They may be a good store for customers and staff are helpful, kind and efficient, mostly. The problem with Southport store at Central 12 is that they really don't care about residents living close to it. They constantly ignore the Councils rules and regulations when it comes to delivery trucks and have coming past everyone's property along the the streets throughout every night, regardless of the hour. They allow folk to tie their barking pets outside whilst the customers do a 'shop', which can take a long, long time. Customers take note : your lovely dog can be stolen and used for bait in dog fights! How can you be so cruel? If your pet barks outside a store, it is distressed and it is telling you so! If you return to that place where you put your dog, and it's not there, enjoy feelings of guilt for the rest of your life! It is probably being chewed up by now! When I complained and explained this to Asda, and asked them not to encourage it by leaving a water bowl out, their response was that they would rather customers choosing to leave their dogs there at least had a drink! What? Like having their last meal before a death sentence? How considerate! So yes, Asda are pretty good with customers. Just not very clued in with pets and the heavy truck loads through the night. read more

So what? It's just another Asda store is it not??!! Of course it's just an Asda store, but this one has its very own DJ!!!!! Get out!!! I hear you say. Well ok I may be exaggerating a bit but whoever it was on the microphone had me giggling all the way through my little shopping trip!! There was definitely some comedy value in him coaxing customers to buy whatever he was trying to sell, it was actually witty banter!! The good thing about this Asda is actually its location. You see it's surrounded by a host of other stores with this one being the focal point of attention. As I discover Blackpool more I like it more, slowly but surely I am dispelling a tarnished image I have of it and it's growing on me. Unlike other Asda stores this has a nice deli/cafe which you;d actually want to sit down and eat in!! The toilets were immaculately clean and again "usable" which isn't something you can say for a lot of them. The different sections were all massive as was this whole place, and after Manchester's walmart (near the city stadium) this is the biggest one I have been to. A good well stocked Asda (formerly Co Op) in Marton Blackpool carrying the full range of Asda goods from George clothes, homewares electricals and of course food and drinks. As you enter there is a massive range of clothing for mem, women and children along the whole left had side of the store, with tills and fitting rooms at the back. There are plenty of tills and the service here is usually fairly quick. There is also a cafe, pharmacy and travel agents in store as well as allied caprets, in-store and other shops just across the car park. The car park is massive and has a self service, pay at pump only petrol station. read more

Lots of bargins, love the kids clothes - not enough boys stuff though, but same as everywhere else. Plenty of parking, although shared with two carpet stores, Instore, and several other homestores. Rarely any empty shelves. Store very well set out, plenty of room around the asiles. But not enough by the till - only just enough to get trolley though, which means the kids are into evrything on the shelves. read more

I'm usually a dyed in the wool Tesco shopper but I popped into Asda today for the first time in about 18 months and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. They seemed to have lots more offers on everyday items than Tesco and the quality and choice was great. It was very busy when I visited but there were no queues at the checkouts, there was even a staff member patrolling the checkouts pointing out free ones with a big green pointing finger on a stick! :-) Checkout staff seemed genuinely helpful and friendly too. I only wanted a few items today but I may well come back on another day to do my 'big shop' here, who knows I may change the shopping habits of a lifetime! read more

Always well stocked, plenty of parking spaces, nice clean well designed store. Great clothes for adults and kids at very good prices. I can really recommend their underwear too - very good quality bras that are good sizings and wash very well. Nice pharmacy with all the usual items plus accessories and small gifts. Lovely bakery, plenty of choice and fresh products. The store isn't usually too busy with plenty of checkouts open to speed things up! read more

Cheap prices on food, drink, CDs, DVDs, clothes and books. Large electrical appliances are sold in store. Staff are friendly. The store is opened 24 hours and closes on a Sunday at 4pm. The George range of clothes have a good selection for children, women and men. There are plenty of parking spaces in the car park even though as mentioned in another review, the car park is shared with customers from other shops. There is a cafe in the store which has been recently refurbished and the food has improved. There is also a travel agents in the store. read more

