Now that I'm finally done my treatment with Smile Solutions I wanted to leave a final review based…read moreon my experiences here. I have to admit there were many ups and downs during my treatment. The one thing that stands out is the communication between patient and doctor. If at any time you have an issue with where your treatment is going, Dr Black happily answers emails even late at night. My braces came off after 19 months of treatment. When the braces first came off I was given a mirror and to be honest, the first thing I thought was, "oh my god my teeth are crooked!!!" But I left it thinking I just had to get used to it. After about a week or two I emailed Dr Black with pictures voicing my concerns. I got an appointment the very next day to see him and he gave me a few options as to how he'd correct the issues. He took impressions and had a clear retainer made for me at no extra charge. I wore the retainer for an additional 3 weeks and it corrected the issue. I went in for my last appointment to have the lingual bonded retainer put back in. They do take pride in keeping patients happy and do go out of their way for patient's requests. I have to admit I was just nit picking every single thing about every tooth. Poor Dr Black. But he was able to take it. I am a terrible client in general with my hair, nails and pretty much anything that has to do with my vanity, especially my teeth. ;) Come here for all your orthodontic needs whether you need brackets or Invisalign. The team is extremely helpful and friendly (with the exception of one time when Nicole wasn't so friendly at the front desk, but I won't dwell on that.) Dr Black takes real pride in his work and takes all criticism extremely seriously all the time! He also knows about designer handbags because of his wife. Bonus. But don't ask him anything about cars. He has impeccable looking teeth and you can't help but stare at them while you talk to him. Yay Dr Black and the rest of the team at Smile Solutions. Kudos to the hygienists that work there too!! They always do a great job even when they're running late and falling behind schedule. :)

I had one of the worst experiences as a delivery driver with this clinic. They placed a massive…read moreorder--15 combos and 5 large 7kg bags (totaling 35kg). Despite the challenge, I managed to bring everything inside the mall with great difficulty, even calling a friend for help. I went above and beyond to ensure the order was delivered properly. But then, the customer, name Derek L initially set a $12 tip, only to reduce it to $0 after delivery**--a completely disrespectful and exploitative move It's disgraceful to see people devalue hard work like this. If you can't respect the effort of service workers, you shouldn't be placing such demanding orders in the first place. To the **owner of this clinic**, if you care about fairness, **teach your staff to respect workers instead of mistreating them**. This kind of behavior is unacceptable.

Dr. Sky and…read moreher team are very knowledgeable, highly professional, accommodating and are always on time for my appointment. Her office is well kept, and the staff are very warm, polite and welcoming. When I first met Dr. Sky and she began planning my treatment, she put a lot of thought and detail into it. She did not hesitate to explain her plan to me and she took the time to thoroughly answer all my questions. I find Dr Sky herself to be a very warm and friendly person. I put my trust in her and she most certainly did not disappoint me. I am very happy that I chose Royal York Orthodontics / Dr Sky for my Orthodontic treatment and would highly recommend her to anyone. Devika B.

I don't share the other reviewer's glowing comments. The longest Dr. Sky spent with me was during…read morethe initial new patient consultation. The plan, as per the initial consult and numerous e-mails back and forth prior to treatment, was to close a gap due to a missing molar. I paid $7,000 up front. I learned from personal experience that Dr. Sky takes a hands off approach to her patients. During my treatment, Dr. Sky was rarely in the office. The number of times I saw her, which I could probably count on one hand, was mainly for a few minutes before she rushed off. The work was performed by the dental hygienists or the resident dentist and Dr. Sky was not in the office to review their work. The one and only time she reviewed the hygienist's work was for the initial placement of the brackets. It was up to me to repeatedly communicate what the goal of treatment was because the staff didn't seem to know. Today, my front bottom teeth have gaps, where none existed before treatment. I have severe localized gum recession on one of the lower front teeth due to orthodontic forces and carelessness on the part of the hygienist. This one poor tooth was pulled and prodded with excessive force when removing a bracket and on a subsequent visit, when an archwire was placed. During this visit, I thought I was going to pass out from the pain. When I finally had enough and cried out that my lower front teeth were being pulled, the hygienist calmly replied: "I'm not pulling, I'm pushing!" She continued to apply enough force to partially detach the root from the tooth----this was confirmed to me by a periodontist. The pain I suffered and endured for weeks on end from this horrific event was unbelievable! Why a TAD was not considered or placed to close the gap for the missing tooth is anyone's guess. After a year and a half of treatment, the gap that was supposed to be closed is still wide open. I am worse off today than when I started. I now face very expensive gum flap or pinhole surgery, deep cleaning and regular periodontal visits. As a patient and a mom, would I bring my children to be treated by Dr. Sky Naslenas at Royal York Orthodontic Studio? Never!

They promptly examined my tooth and arranged for same-day treatment. Despite the cavity being significant, they skillfully managed to avoid a root canal or tooth loss. Since then, they've become my trusted dentist for all my dental needs. The facility is beautiful, and the staff is exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. They excel at catering to my sensitive teeth, always completing procedures efficiently. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking a new dentist, whether in a pinch or for regular care. They also have quite a wide selection of treatment options masking it an easy choose to get all your dentil needs covered by one place.

It was so bad that I went to 3 different dentists after the fact to remove what they did. I would mention it, but I have no idea what to call what they did. Each dentist I subsequently saw were shocked and have never seen such a procedure. Luckily I was able to remove what they did and found an awesome dentist in the process. Moreover, they said they were going to bill the insurance company for two fillings rather than the procedure they did. So now, if I did get a cavity on those teeth, the insurance company probably will not pay. No thanks. Unprofessional and dishonest not to mention the pain I endured from their "work."
