RENTERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!! i just recently signed my 3rd lease at this complex and am instantly…read moreregretting it. my bathroom ceiling was leaking for quite awhile to which the maintenance team couldn't care less about, literal water dripping from my ceiling/SQUISHY ceiling and they tried to tell me there was no water damage and everything was fine. after weeks of going back and forth via email, they finally hired outside contractors to "fix" my issue and told me once the job is completed, they will add a balance to my account which would go towards my rent. fast forward TWO MONTHS, after leaving gaping holes in my ceilings for weeks on end, the job was almost finished when another problem arose in my master bathroom, the ceiling/wall is quite literally BUBBLING UP. i have taken photos and documented every step of this god awful experience and sent them into what i believe to be a higher up at georgetown apartments. my first bathroom problem has finally been fixed but i haven't heard a single word from anyone about the bubbling ceiling in my additional bathroom and NO BALANCE has been added to my account. the rent is too high for them to completely ignore issues like this!! PLEASE do not sign a contract with these people, it's just one headache after the next!!

If I could give zero stars I would. This place has given me multiple letters saying I owe them…read moremoney for various things, like for not submitting my apartment insurance to them per a new policy that NOBODY had been told about. I had even had it faxed to them the very day it was due, but coincidentally they lost my paperwork and didn't inform me until months later. At that point, they had already charged my account for all of those months that it was missing. Similar instances have occurred at least 2 other times. Awesome. Thanks, Georgetown. Can't wait to move out next month!

The apartment complex is very nice, however we had multiple issues with the staff while we were…read morethere; the staff (maintenance) let themselves into our apartment several times with no warning and no reason other than that they were doing routine checks. I was in my child's nursery nursing my newborn when I heard knocking from the other room. I couldn't answer the door without waking my child and so I decided I'd let the person at the door think I wasn't home and leave. However, it hadn't occurred to me that the knocker was maintenance and that they would enter the apartment without a response to their knocking. And they did; they came right in. I called management to inform them of the incident explaining that I have a newborn baby and no longer wanted unexpected visits (as well as for a multitude of other reasons, one being if I was in the shower and could not hear the knocking at the door). I explained to the manager that I also wouldn't want maintenance to accidentally enter my apartment when I am unaware of their presence (if I were showering or sleeping) especially because I have a baby. The manager raised her voice at me multiple times stating that they would continue to enter my apartment whenever they wanted. I finally told her to either sign a note on my lease requiring my permission to enter my apartment otherwise my husband and I would take the matter up with the landlord. Needless to say, the staff there are untrustworthy... And kind of creepy.

Apartment complex got new owners a little over a year ago and immediately raised rent, and stopped…read moredoing upkeep. They refused to repair anything then charged me over $300.00 ABOVE my $550.00 security deposit (which I felt I should have gotten back!). The fees they charged me for in repairs were blatant lies. Basically they charged me about $900 to move out of the place because I refused to live at a place where you couldn't get any appliances repaired!!! I'm going to take them to court. Take my advice, DO NOT MOVE IN. They scam anyone who eventually leaves the shithole. I paid on time and gave them 30 days notice that I was leaving and they still charged me a late fee. They even charged me $75 for leaving a nice patio chair outside next to the dumpster (which I did to be nice because it was in good shape and one of the residents would have surely wanted it). They will take advantage of anyone - with the hopes that their past residents won't be able to afford to fight it in court. Well I'm not going to stand for it!

We rented an apartment at Walnut Grove in Fenton, MI. The whole experience was awful! The property…read moremanager, lets call her K, is rude and very unprofessional. While filling out our lease paperwork she said that first months rent would be waived as a November special. Two days later when we came back to finish signing she claimed she never said that. But that's on me as well, I should have recorded that or had her sign something agreeing to that. But moving on. We moved in and for the first couple of weeks everything was fine. That is until I made a complaint about the upstairs neighbors playing their music too loud late at night. My fiance has a daughter and the music would wake her up every weekend. Our lease clearly stated that a complaint was sent in, that it would be taken care of. NOPE! I got an email back saying "you live in an apartment. You should expect noise". After midnight we shouldn't expect to hear music so loud it wakes our child or vacuuming. We also have two dogs, and of course we are responsible for picking up their droppings. ONE time my fiance forgot to bring a bag outside with him. My dogs made a mess and my fiance went back inside to grab a bag and picked up the mess less than 30 seconds later. We got an email and a $5 fine for not picking up the mess immediately. The lease also states that we cannot use a barbecue grill on the property, and that's fine. I agree with that seeing as it's a fire hazard. But no where in the lease does it say that we can't possess a grill. We bought a small travel grill for a family event. We folded it up and set it outside our door. We came home to a handwritten note from management telling us that we are violating the lease and to remove the grill. No, we were not violating the lease and we weren't blocking any fire escapes so I don't see the problem. I am incredibly disgusted with the lack of professionalism and how rude K can be while talking. I have done nothing to deserve her attitude. We were called out for doing a lot of things that we never actually did, but those that were actually causing a problem were never talked to. Like the people above us smoking on the balcony, or the woman using the laundry room in our building for 12+ hours a day several times a week, or the neighbors allowing their guests to park in resident parking forcing me to park in guest parking, or the fact that the yellow lines for parking were completely gone so everyone parked like idiots. None of those issues were handled like they should have been, but of course I'm the issue. The price of the apartment is good for the space you get, but everything in the apartments is outdated and desperately needs updating. I personally wouldn't recommend living at Walnut Grove. There are a lot of kids around who's parents don't watch them or discipline them. Two kids would move rocks in front of our door or would break the fence multiple times a week. On a few occasions those same kids would take my daughters bike to play without permission. Anyway, if you're in a bind and need a cheap place to live it's a decent option. Just don't complain or ask any questions or else K will become a total jerk.
