Really fun and cozy place located not too far from the Central Station. I went there for lunch. They serve dumplings, Hawaiian poke, sushi etc. I had the salmon poke with roasted macadamia nuts. If this were in NYC, I'd rate this a two. But given that it's in a city with few options for dim sum / Hawaiian (or whatever this is labeled), Cloud Nine is... fine. The restaurant also serves French cuisine, and although the strange melange of cuisines is jarring at first -- it actually makes a certain amount of sense on the table. The "new style sashimi" wasn't so unlike the beef tartare. The scallops would feel equally at home in Hong Kong or Paris. Drinks were ok, wine pours on the generous side. Our food (which ranged from the above-mentioned scallops, beef tartare, and sashimi to steak frites, crispy duck buns, and Vietnamese king crab rolls) was ok: attractively plated, but dumbed down / bland / gringo / inauthentic to our palates. Service was slightly better than ok. Being the barbaric Americans we are, we asked for ketchup for fries. They had none, but our wait person brought out some bearnaise sauce, which was a nice gesture. read more

We were here as a part of our pub crawl. It was a disappointing way to end our pub crawl, to be honest. We came there at around midnight, an hour before closing time. It was empty with maybe 2-4 people inside beside us, and the emptiness is amplified by the big venue. We felt like we were back in school, in the canteen waiting for our lunch. But the night has been going on well and we had hope still. We ordered our cocktails, they didn't have good variety of it. Or maybe it was just because it was closing time soon and they didn't feel like doing things anymore. Anyway, when the cocktails came and we took the first sip, it felt like something we could've concocted ourselves at home. Not good. I love cocktails but I just couldn't muster myself to finish this one. Despite the fact that I'm a big no sayer to wasting things. I couldn't remember if the waitress was actually nice or not. Maybe she was just a plain Jane, or maybe she didn't care much about us that none of us remembers how the service was like. I mean, obviously it wasn't awful or we would've remembered, but it sure as hell wasn't good (or we surely would've remembered that). So to sum up..mediocre service, cold location and no,no, no coktails. Yep. We definitely wouldn't be back here anytime soon. Not for cocktail anyway. Not on a Saturday night. Maybe not even if we get free drinks. Lucky we didn't have to full price for the cocktails since we got a "buy one get one for free" book. read more

I visited Cloud Nine back when it opened some years ago and then it was perhaps not great but still pretty good and the idea of the dessert room was cool and at least for Sweden something new. The dessert room is no more and has been replaced by a dim sum room and that is where I went for dinner. There are some nice things to say about the place, the service was attentive (a bit too much actually as we wanted some more privacy) and the drinks were fine. The food was however a joke - I was seriously thinking that they must have an intern in the kitchen. We had both the beef and chicken dumplings, the beef ones looked more like tiny Karelian pasties and they promised flavors were not there at all. The best with the chicken dumplings were that the lack of flavor at least did not make them taste bad. In addition we also had the fives spice pork, BBQ ribs and the fresh tuna. The pork was not awful but the actually meat used was not tender enough and should have had more flavor.The ribs were of the kind that a place like Jensens Bofhus may have served and felt pleased with. The tuna was ok but they had not really done anything to improve it - I could not taste the promised chili and the papaya was not there at all. All together a very disappointing display by the kitchen, if this is the quality of the dim sum I would expect a new focus soon again as this was an insult that what dim sum is all about. read more

Had lunch here and can tell you that with the NYc feeling you get and the amazing service, I am going to start going here at least once a month. The chicken salad with spicy peanut dressing was incredible, especially when it was so warm outside. Go early if there is nice weather because there will be a massive line, as it's obviously not as unknown as I thought. read more
