According to the locals, this is a bigger store than the regular ones. If I get a chance to visit a regular store, I'll confirm, lol. This one does have 2 levels, and you can take the lift (elevator) or the escaltors escalators. The escalator going down wasn't working the times I've been, but just walk down anyway. They have cashiers for check out as well as self check-out lanes. Prices here are awesome! I'm a huge fan of their bakery bread and the snacks. Their sparkling water game is pretty strong, too. Don't be shocked if I check in here again, lol!

If you're around Liverpool, Tesco's of all versions are dotted around places: metro, local, express, superstore. If there are any more, you'll have to let me know! The Liverpool One branch of Superstore is not actually the most super I have come across in Liverpool as there is one in Litherland which is gargantuan in comparison. However, Liverpool One Tesco is certainly what the town needs. You still have plenty of choice here, a variety of sections such as deli, clothes and international foods to keep you adding more to your basket! I find this place more of a relaxing and enjoyable shopping experience as opposed to the Metro version by the big screen, because its more spacious and offers an abundance of products. The location isn't great if you're driving there as it'll cost you pounds to park somewhere nearby but certainly convenient when you have other chores to do around town.

    Tesco - It's orange-y & cakey, not "Twix-y" like I thought! Good, though!

We travelled by train on this last European…read moretrip, we went back and forth about whether we should drive or train or do a combination of both. We decided on going the train route totally. Driving on the left hand side is not something to choose easily....I have only done it once before in 1982 in Jamaica and it was fine because I was incredibly young and the roads were less travelled back then but it's hard to change. I know many accidents/ deaths that have happened because of this. Anyway we decided to do the train bit. When we arrived at the York train station we had some time to wait so Joe said " Go check out the Booths" I already knew this is a grocery store chain in England and had seen it before But I was blown away at this one and was surprised to find it at the Windermere train station. I spent a good 45 minutes in there and purchased many items for our next destination. Beautiful produce and it also had a whole bakery area and a area with pharmacy type items too. When Joe insisted I go honestly I was a bit annoyed like Why? Lol Great store! Best in town!

Booths by a wide margin is the largest and nicest grocery store in Windermere. Excellent selection…read moreof produce, international and British staples, and a massive wine and liquor section. I made several Thai dishes and Booths had all the necessary ingredients from fish sauce to palm sugar to dried kaffir lime leaves. Prices are much lower and the selection much larger than you'd find in London. Try £26 for a bottle of Veuve, and yes we bought a case for Christmas lunch! If you're self catering in the Lake District and are looking for quality well above your average Tesco Express, be sure to make the drive to Booths.

It's a mid-sized branch but has all the usual departments, butcher, baker, fishmonger, hot cooked chickens etc. Pleasant staff and there were plenty of checkouts open when I visited on a busy Friday morning so there were no queues. Photo-booth in the entrance and cashpoint machines outside. A perfectly fine Morrison's basically.

This Morrisons store in Kirkham needs more staff across certain areas or better management…read more I will NOT shop at this store anymore, the management is diabolical. Staff on the shop floor are run off their feet. They need to look at customer queuing times on market street, NOT the tills. I have given up waiting to be served numerous times as there is only ever one person, that's if they are there, due to other jobs they are made to do. I have witnessed other customers walking away on a regular basis. Staff are very apologetic but this is not good enough. They clearly need help and yet the managers are usually stood outside smoking, walking past, ignoring the huge queue of us customers waiting to be served. VERY bad management. Maybe the staff on the shop floor could be trained to help during busy periods? Instead I see them chatting and having a laugh whilst I am waiting, or maybe management could degrade themselves and serve me! It is outrageous the way this store is run. Once again it is all down to how the store is managed, if you can call it 'Managed'.!!!

They constantly ignore the Councils rules and regulations when it comes to delivery trucks and have coming past everyone's property along the the streets throughout every night, regardless of the hour. They allow folk to tie their barking pets outside whilst the customers do a 'shop', which can take a long, long time. Customers take note : your lovely dog can be stolen and used for bait in dog fights! How can you be so cruel? If your pet barks outside a store, it is distressed and it is telling you so! If you return to that place where you put your dog, and it's not there, enjoy feelings of guilt for the rest of your life! It is probably being chewed up by now! When I complained and explained this to Asda, and asked them not to encourage it by leaving a water bowl out, their response was that they would rather customers choosing to leave their dogs there at least had a drink! What? Like having their last meal before a death sentence? How considerate! So yes, Asda are pretty good with customers. Just not very clued in with pets and the heavy truck loads through the night.

Well ok I may be exaggerating a bit but whoever it was on the microphone had me giggling all the way through my little shopping trip!! There was definitely some comedy value in him coaxing customers to buy whatever he was trying to sell, it was actually witty banter!! The good thing about this Asda is actually its location. You see it's surrounded by a host of other stores with this one being the focal point of attention. As I discover Blackpool more I like it more, slowly but surely I am dispelling a tarnished image I have of it and it's growing on me. Unlike other Asda stores this has a nice deli/cafe which you;d actually want to sit down and eat in!! The toilets were immaculately clean and again "usable" which isn't something you can say for a lot of them. The different sections were all massive as was this whole place, and after Manchester's walmart (near the city stadium) this is the biggest one I have been to. Blackpool has an Asda walmart people!!
