Had the absolute best time at Revenge! The staff was on point. The queens were on glam, music was great and drinks were strong. Hands down one of the best times I've had out. I've never yet had a night out at Revenge that didn't end spectacularly - the place has a great atmosphere, cheap drinks, and good (sometimes cheesy, but in the best way) music. It's a welcoming environment (there are gender neutral toilets so everyone can feel safe and comfortable), and even the bouncers are super friendly, which is unusual for a club - when they run events with a photographer, the bouncers always seem to get in on the action and have their pics taken too! Revenge also runs some brilliant drag events. The house queens (Lydia L'Scabies, Rococo Chanel and Crystal Lubrikunt - plus the new addition, Nosferatu, and yes you read that correctly...!) are all brilliant, charismatic and unique performers, and the Powder Room nights often have RuGirls headlining as well. Even though I live in London, I look forward to the nights when I have an excuse to come down to Brighton, get my Revenge on and drink far too many blue WKDs! read more

As a straight person in a gay club, I love this place and go a lot. It's cheap, it's cheerful, they play cheesey music until 4am. I don't see what's not to like. A great vibe, everyone happy and getting on fine. If there were £2.50 drinks in straight Brighton til 4am, there'd be punch ups everywhere! That's why I like the Revenge. From cheesey disco and pop anthems to skater rock, it's got it all. If you like dancing like a twat to Wheatus or Whitney Houston, this is the place to be. There's a second floor with a more dance vibe to it, so there is choice. You'd be surprised at the amount of straight people in there, especially big groups of girls. There's often live acts in there from guest DJs to X Factor rejects. If you want to dance and have fun I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Revenge is a tiny gay club situated on the border of Kemp Town. Open late every night, it's the ideal destination for boys and girls that want to keep partying once the nearby bars have closed. I've only been a handful of times and have to admit, the atmosphere is great as everyone seems to be up for a good time. Right now, they are running a series of X-Factor nights each Friday with contestants that have been booted off the show performing short PAs. Last week it was Jamie Afro, this week it'll be the talentless twins, John and Edward!! I'd go back to Revenge if I was with friends that wanted to keep drinking. I'd never consider stepping through the sober however. If you want a slice of the eccentric, friendly and cosmopolitan gay scene in Brighton, Revenge is the ultimate club to go to. They are renowned for their upbeat themed nights, most recently being their 'Glee' night. This club is a fantastic place to go if you want to dance all night to some cheerful songs! The music usually ranges from pop to cheese to chart! The atmosphere is simply full of energy and the dance floor has an interesting layout with layers and platforms that you can dance on. Here you'll usually find a middle aged, tangoed man wearing a bright yet extremely tight tank t-shirt with leather trousers. They do cheap drinks on week nights and on a Saturday it's still fairly cheap for Brighton. I think this club is definitely somewhere everyone should go to at least once. read more

I.ve been to revenge loads of times and I have to give a mixed review of it. Since the refurbishment it looks allot better than it did before. The drinks are ok priced I think they need a few more drinks promotions though. I think they need to mix up the dj sets a bit sometimes u can just guess what song is coming next. As a gay lad I was really off put this sat from the amount of hen parties and straight couples taking it over. I went hear last week, for the first time ever and to tell you the truth, I bloody loved it. I'm used to the underground sites and scenes of Digbeth in Birmingham, Vauxhall and Shoreditch in London, but this was just as enjoyable as all of these! The drinks where cheap, the music was camp as tits but it made for a fabulous evening. Shame I had to be up early for meetings the following day! read more

My husband seems to end up in Revenge without fail on every night out in Brighton! It's one of the places you can go without any aggro or issues. It's got some great room choices so there is something for everyone, and to be honest, if you love a bit of cheese, you're all set. As a woman it feels nice to be somewhere without worrying about men pressing their crotches to your bum - it's a novelty to actually have a good old dance with your friends without such worries. The staff are really helpful too, my friend forgot their coat one evening and we went back the next day for it and the staff couldn't have been more helpful - she got her coat back (if not her pride at the night's messy outcome!) read more

