There are burgers and other food items cooked on the sight, so you can eat while you wander, and it's ideal if you're looking for good, honest food without the stress of supermarket shopping. The stallholders are mostly friendly and keen to chat about their produce, and prices are reasonably compared to health food shops and similar. A great thing to support that adds to the traditional feel of the more independent aspects of Oxford shopping and makes the big town seem more like a local farming market.

I loved that everything was put in paper bags, not plastic. I read that the market has been around since the 9th century, which I loved knowing. A short walk down the hill brings you to beautiful neighborhoods with cobblestone roads and the huge cathedral. It's a lovely area overall.

Northfield Farm Got the special Rueben and shared it. It has salt beef, emmental cheese, sour kraut, pickles and their secret sauce. It was cool to see him make it in front of you quickly. Going in for the first time, don't expect to have a place to stand or sit. We struggled a bit to enjoy our food -- hovering over a flower planter box while the wind blew away all of the cheese from our sandwiches, haha! We had to visit this place two times because there were too many items we wanted to try. The first experience felt like a disaster. Everyone was packed in like sardines while the loud speaker was warning us of pickpocketing on a weekday. Bomba Paella - Lobster Paella was expensive and the portion was small. The paella was average. 3/5 6. Turnips - viral chocolate covered strawberries. They're expensive, but worth it. This was the only thing we went back twice for. It's that good! Super refreshing. I came here twice with my mother-in-law to pick up a few fresh items (strawberries), direct from the farmers. The hardest part is finding a parking spot. Lucky for me, my mother-in-law had a handicap sticker, which meant that we were able to park right at the market square. I'm not sure what you do if you can't park on the street. There has to be a parking lot somewhere, I just didn't need to figure that part out. If you are in the neighborhood, stop in and enjoy! I'll be back the next time I'm nearby.

They only accept cash so bring plenty or face a ~£2 surcharge at the only near by cash machine in Londis. After eating be sure to wonder around the vast gardens of Alexandra palace and grab a cake at the garden centre nearby. This is my favourite nearby place to bring my dog for walks.

I really enjoy this place and try to make a point of buying my veggies from here every Saturday.
