I grew up dancing as a kid but after high school, there really wasn't anything further I could do at my home studio, so I stopped dancing altogether. A few years passed and I missed dancing so much and decided to search and see if any studios in the city offered adult classes. That's when I stumbled upon Dance Code. From Ballet to Hip Hop to dancing in heels, and from beginner to intermediate to advanced levels, this studio really has so much to offer the adult dance community. All classes are drop-in and you can buy an unlimited monthly class pass, so you can try them all!! The owner, Sarah Torkoly, has created something really special at this studio. It is such a positive, fun, and encouraging atmosphere where everybody is made to feel welcome. I highly recommend this studio to all!!

I've contacted the website twice with no response and messaged Sarah Torkely herself but I haven't been able to recoup my money even though she told me I should be refunded. Very confusing and disorganized classes and website. Will not be recommending to anyone

I previously left a positive review earlier in my training; after completing over 2 years in the…read morecompetitive ballroom dance program, my perspective has evolved after the full experience, and here are as follows below: I trained at Elite Dance Studio as an adult in the Pro-Am competitive ballroom dance program for approximately 2.5 years. During that time, I invested significant time and financial resources into private lessons, competitive practices, and competitions (local and out-of-province). I practiced consistently, reviewed videos, took detailed notes, and actively asked for feedback on progression. The instructors are technically skilled, and the studio emphasizes discipline and competitive standards. For adult competitive students, here are important considerations: * There was no written or objective progression framework outlining typical timelines between levels * Advancement criteria were not formally documented and relied on instructor assessment * Progress discussions were primarily verbal rather than structured in measurable benchmarks * Costs can escalate beyond private lessons (competitive practices, mock events, visiting coaches, Pro-Am competitions, etc.) * Dance competition expenses can range approximately $1,000-$3,500+ per event, excluding travel and accommodations This model may work well for students who are comfortable with open-ended timelines and long-term financial commitment. For adults seeking clearly defined benchmarks, written evaluation criteria, and predictable budgeting, I recommend clarifying expectations in detail before committing to an intensive competitive track. Ultimately, I chose to step away because the financial structure and progression model no longer aligned with my personal goals. This review is shared to provide transparency for future competitive students so they can make informed decisions.

As a social dancer, my favourite part about the teaching method is the focus on building blocks instead of very specific patterns. I love that the studio is committed to all three of the main dance styles one would encounter at a Latin dance event (i.e. Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba) and their monthly free vibes events are a great way for people to get a taste of the studio's curriculum and meet some new people in the mini-social held after the class. As of this year, the studio expanded into performance teams in all three dance styles, so there is something here for everyone.

Reviewing this place is difficult because it does a lot of things right, and a lot of those things…read morearen't necessarily obvious to someone who is just starting, but the TLDR is that imho, Rythms is probably the best, and fastest resource to learn Salsa and Bachata in Edmonton. Strengths: - The environ replicates battlefield conditions, so to speak, moves are introduced with variations that encourage both leads and follows to try different things and not simply repeat choreographies through rote memorization. - The classes are longer than any other studio I've tried, and there are 30 mins of music played after class for one to practice. - Excellent community, everyone is rather friendly, and there are usually quite a few people who will be up to practice after every class. - Focus is on being able to lead, and follow the moves studied, and not on merely replicating how they look. This is the biggest one for me, as understanding the principles behind the how and why of moves makes one able to do them with anyone, and not merely the other people in some particular class who remember some particular choreography. - Classes are much more frequent than in other studios, allowing for faster progress if one desires, there are 2 Salsa and 3 Bachata classes a week, as well as 4 free socials every month, which have rather decent attendance. -Very, very punctual and professional: In the time I've attended (about 3 months now), I have not experienced a single class being cancelled, or starting late, for any reason. I have been very pleasantly surprised by this. - 50 dollars for every class offered in a 30 day period is quite a steal. That's up to seven two hour classes a week. Weaknesses: - The area the studio is in is not the best, and the place can be hard to find, there is a sticker on the outside door, but that's it. It does show in Google Maps, though. - I swear the washrooms were in the Silent Hill games.

I am feeling very weird to have to leave this bad review as over the past 3 years I have had a very…read moregood experience with Aradia and the company owner Chantelle (and all other staff). I really enjoyed my classes and the company overall has been great. Unfortunately however, my feelings are turning otherwise during a recent interaction. I have lots of class passes and account credit on my account, but due to a recent illness/disability I am no longer able to attend. I asked for a refund for my $375 account credit and they quickly agreed to do it, yet I never received the refund. Long story short, due to either employee error or negligence I am now out $375 and Aradia is not taking any accountability. More details: Because I had originally made this $375 account credit payment on an old credit card that I no longer have access to, when I requested the refund I specifically made it clear that the refund must go onto my new card and gave them that number. Unfortunately in the end it has been made very clear they either A) accidentally put the refund on the card I have no access to, or B) didn't do the refund at all Personally I think it is A. Because I have previously had very good experiences with the company and don't see them to be deceitful and do something such as B (not doing the refund at all). However after hours of communication with my credit card company over the following weeks, it has been confirmed and made very clear the return was NOT put onto my credit card. Now Aradia will not give me my $375 back as in their eyes they already did (but they put it onto a old work credit card that I have no access to), so because of their own error I am losing $375. Because I understand how POS systems work and how this accident could have happened (returns are often automated to the card the payment was originally purchased from but because I knew this is how most POS systems work I made it clear the return was to be put on a specific credit card from the beginning) I asked them if they would be willing at the very least to put that $375 account credit back on my account instead of issuing a whole new return. They completely ignored my request and said it wasn't their problem. My next step is going to small claims court as I have a email log with Aradia claiming/confirming with certainty the money was returned into the card I wanted it to be on. And I also have records from my bank confirming they did not issue the return. Which means like I said earlier they either put the return on a wrong credit card (that I have 0 access too) or didn't do the return at all. To some people $375 is not a lot of money, but to me it is and it makes a difference in my life (especially at a time like now with a disability) which is why I will continue to go through all this effort to get it back.

I like that they have their class etiquettes posted in the lobby for your viewing pleasure and learning prior to class (in case you missed it online). There are two rooms - the main pole studio room (with a handful of poles) and a smaller second room with workout equipment like weights, mats and some other stuff. I wasn't there for pole class unfortunately and didn't get to try the poles this time around, but will have to go back to test them out at some point This review is geared towards the Acro yoga practice class I took, which was great! The room is a little narrow so it's perfect for smaller group classes, and I appreciate he availability to practice Acro yoga here once a week The 'instructor' Adam worked with our small group of ladies at different experience levels and got us all to practice some basic Acro moves/postures (and a harder one for fun). Definitely works your core strength and muscle stability while practicing in a safe environment If anyone hasn't tried it before, I highly suggest coming to this one Friday nights! Great place to practice, start learning, or come try it out once

The studio is on the second floor so we were a little lost at first, but found our way once we stepped inside the building. Our workshop was an hour long, but it flew by so fast. We had such an amazing time. Both Alex and Ana were so sweet, friendly, and very helpful. Alex was cracking jokes throughout the class, helping us feel comfortable too. I look forward to coming back in the future, for more beginner-friendly workshops or even dance lessons. Thank you for having us! :)

I highly recommend Simba who was our instructor as he was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable at the dance lesson. I hope to do more dancing with E-Town Salsa again in the future!