Sadly I've got to give revenge a serious downgrade. I'm usually of the opinion that it doesn't really matter where you go on a night out, it's the company you're with that makes it! However on the past few occasions even this hasn't been Revenge's saving grace. The place has recently been completely renovated, although to be honest it doesn't look that much different, just a bit shinier and cleaner and the entry fee has risen as a result. The music on the pop level is still pretty bad, it wouldn't be so bad if the DJ could actually mix properly. On my most recent visit I'd brought a few friends from out of town. We paid, stayed for 10 minutes and left it was so poor. It's such a shame as I've been going to revenge for years, but alas no longer! I don't understand how in a place like Brighton a club could get it so wrong! Legends is the bar of choice from now on. read more

The nice thing about Revenge is it feels really inclusive. I can go there with my gay mates and a few straight friends, or some lesbians and you don't get the "this is a members only" bull**** you get elsewhere in the country. The door staff do a good job of keeping the trouble out (or getting them out if a few slip through the net) so I'm guessing that's probably why there's a few people moaning about them on here and other review sites. They're probably the drunken idiots that are spoiling the night for everyone else. It's not got that sleazy cruisy feel that you get in the 'old school' gay clubs. It's more about a fun / safe place to hang out and party. I prefer house music to the chart stuff they play on the main floor, so I tend to go on a Thursday or Saturday, when the 'second' room is open... but having said that the pop floor isn't a 'cheese fest' of non-stop girl bands. I can survive it after a few pints haha. read more

Despite most of us being straight, we still all had a great, messy time here, so regardless of your sexuality, I'd recommend Revenge to you. read more

As far as gay bar go I can't really claim to be a connoisseur. I do however enjoy the odd excursions to Revenge. It has a great atmosphere full of fun and frolics and the entertainment on offer is grade A camp bravado. It was really funny when they had the X-factor contestants playing there every Friday after they had previously that week been voted off. Another good night to go to that is the king of Brighton's gay Saturday nights is Kinky Dangerous which has Dulcie Danger bringing the dangerous house. read more

As it plays host to a number of regular, themed nights- recently putting on X-factor's Jedward- Revenge is a late-night gay club where fun and frolicking are always the order of the night. Despite it's small size the atmosphere is outrageously fun and as the doors stay open till 4 or 5 am it's great for an all-nighter. Prices are slightly more expensive than your average place but with so many drinks promotions, you're bound to find some great deals. Whether you're gay or straight I have to recommend you visit at least once just for the experience. read more

For £8 gay people expect more for their money, flipping sort it out, Revenge used to be the place to go, now its the place to avoid, known as Club Regrets or Club Scavenge by some of my friends instead of Club Revenge!!!! Bar and Door staff are generally very good and friendly, although there is an ignorant rude Irish bloke on the main door most nights! We go elsewhere if we see him! In my view Revenge is a very good Gay club Brighton, its very close to St James Street and a lot of Gay Bars so worth tripping into just about any night. They work really hard to keep it appealing in the face of some very strong competition but it can seem a little unfriendly if over aged 35. Its not small but it is over 2 floors so it can seem smaller than it is. On the whole, very good and worth a visit The Roof top terrace is amazing ! read more

This place is rife with phone thieves - I would avoid it! Me and three of my friends have all had our phones stolen in this club in the past year. Just had an unexpectedly good night out. Down visiting some friends who suggested we went out for karaoke. Had a few drinks... and I was convinced to go clubbing. I'm from London and the gay scene is basically non existant when it comes to Tuesday night clubbing so I expected Brighton to be the same. Not at all. Great music, CHEAP drinks. Good crowd. Only regret is that I gotta leave before 2am so I can get up on time tomorrow ;) getting OLD! read more
