I ordered the octopus (in a can) with some bread as I had filled myself on snacks in the Air France lounge at CDG a few hours earlier and enjoyed a glass of Rose. The waitress was lovely and spoke English to help me along. I sat outside and watched the sunset. This is important to know: they take AMEX! Most places in Europe do not and I was so happy to have my corporate AMEX accepted. I highly recommend for a small bite after taking in the sight of Basel.

My most recent visit - which will definitely be my last - the place was 75% empty and there were multiple waiting staff on hand with very few customers to look after. Despite this, I had to request the wine list, which was finally given to us about 5 minutes later when we ordered our food. I then had to flag the waiter down 15 minutes later to take our wine order, which arrived after our food. We finished our meal and waited for about 25 minutes before anyone arrived to clear our plates and offer us dessert. By this point we were so frustrated and had basically lost our appetite so we declined dessert and asked for the bill. So the overall experience was not defined by the food, which is very good if a little pricey, but by the truly abysmal service. I have probably been to Noohn 10 times in the last 6 years or so, but I won't be returning again.
