This Sunday morning, September 27, '26, at approximately 7:00 AM, called to speak with my loved one…read more(who currently doesn't have a working cellphone) to confirm a paratransit ride pickup scheduled for later this morning. When the phone lines connected and a staff (nurse?) answered, I was treated with usual and expected disdain and disrespect: accused me of being "rude" ...past conversations etc. This person (female?), - - with a Southeast Asian accent - - who kept shouting and lecturing me, wouldn't let me get in a word edge-wise, has been typical of the treatment me and my loved one have received for nearly three years to-date - and- the very reason we are working through proper channels to get him accepted at another senior assisted living facility. We've had several other concerns (bedbugs, rude/druggie roommate, unprovoked physical interactions between my loved one and other male residents), and lack of concern and/or intervention from the so-called Administrator over the years - that has become enough.. Other long-term residents of this County of Los Angeles-operated facility have and have had similar complaints (fake doctor visits, lack of medical interventions, roaches, exterior rats) ; we've experienced some and heard about many from others directly over the years...and have we've made similar reports to the County Department of Health about them. Unbelievable. Think twice before assuming that this place would be best for your loved ones and placing them or having them accepted there. On the only good side we've experienced, the location is convenient and accessible to restaurants, shopping, City Hall senior servicesl, and a nearby hospital. Also, some other evening nursing staff are polite and helpful, but not typical of our experiences to-date. The rest, discussed above, is certainly one-star rated.
