This is a medium-sized Tesco on the new main road from Junction 22 of the M5 motorway into the little Somerset seaside resort of Burnham.
It's got a large car-park, and although it is not as conveniently and centrally located as Somerfield, it's a better (and larger) store in my view. Repeated attempts to expand it have met with refusal by local planners, and the main competition is now a very large Asda in nearby Highbridge, 5 minutes away by car along the A38. Where you ultimately decide to shop depends on your brand loyalty, I guess.
As well as the usual groceries, it has a fresh meat counter and service include customer toilets (with baby-changing facilities), a recycling point and a cash dispenser. read more
