It sells clothes, male and female, George's designer used to design for Next. Good quality and inexpensive. Cds and dvd's - look in Asda first, for example Mamamia dvd about £2.50 cheaper in Asda than Sainsburys. Good choice of cards, wrapping paper and flowers, flower wrapping service. Off Licence department very reasonable and extensive, often has offers on beer and wine and champagne. Great fresh fish counter and butchery. Fantastic value all under one roof. Only black mark I would give it is that the sale by dates are often very nearly out of date but great for a large family with big and healthy appetites.

It's got a large car-park, and although it is not as conveniently and centrally located as Somerfield, it's a better (and larger) store in my view. Repeated attempts to expand it have met with refusal by local planners, and the main competition is now a very large Asda in nearby Highbridge, 5 minutes away by car along the A38. Where you ultimately decide to shop depends on your brand loyalty, I guess. As well as the usual groceries, it has a fresh meat counter and service include customer toilets (with baby-changing facilities), a recycling point and a cash dispenser.

This store underwent a very large (almost doubled in size) expansion and refurbishment in 2012. This lighter, more modern feeling store now provides Burnham with what I'd consider the best all round grocery shopping experience in the town: a wide range of products at reasonable prices that are well stocked and displayed with a friendly, helpful team of staff who try their best to ensure your visit is as pain free as possible.

This places is just fantastic for parties. They sell loads more than food, but the selection of pre-prepared foods and nibbles is awesome. The fresh food selection is great too, plus they do fantastic cakes that they can personalise. They also sell electrical's, they have a photo centre and sell car stuff amongst other things. If your prepared to buy in bulk you can save a fair bit on the household bills.
