I only have a couple gripes. I rented the 3rd floor one bedroom apartment. The people on the 2nd floor below me have to suffer when i walk up here, due to it sounding like I am stomping ....but I am not stomping. The berber carpet has virtually No padding, thus the 2nd floor hear every step I take. In fact, the floor even vibrates. I mentioned this to the office staff, they explained that the building is old, but sturdy. Which is true, as far as i can tell. My apartment inside is awesome, however; the appearance of the complex, namely its 1970-ish look should be updated. It reminds me of Kings Court in Miami Florida when I lived there and Donnie Brasco was there. But for the price you cant beat this place. It is close to every thing, I just love it here. Oh, my other gripe was that this building I am in, only has one washer and dryer for 12 units. Thats like crazy. The last place I rented via RentDotcom was in Orchard Park, NY, and it had 12 units but had 5 washers and dryers for the building. Currently I have like 40 lbs of laundry to do and cant seem to get to the washer before anyone else. So I have decided to sort through my laundry and throw out most of it. Oh well. Thats life. So to sum up my opinion, this is a Great Place to live! Oh, if you have pets, they have a Pet Building here! Very nice! I wish I had brought my dog, Im so lonely here. But thats another story. The place has a nice pond area and the staff is friendly ! They are rather quick when it comes to maintenance and usually correct the problem within a day and respond back quickly. They shovel and keep the area maintained well! Overall I am happy with the place and will probably continue to stay here until I graduate college.

Oh, where to begin? The absolute worst place I've ever lived (though it's a billion times worse now…read morethan at any point during which I lived there). Dirty, bad tenants, loud, criminal activity, incidents of domestic violence, unkempt-looking apartments, squatters, and lackluster management. This complex gets worse every single year that passes by. Get this straight: the place is foul. It's a sad, sad sight to behold these days, it truly is. The worst part of it is that Sunset Village wasn't like this several years ago. Once a stately-looking Art Deco apartment complex is largely now in ruins, overtaken by time, neglect and rampant crime. It's been sold multiple times (more times than anyone really knows) and has been under various "management teams" for years, mostly real estate groups with no physical presence in this country, let alone the community. There is no real on-site security or maintenance, which explains the level of squatting that has currently become a real problem. The city has been slow to recognize this growing tempest of a situation, though there has been some talk of razing all of the buildings and starting over, but who knows? Unfortunately, Sunset Village is located within a pretty nice residential area across the street from a golf course and park near the hospital, so it's become not only an eyesore for the local community, but a source of exploding criminal activity in recent years. I couldn't wait to move out when I did (which was years ago), although in retrospect, the place was like Buckingham Palace compared to what it looks like today. Centipedes have taken up resident in the apartments, which is truly pathetic, not to mention disturbing as hell. There are drunks and addicts sleeping in the hallways and milling around the doorways, grafitti scrawls etched along the exterior of the complex and missing brickwork on some of the buildings.

They have a cleaning crew that keeps the hallways cleaned. I seriously have no complaint and I am happy with my stay here for 2 years now in my 3 bdr. Very spacious. Also several different school bus stops pick up right in the front parking lot. It's quiet most of the time day and night everyone seems to work no loud partying no high traffic. Only thing I can say is be careful of the raccoons and cats in the trash at night.

They take the phone calls but do not respond to the site of the problem; at least when it comes to violations of the property's noise policy. This has occurred numerous times. The water heaters are very old...more than 25 years...and there is only one per 12 units. Because of the age, it takes longer to get hot water and more water is wasted getting it. Residents pay an additional $15 a month, per occupant, for water. Maintenance is slow to respond and often takes a second phone call to remind staff of the issue(s). The drive (Ridgebend Dr.) leading to the property is eroding, with three large areas that started as small potholes but as winter progresses, will surely get larger and deeper. The rent is reasonable but may soon go up with each lease renewal. The property management company is in the process of adding low maintenance siding to every building, giving a much needed face lift.

The products are cheap. My closet door by my front door breaks every time the rude maintenance man attempt to fix it. It's to the point where I just let the doors dangle now. My blinds are missing like 6 and they broke while trying to open my blinds, on their own. He's also so rude, talks to tenants like they are children. I had to give him a piece of my mind a few times. My cabinets are falling apart. And they agreed to give me a echo dot when I renewed my lease. Needless to say 7 months later, I still haven't received it and they jacked my rent $40. And a few months ago they started sending out bills that cost $5 additional to remind you of how much rent you pay and when it's due. The reason "so tenants requested it" that's what the girl in the office said. AS IF YOU DID NOT SIGN A LEASE! I told them I don't need it to save my $5 but I still have to pay it! Any way to make a dollar. Like the other reviewer mentioned...this place will soon be a section 8 apartment complex and others still paying top dollar for these apartments. They need to upgrade these apartments for these prices.
