The insurance had lapsed just prior to the storm and we still owe money on it. Worse than that, though, I had no way to get to work. We asked around, went to other lots and they all couldn't help us or couldn't be bothered. Our credit was already bad before the storm and the out of pocket expenses from the storm had eaten most of our ready cash. Pirate Auto Sales in Greenville to the rescue. They responded to our questions, worked with us on price, and jumped through hoops to get us approved on a REALLY GREAT car that was better than what we would have settled for, and still still was within our means. At no point did we feel taken advantaged of, sleazy or the least bit cheated.To say that they helped lift us up would be an under statement. The other two associates were also incredibly friendly and helpful when walking me through the actual buying process. They made sure I was all set before making my drive home by making sure I had a full sized spare tire, when I brought up my concern that there was no front license plate mount they instantly took action to make sure it was fixed for me, and a full tank of gas! I went to talk to the guy that I have been dealing with for years complaining about this and reminding him that I had an appointment last week that wasn't honored. Even though everyone else I talked to used the term "appointment", he dutifully held the new management line and said, It's not an appointment. It's a "check in time." This is total BS. Everyone on earth knows what an appointment means. It does not mean come on over and maybe we'll get to you and maybe we won't. After 13 years, they have gotten my last dollar.
