I was driving down Ohio Street today when I noticed the price of gas on their tall sign with the…read morebig red LED numbers. It was $3.42 (that's credit price, the cash prices was $3.32) when everybody else and I do mean everybody, even the cheaper places, all advertised gas for $3.75. I didn't think the sign was right, but I turned around just to see if the pump matched the sign and it did. I could not understand why they were thirty cents cheaper unless it was to drive foot traffic into their new store. This place opened in December of last year so they have only been open four months. If that is their strategy, it worked on me. I went inside since I was thirsty and just to see what it was like. It is a larger than most Circle K stores. While they do not have a kitchen that takes orders like Wawa (breaking ground this spring at St. Rd. 32 & Hazel Dell Rd. in Noblesville) or Quick Trip, they do have tons of ready to eat food that takes up the whole east end of the store. This is also where there are several fountain drink stations and coffee stations. On the other end of the store is a whole section of wine in addition to the usual beer refrigerators. The entire back wall is all canned or bottled drinks of more than the usual inventory of convenience stores. There is an inside dining counter with a charging station for each seat. Each charging station has one USB and one A/C current plug-in. There is also an outdoor eating area with three tables seating four each. They have a unique self check out station. Instead of scanning the bar code of the item, you just place your items down on this pad that is larger than the largest laptop, keep them separated, and it does the rest. They also have a lottery ticket vending machine for scratch offs which helps with the line not moving slow with people who like to buy a lot of them. I bought my favorite grape Gatorade Zero. Why did it taste better than the ones I get from the grocery? Just because it was a larger size? Baffling!

The pumps have new card readers and work well. Right now, High Street is under construction for the Spring and Summer of 2022. The intersection on which the station sits was completed last year. So entering and exiting off Indiana Ave is easy enough. The one driveway entrance that is closed will probably open up as soon as the sidewalk is done.

The price per gallon is always very nearly the same as my old go-to station. This location will only be a few blocks out of my way. It was not crowded at all here and hasn't been when I have gassed up in the past. But the good news is they have a full service convenience store available here. Plus there is a Noble Roman's Pizza inside this store as well. When you are on the go and have no time to stop for fast food even through a drive-thru, as I was today running errands then heading out for Plainfield for an eye doctor appointment, their already cooked individual pizzas sitting under the warmers were ideal. The pizza was pretty good considering it was made in advance. Better than a hot dog in my opinion. Restroom was out of order today, but that looked very temporary since is was a hand printed sign on the door. Oh yeah, they had the new Dr. Pepper Zero in the refrigerated drink cooler. I like the new zero much better than the old diet.

More Than Just A Gas Station!…read more The price of their fuel is generally ten cents a gallon cheaper than stations in Mooresville. They have eight pumps for cars, SUVs and pickup trucks. They also have a separate area with a high canopy for semi trucks that has three pumps. Inside is the usual convenience store plus a "Village" US Post Office, a Subway (the dining area is currently closed) and Chester's Chicken. Chester's fried chicken is pretty decent chicken and very popular with the area's local residents. They also have live bait and refill propane tanks.

But as I drove by on Hwy 67 today, I noticed their price sign and pulled in immediately as they were at least 15 cents cheaper than anyone else in the Mooresville area. I agree with Ken in that I like how this facility is separated from the store by the access road. It makes for easy access to and from the pumps. Additionally, there is a traffic light to exit the Meijer complex instead of a four way stop like down by Walmart which can be a bit more hazardous when traffic is heavy. The video monitor on the pumps say they have updated their card readers to accommodate cards with chips now. Pumping seemed easier than most fuel stations. And I got a paper receipt which is not always the case these days. Don't you just hate it when you press OK for a receipt and it says, "See Cashier?"

I rarely go inside to buy anything since I usually go to Meijer first to pick up what I need, and then come here for a quick fuel up. I like that it is separated from the store parking lot by a road which allows less confusion at the multiple bays for pull ins. Also, because of the location, almost everyone pulls in from the same direction with the simple choice of fueling on the left or right. I often choose the end pump to avoid other vehicles pulling up or leaving. The only negative is that the press buttons on the pump are so worn that they are less responsive than they used to be. A little maintenance would make the operation of the pump go more smoothly. Otherwise, the prices are competitive and they do carry items for both the vehicles and the passengers. Vehicles can also pay to get air in their tires (self serve). Review #2701
