The new store is open!!!…read more We just had to check out the new location (next door to where the old one was in Mildenhall). Tight parking lot & totally full on a Friday morning; I immediately regretted driving a truck to this car park. The selection was what you'd expect from a larger Sainsbury's but the store is not nearly as large as it looks from outside. We found everything we needed for the weekend plus some. Excellent improvement on the local grocery store!

They stock a wide range of alcohol and also have a large freezer section. For it being a store in quite a small town, it does sell electrical appliances like washing machines and vacuum cleaners so it would save you travelling further for the bigger items. The only thing that I find that lets the store down is the service at times. It can get very busy and they can't seem to sort out that they need more staff at the weekends

The entrance has been redesigned and is lovely and airy, to the right is the tobacco kiosk and lunch section. Just beyond that is the lift and stairs to the large cafe, with the toilets hidden down the side of the lift. Upstairs is a new addition and the Cafe provides cooked meals aswell as liight snacks and drinks. The staff here seem to be struggling a little with the new environment however so make sure you have plenty of time. the store downstairs has a great clothing department with tall wide aisles which make it a pleasure to browse around. Ive never had a long wait at the tills and they seem to have the perfect balance of open tills and staff available. A real credit to Sainsburys.

When I asked about sauerkraut, the employee walked me to one and offered to show me other variety in a separate aisle. Same with the meat counter. They did not have any center cut chops behind the counter, so he came out and walked me to good choices in the aisles. Cafe is has a higher standard. Open choice pastries, china and real silver were to eat with. Multiple options for milks and variations on their drinks. Will frequent this store when I'm on that side of town. My favourite quote about Waitrose, that I read in an online discussion recently: Does that actually exist?! "Geranium and cherry cupcake" is precisely the sort of thing one would say Waitrose sell if you wanted to take the p*ss out of them... They do indeed sell a "Geranium and cherry cupcake", and it is apparently very good! I'm not so convinced about their recently introduced "Cashmere Quilted Bathroom Tissue, enriched with extracts of Cashmere" however...