29th December 2010 Asda Stores Dear Sir Madam I write further to my visit to the Asda Blackpool store 28th instant. I purchased from the above Asda store sometime in or around mid December 2010 a dressing gown for my daughters Christmas present priced at £12-50.However it did unfortunately not fit and was returned on abovementioned date for larger replacement. Asda Blackpool did at such time have no suitable replacement in stock and a refund was duly requested .However I did not have the receipt and since time of purchase said item had been reduced to £7-25 (apparently on 26th December 2010) even though it was categorically clear to all concerned that the dressing gown had never had a sticky "reduced" label upon it like other garments on sale in store which was evident by the lack of "sticky residue" where such label would have been on my Asda purchased garment. Asda was prepared to refund the sale price and the sale price of £7-25 only, which was unacceptable to me. It was suggested that a bank or credit card statement be produced. Why I do not know as this would prove nothing. Furthermore I am not prepared to disclose such personal details to all and sundry that is if I was even prepared to return home to get it that is a statement that in all likelihood would not yet have gone to print. What was even more un acceptable was the manner in which I was dealt with and spoken to or rather should I say spoken down to. I shall elaborate no further other than to say it was degrading and despicable. I thus requested to speak to a "manager" and a young lad came to "assist" who was not prepared to even disclose his name and was quite frankly conducted himself in a similar manner as mentioned and was a disgrace not only to himself but also to Asda. Shocking. I am not one for complaining and certainly do not appreciate my time being wasted and certainly do not appreciate being spoken to in the manner in which I was. Totally unacceptable to me and I would imagine the majority of decent humankind as I am sure you will agree. However rather upset I did decide to return home and return to Asda some of the food products (packaging only) recently purchased which were sub-standard and in my waste bin, that for which I did have a receipt and did thus return to Asda Blackpool with my partner and asked for in person the "manager" xxxxxx It was further explained the reason for our return and a request was made for a full refund of the Asda branded food products in accordance with the statement on your Asda branded products quote "Try Me Love Me We'll refund AND replace if you are not 100% happy". The "manager" xxxxx however unilaterally and for reasons known only unto himself decided to not honour such contract stating quote " I am not happy about this you are only returning the items because we wouldn't refund you the full price you paid for the dressing gown - I am going to get another "manager"" (I draw your attention implicitly to this statement as it is a clear statement and admission by an Asda employee that there has been acceptance that the full price of £12-50 WAS paid).Further there is definitive implication by innuendo in the making of such tactless statement which is purely an assumption made by what could be considered an ignorant and uneducated person notwithstanding the fact a direct accusation for all or any underlying reason for return is being made. This was pointed out using more or less the exact terminology aforementioned at which point the "manager" xxxxxx stared unblinkingly at my partner for an elongated period of time. Such staring was commented on by my partner who described such action as intimidating and threatening. The "manager" xxxxx in his defence stated such staring was eye contact whilst speaking to a customer despite the fact the difference between relating to a customer by another utilising eye contact and psychological technique in order to effectively communicate and eye contact that could be considered threatening and or aggressive was explained by us. Further training is certainly needed for this individual. By which time another "manager" xxxx had arrived who requested that "xxxxx" go elsewhere, which xxxxx duly did. Xxxxxx however giving credit where credit is due was able to conduct a reasonable conversation without escalating what was an already unpleasant situation. The following is what took place in the Blackpool Asda store not a scene with John Cleese aka Basil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers. Our concerns were put to xxxxxxx regarding our issues, that to which he listened. However a discussion ensued instigated by xxxxx Asda "manager" regarding the fact that the mince pie box returned did initially indeed contain 18 very small mince pies and the 3 steak pies returned were a considerable size and much larger with each outer packet containing a single family sized steak pie. xxxxxx stated he "had no p read more
