She immediately improved the quality of my life, and I am very grateful. I had an entire driveway AND yard FULL of boxes that I've been dragging for the past 10 years. I kept deluding myself that I would get it done myself. But I have some health issues that cause significant fatigue, and I am a person that is easily overwhelmed. Needless to say, the job wasn't getting done. Finally, after several months, I called Karen out of desperation when a rainstorm was forecast. She didn't run the other way, which in itself should tell you something about her. Instead, she set about facilitating my sorting and deciding what to do with each piece item in the jumbled pile of (mostly) crap that got haphazardly thrown into boxes during a series of moves. After about 5 hours, we got through about 90% of the items, which were then either thrown away or put into piles designated 1) donate, 2) give away and 3) keep. What remained was placed into compact tidy & well organized piles either in the house or under a tarp secured with bricks. Luckily it didn't rain that night, or any night for another month. :-) But I finally admitted to myself that I wasn't going to get the project finished on my own - too much baggage, literal and figurative. So Karen came back several more times. Everything that had been sorted into the "keep" piles was put away into a designated space. I finally had my house back!!! We didn't finish everything, I haven't been entirely diligent about keeping things organized, so I have a little more work to do. Karen's coming back soon. I am confident the job will be completed under budget. And I'll be restored to sanity and happiness. She's a saint. And she's great at what she does. If I could give her 40 gazillion stars, I would.

It might sound funny -- a Feng Shui Master who needs help from a professional organizer, but sometimes it's tough to do certain areas of your home. I had a mental block about the basement. Anyway, Carla came over, cheery as pie, with bags and boxes, sharpies, and paper. We went at it with a vengeance. It was SO easy!! And I daresay pleasant! Carla was never forceful about getting rid of things -- in fact she was so gentle, that I would end up saying "Forget it -- let's toss it!!" (I think there's a method to her madness).
