 for the service . It was excellent . read more

This is by far the best ice cream store on the Mississippi gulf coast. It's so good it's hard to put into words. Although I'm sure it's not the healthiest ice cream in the world, it is for me because I won't eat any other ice cream now and I'm not driving all the way there whenever I feel like having ice cream. So I've had a significantly loss less ice cream consumption now that I know this place is here. read more

My custard was not custard. It was melted and had the texture of ice cream. My husband bananas split was good.

The worst $14 I have ever spent! Young workers with little to no experience. Received my order dripping melted custard and no lids as ordered. Not enough toppings to enjoy the advertised creation. read more

Yum! We stopped by for dessert last night (Friday) around 7:30. While we didn't have to wait in a line, this place was packed! I ordered a regular Snappy Turtle, which is vanilla custard with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, roasted pecans, and topped with whipped cream and a cherry. DELICIOUS! We had looked at the pictures from here on Yelp before going in and my husband wanted a Fluffer Nutter which isn't a normal menu item. We showed the girl taking our order a picture of it and she said that they could make one. He really liked his...until he tried mine, lol. Have to say that the Snappy Turtle put his to shame! The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual - it's a custard place. Nice and clean and bright. There are tables inside as well as outside. There is a huge checkers game set up inside. Tons of menu options. The employees were all very sweet. For our two regular size custards we spent around $11, so it's not cheap. But it was really good, and it is freshly made. We will be back! read more

Love this place for their custard. We really enjoy going here for special family treat nights. We love it so much we decided to get an ice cream cake for my sons birthday. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. It was $26 and very underwhelming. It was practically all vanilla custard with a thin layer or fudge and some peanut butter cups sprinkled on top. And to top it off, it's definitely old tasting and seems to have freezer burn on it. We will be back for to eat fresh made treats, but would not recommend anything already premade. read more

Delicious ice cream and fun for the whole family! Brought some relatives from out of town over the weekend. They absolutely loved it! The sundaes were delicious and so were the smoothies. I ordered raspberries and received raspberry syrup instead. When walking up to the counter to tell the lady that I ordered raspberries she told me they just carry the syrup. I ordered a "loaf" ice cream cake for my son's birthday. It cost us $30+ and when we picked it up I was less than impressed... it looked like they melted cookie dough ice cream into a "loaf" mold, froze it, then plopped it on a plastic tray! There were holes on top and the edges weren't even smoothed out! I was so disappointed. We ended up stopping at DQ and picked up a beautifully iced and decorated and birthday themed ice cream cake for $25! I will never go to bops again. read more

Wasn't anything especially amazing, but really, who doesn't love some satisfactory frozen custard?

Visited Bop's this evening and am disappointed that local companies continue to hire high school kids with no organizational skills who think work should be playtime. After placing my order I sat down for quite some time while several cars went through the drive thru and several customers who came in after me got their orders. After I realized something was amiss went to the counter to check on my order which was totally forgotten. Bop's needs to put an ordering system in place that assures these kinda mistakes dont happen in the future. Note: no business should have a drive thru if you cant take care of your walk ins. read more

High school kids working that pester you for tips and if you don't tip or don't tip "enough" they give you shitty ice cream or half of the typical serving. They wouldn't give manager's info when my husband and I asked for it. We loved this place for a weekly treat but won't be back with our kiddos. read more

This is VERY different. The caramel was like watered down and just wasn't good. The "custard" it's self I didn't understand and when I asked the girl that took my order what the difference was she said,"I don't know really!"
