The guys even frequently stopped to admire items and would ask if they could keep little trinkets. The crews worked really hard and will hustle to get the job done. They also do a great job of saving photos and items that look like heirlooms. We felt most crews were respectful and even offered tips on how to repair or sell stuff. If not for what went wrong below, we would have had consistently 5-STAR experiences. Where things took a turn was in the last cleanout, a large crew came to clear the rest of the home. Unlike prior crews that took great care in bagging up items and carefully disassembling furniture, this crew kept breaking perfectly good dishes, glassware, vases, books, figurines, antique sculptures, furniture, artwork, wood-framed mirrors, and more. They would toss bags across the room and I would hear entire bags of glass shatter. About half of these items were smashed to smithereens and definitely not making it to new homes. A mahogany table, several chairs, and solid wood bookshelves were also extremely damaged from how they were being moved around and stacked. A primary reason we hired Junkluggers over competitors was for their eco-friendly mission to donate and recycle items! The stuff that was left in the last round included complete china sets now smashed to bits, newly released books that were thrown in with cleaning supplies, perfectly intact art pieces now ripped, branded glassware still in original boxes, etc. Had we known that they would treat this round like this, like rotting garbage, we would have waited and made an effort to offer these items and furniture to family, friends, neighbors, charities, and local groups. It broke my heart watching nice things get destroyed, even though this stuff did not belong to my immediate family. I did get frustrated enough to ask why they kept breaking everything, and the guys just shrugged and said they were running out of time. While they met their commitment of clearing the home, I would think twice before hiring them again, as the degree to which they treat items seems to vary and did not leave me feeling confident that most of it will be donated or recycled.

I think they were in a rush or something perhaps this is why. He did not clean the entire basement as discussed and claimed afterward he wasn't informed of the other areas. During his estimate he saw these area entire basement. These other areas were not a surprise to him. These areas were also very important. Not only did he NOT clean them , you can hardly tell the rest of it was done. We attempted to contact him again and we receive no response!!! Unbelievable ! VERY disappointing and A RIP OFF! My clean out required coordination between 2 homes and a fumigation of one. The team of 3 emptied (including removing wall to wall carpet), cleaned and sanitized a 2 bedroom apartment, and moved clean furniture from another home (45 minutes away) into the now freshened home. We contracted with the junkluggers to clean out my mom's apartment on Wednesday June 24th. On June…read more18th, I had emailed Junkluggers the certificate of insurance that my mother's building required. On June 23rd at 9AM, I called to see if the COI was ready to be sent to the building and I was told it was not done yet. I called at noon and at 3:00 and every time was told the same thing, it was being worked on. Then at 4:00 I was told the Internet was down and the COI would not be sent until the following morning which was the day of the appointment. I reminded them that if the building did not get the COI, the appointment would have to be canceled. Thankfully the district manager was able to email the COI to me at 5:00 which I then forwarded to the building management. When we had made our appointment, we were told we'd be getting four workers and two trucks to clean out the apartment, instead one truck and two men showed up. The men who showed up did a good job but once the truck was filled, they had to leave. My mother's apartment building did not allow furniture removal after 4PM and we were told the company had no idea when the second truck would arrive. We were advised to reschedule and have the second truck come Friday morning. We were told we would be first on the schedule for Friday, but the truck did not arrive at my mom's apartment until almost 11 o'clock. The two men on the second truck had a lot of problems figuring out how to remove the remaining furniture from the apartment and had to be told several times to take out all the remaining furniture and bags. Pro: They honored the estimate even though our final load was slightly more than estimated Con: The COI should had been completed earlier and not delayed until right before the appointment. When you contract for four men with two trucks, that is who should show up for the job. We should not be inconvenience to have to come back a second day.
