Hot hot Thursday afternoon, and the mrs and I were mad hungry. Walking through east st there were loads of table and chairs set up outside with big umbrellas giving shade. Someone's plate caught my eye. Not good but we didn't look at the menu. We just ordered what we saw on the plates next to us. Which was fish and chips, and burger and chips. We ordered drinks which came quick. We didn't have to wait long for the food niether. It came out on a wooden chopping board as the plate. The presentation was good. The chips were in a little metal basket that looked great. The place was busy, busy, busy. All party's were chatting away. They had a live jazz band playing outside aswell. Great touch I think. Even better when the music is great to. The lead singer came round after a few songs and asked each table for a donation, which I thought was rude. Waving a hat under your nose for money. Not everyone has change. Not everyone wants to be harassed for money. The fish was lovely and fresh. It all tasted great. So I no the rest of the menu must of been great too. The staff were ok. We're fast, but couldn't help when asked about more food on the menu for some reason. Bottom line is, that it's a great place for a sunny afternoon lunch, with a good atmosphere. read more
