I think that Harvester have upped their game, and the help yourself salad bar is a winner.
Worth a visit early evening.

You get what you pay for.
The spit roast chicken looks good value, but it can be overcooked, which one was and returned, and replaced very quickly. I think my wife's was undercooked, and she suffered the next day, believing that she had swine flu.
I had the gammon, and two eggs, nothing special, and priced at £4.99, plus salad bar, value for money.
One of kids chicken was quite tough on one side, so presumably left to one side and kept warm.
They were happy to combine the children's sweet (jelly and ice cream), paid for the two.
Staff very friendly, and busy, and can sometimes forget a request.
At our visit the gent's toilets were really discusting. I could only allow my boy to use one of the WCs. There was wet all over the floor near the urinals. One of the WCs could be flush sorry too much detail..
This is something they really need to get right.
