Not ur normal circumstances…read more Our rental van hit a flat goin to Vancouver Island at stoopid Blaeberry (very blae if u ask us!!) and we rolled ona spare til Revelstoke where we parked here for the nught to wait for the nearby car shop to open. Thanks to the super kool Aussie workin the cash overnight that night we got our car fixed much sooner at a much better place! Plus we scored some brekkie and were close to a bathroom all night. I came in to ask a question about the Resort Shuttle on a Sunday night, and got a kind of dumb stare and a response that was classically 7-11 cashieresque: "uhhh do I LOOK like a resort type? I don't know." It was such a great response, and yet was so full of condescension that it was awesome. I guess we all make different choices in life. Nonetheless, this one had locks on the doors - if they are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week . . . why the locks?

I am now finding that the Esso in Barriere is a better option. I now skip Clearwater and just wait until here and fill up on gas at the same time since it's close to Kamloops anyway. In doing so I avoid an additional stop along the way. Also, for some reason, Kamloops doesn't have a convenient gas station right off the highway. A lot of the gas stations on the drive have an A&W. I like how this Esso station has a Subway instead. If I need food, I feel like Subway is a healthier option for me (kind of like the best of the worst and yes, I realize that is a backhand compliment). Overall, a good place to stop, fill up on gas and get some grub on a long drive. As an aside, I've never tried, but they also have showers available for use (not sure how much it costs). Maybe more for truckers but hey, the option is here for you if you need it.
