They are knowledgeable, answered questions tha really helped with a decision related to kerosene vs oil. After I chose #2 oil with a low cost additive (which they provided as well), the furnace in my newly purchased home ran more efficient and my home stayed warmer longer. The last tenants used kerosen, my furnace switched on and off like a kid playing with a light switch. With #2 oil with additive, the furnace does not do that, in turn, my electric bill will be lower because it needs electricity to turn on. Other oil companies were not knowledgeable with the use of an oil tanks capability for using oil or kerosen, and highly recommended the more expensive kerosen, which they were not providing at the beginning of the season, plus they advised against it. In addition, one of them had stuffy staff when it came to scheduling and new customers, delivering only on certain days of the wee. I did my online search prior to calling any of them. Sinclair was the only company who knew the grade of oil #2, knew and carried the additive and, that the same tank could be used. Plus, friendly and expedient. Sinclair home heating is a rare find. Dishonest scammers! Had the service team come out to replace the insulation in my stove (which they…read moresaid they do when I stopped in to ask in person) but they didn't have the replacement insulation with them when they came. Instead of calling me or saying they can't when I made the appointment, they showed up knowing they couldn't do any work and charged me $140 for the service call. Waste of time and money for absolutely nothing! While at my house they told me I could order stove insulation on Amazon and cut it to size, which tells that it's a universal standard and not some unique part for my stove. They either didn't want to do the work so they said they didn't have it so they could go home early, or they knew in advance so they could scam me. Can't believe how dishonest this local business is. And the cherry on top is they said they would call me in the morning to give me an estimated time of when they would come but I never got a call. I called them around 11 to find out and they said between 2-4, they showed at 4:15. I waited all day for them just to be scammed This happened 3 months ago and today they sent me an invoice for service. I called and spoke with a woman over in finance, explained what happened, told her the credit card company agreed with me and refunded me, and she said they will never do business with me again and hung up on me... as if I would ever go to them again lol

Foster today…read more After getting extremely faint whiffs of propane around the home I recently purchased (others couldn't smell it at all), I finally called today, simply to ask some questions about it. I am financially struggling right now, so I was hesitant to have them come out in case I was imagining it. The smell really was that faint. I spoke to Jared, asked my questions, and he picked up on how stressed out I was about it right away. He was compassionate with my situation, explained the process, what the billing would look like (less than I thought!), and explained how important it is to trust your gut when it comes to propane. So, I had them come out and I'm so glad I did. They found multiple small leaks in the line to my water heater and also discovered that the previous owners used the wrong regulator when they did a DIY conversion from an oil to a propane furnace. They do not deliver to remote areas after about 1 October. I stopped using RH because I need new 100 gallon propane tanks and theirs were twice as expensive as a competitor in Hermon.
