Finding general contractors in NJ that do fantastic work, communicate effectively, are professional, reliable, and act ethically can be hard. Especially in the middle of a pandemic when some home improvement contractors were a no-show for our friends. We feel lucky to have found them! From the moment we met Shane, the owner, and Adam, the project manager, they employed a motto of, "We just want to make you happy," which we heard often from them. And, they mean it. They listened to the entire scope of my detailed plans - which I admit, likely seemed over the top - and didn't flinch. There were many calls and texts leading up to the start of construction which instilled confidence in us. We decided early on to break up the project into two parts. Phase One included extending our kitchen into a combined kitchen/family room addition with French doors leading to a huge composite wood deck. Early on, we chose a decking we liked and had it delivered early. However, by the time we picked the siding color, we realized the decking wouldn't work. This is where Adam's interpersonal skills really shine. At no time did he make us feel bad for wanting to swap it for something else. He got on the phone with the hardware store immediately and arranged for us to meet in person to discuss what was in stock. And in the end, we wound up with something we liked even better! Adam was also very easy to get in touch with, by text or phone. In one situation after we broke through on our addition, our ceiling leaked. It was a Sunday morning when we discovered a puddle of water and Adam came over to address it. In the middle of rainy conditions, he was up on our roof fixing the issue. While our addition was being built, we also remodeled to make a proper dining room and living room. This involved extensive HVAC work to open up the wall between these two rooms. Adam's uncle, who was part of the HVAC team, was absolutely instrumental in planning and executing this complicated task. We appreciated his creativity in figuring out how to re-route some ductwork and get the fan on our new furnace working properly. It was at this time we also decided to completely replace our old furnace and water heater so both would perform better with all these home renovations. This was not part of our original plan and would cost us a substantial amount of money. We really appreciated Shane releasing us from that part of the contract to reduce our overhead costs. At every turn of this project, Shane was cognizant of the changes we were making and ways to keep the cost low. It's just one of the many ways he demonstrates how he cares and advocates for his customers. All of the home renovations Timeless Remodeling did for us included custom woodwork and trim work. They installed crown molding above the pass-through between the dining and living room spaces. We also had a huge, custom built-in bookshelf and cabinets made for the new living room. When the first subcontractor fell through, Shane was quick to bring in his father who has extensive experience doing cabinetry work and it shows. In the end, we felt like we had hit the lottery. We're immensely thankful for the time and effort he put into the project because it came out gorgeous! And because Phase One was going so well, we decided to tack on a laundry room remodel, too. This included some framing, drywall, floor leveling, and new laminate flooring. Phase Two began approximately 7 months later which included adding a small front porch addition, paver driveway, walkways, backyard patio, and a concrete pad for a new shed. We were quite nervous about picking out stone veneer and pavers that worked well with our new siding. Like with everything else, Adam was there with help and guidance and suggestions. Towards the end of Phase Two, we tacked on a small garage remodel as all of the sheetrock in there was old and spent. It also involved some electrical work, extensive plumbing, and basic carpentry. After two years of home renovations, we find ourselves over the moon with everything Timeless Remodeling has done for us. This has been a life-changing experience. Outside, we have a beautiful front porch to sip drinks on in the late afternoon, a deck to entertain a large group of friends, and a patio where we can have a fire pit. And inside, we finally have the space to host friends and family, an amazing kitchen to cook in, and a cozy family room to watch tv. If you're looking for general contractors in New Jersey, Timeless Remodeling is really a one-stop shop. We wouldn't hire anyone else to do this work, to hold our hands through it all even when the decision-making seemed overwhelming. There's something to be said for having gone through this much home remodeling and you come out on the other end with a lot of laughs and feeling like the people who did the work are more like family.

On the day the job was done, they arrived at 7 AM and proceeded to lay down protective tarps and immediately got to work finishing in about four hours (small house, 3 bedroom ranch). The roofing crew was huge, nine people, and they work feverishly and constantly doing all the needed jobs. By the time the roof was done the area had been completely cleared of debris and put in their dumpster truck to haul away. I even witnessed one worker coming through bushes on the border with my neighbor making sure he got everything that may have blown into the shrubs. The price was reasonable: $7200 for the job on a simple 975 square foot ranch house. They also offered a discount for cash which I waived. I was deeply concerned about hiring a roofer, but they came highly recommended and certainly lived up to the reputation they have built among my friends and Metuchen.

As they knew, we have a tenant who has a day off today and needed to go out and my husband needed to leave for work 12:30. She reached out to the tech 3x. At 12:15 I heard from him insisting he is on time. He arrived by 12:25. He was far from on time. My husband took him quickly into the tenant's empty attic to show a concern. In the interim he left me 3 color charts, which were quite similar. He went up on one side of the duplex w a ladder. We offered water, soda..... . It is a cooler day. When he came down I showed him quickly two gray colors. All he said was when you get your estimate there will be a figure from Cambridge and a figure for the color you choose of IKO. I asked him to explain this and said we are on a tight budget with me being downsized 6 years ago and pushed into early retirement. He focused on one book with an adhesive under the shingle. I asked, is that how the shingle is held down? HE YELLED AT ME saying I said shingles are nailed down. Being polite and having worked 40 years with professional NYC attorneys I bit it. I asked him bear with me because I I am nervous with a Sloan Kettering Consult next week. He yelled at me I AM NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR PERSONAL PROBLEMS. He had some looks to give my son, who was leaving from lunch from our home that wasn't even addressing him. He entered short on patience walking across our lawn both ways. He never went to the back of the house nor did he measure anything. He was unprofessional, rude, obnoxious, waste of our time and I told him he was rude to me and he defied me arguing. I put his books on the table near him. He left them. Penyak, if you want your books come get them. I left 3 messages with the secretary that if the owner or manager wasn't going to call us today, that I was going to post the story. He should be fired.
