This is my favorite Clothes Mentor to visit--the selection is always incredible! Even better, it's a family-run business that makes you feel truly welcomed and appreciated every single time. I never leave without finding at least one gem and I've been visiting for over 5 years. As for the occasional negative reviews, don't let them deter you. Some people create bot accounts just to unfairly criticize businesses when things don't go their way. If you don't take my word for it--go visit yourself. When I walked in , the two girls behind the counter couldn't even be bothered to smile or say hello . After walking around a bit , I walked by the designer case and smiled at one of the girls who glanced at me , yet no acknowledgement at all . There should be a negative review option. Tried to do business with this company during the hours posted online. The store was a drive for me, but I had already shopped my local store and was looking for something specific. When I arrived, they were closed despite being posted as opened. When I came back a different day, much earlier in the day, I asked about their hours and them being closed when their posted hours claim they are open. I was told in a rude tone they are a small business, they close whenever they want, and told me I don't have to shop there. I assured them I would not be back. From what I could tell during the short time I was there, the mechandise was not comparable to my home store in Eden Prairie so I'm not upset I won't be going back but shocked at the attitude of this "owner". Btw, your 1 star reviews are growing , so it isn't just me. Other customers have complained about your store being closed during business hours. One woman even called ahead to confirm the hours and arrived at your store over an hour before "closing time". When she got there you were closed. I have been a customer for over 5 years but today they lost my business. I was trying to return a dress that didn't fit me and the cashier rolled her eyes and said she was going to review the purchase and receipt, I decided to continue shopping while they do that and then I heard both of the employees talking in my back, calling me names and mentioning my name. They thought I wasn't listening or even understanding what they were saying about me since I am a Latina girl. This whole inside hurt my feelings very badly because I have been a loyal customer for years and I love this concept, I never thought I would be treated this way in this place. The staff is helpful and friendly, the store is clean and bright with a wall of windows. I wanted to sell 4 new swim suits (that I could not return to the store) with the tags and liners still on them. Each suit was originally purchased for $50 per suit and I was hoping to be reimbursed for a fraction of the price. Turns out they gave me $16 and some change for all 4 suits, meaning each suit totaled $4 a piece. I idiotically accepted the amount but really wish I hadn't and gone elsewhere. A complete rip off. I always find great deals here especially name brands like Michael Kors and Louis Vuitton. Most reviews are about the selling process as they give you cash on the spot for your items or in store credit. Yes, they will review your items and give a quote prior to purchasing. I find time takes about an hour however they always call me when ready. They can be a little picky however as a shopper I know I can get great stuff without digging to find it! Lately I've been shopping their online catalog and picking up in store next day. Overall I highly recommend this resale shop! read more

I have mixed feelings about this store, but I am still giving a solid 4-star review. The location is great for the west-siders, easy to get to and easy parking. Plus its next to two sandwich shops so you can always have a snack while you wait for your buy to be processed (wait times can be long). Goodwill also happens to be on the way back to 394, so you can dump your rejects from your buy and not haul it back home. I have mixed feelings because I feel like I can never find anything I want to buy, but I sell stuff all the time. Every time I have gone in I either don't like anything or won't pay the price for used clothing/accessories. However, there are a ton of options and for anyone looking to save money, this is the place to do it. They have everything, even extended sizes, and a fitting room so there is no risk of buying something you are not sure will fit or look good. Be prepared to spend some time hunting through all the racks, its not an in-and-out kinda place. They staff is always kind and informative about the buy process. They have a nice system for checking in and selling your items. Sometimes, I wonder why they don't take some of my items when you see xyz ugly purse on the shelf and you have abc cute purse in your rejected buy. But, just like anything else, taste is subjective and it depends on your buyer. I have also had two exact same items, same quality, different color and they take one but not the other. You don't get much for your items, but its better than nothing, especially when it is just taking up real estate in your closet. Also, this is not a consignment shop, you get cash on the spot. So let me start with the location itself is great. Super convenient to get to and great parking. Let me also say that I have sold and bought quite a lot of things with and from them in the past. However, the store hours are ridiculous now. They close at 6 on most weekdays so you can pretty much forget trying to go there during the week if you work days. And I think they have changed buyers within the last 2 years. I dont find much in the way of updated styles. I agree with another review here - that they seem to have decided their clientele is grandmothers. They do better with purses and shoes, but the majority of clothing is too old for me and I'm 52. I actually got more updated options at the goodwill next door. I have stopped at the Clothes Mentor in Eden Prairie a couple of times lately and found that they bought more or what I had and had more of the styles I look for. So even though this location is literally blocks from my home I will be going to EP from now on. read more

This place is great to find clothes at decent prices. You will have to hunt through many items though to find the gems. It is a hit or miss kind of place though I have gone twice and not found anything but my sister did find some things. They have some clothes too that are brand new. The tags are still on the clothing. I am shocked at what people will buy not wear and then get rid of. The staff there were very helpful and courteous too. read more

Wow....I had Maple Grove Clothes Mentor take a look at 3 bags "full" of clean, brand name, like new clothes (LuluLemon; Banana Republic; Madewell). They rejected everything. Went on FB marketplace and just sold one pair of jeans for $25. LOL :) Size 2/4 category. Can't wait to get hits on FB marketplace for the rest of the nice stuff. Do they (Clothes Mentor) not know quality, clean, newer, brand name stuff?? P.S. while I was waiting, I browsed their store and didn't see anything nicer than what they were reviewing and rejected. Not a bad store for purchasing used clothes. The staff is friendly and the store is clean. HOWEVER, it is probably not worth your time to take clothes there to sell. I went through my clothes, checked for stains, and even ironed them prior to bringing them into the clothes mentor. Out of about 25 items, they were willing to purchase 5, including a $110 sweater (bought last year and worn less than a dozen times) for $4!!!! Needless to say, I left with it and will sell it on ebay. Most people would gain more monetary benefit from donating items and claiming them on their tax returns than bothering to bring them into the clothes mentor. read more

This place is a clear scam if you are looking to sell. We dropped off 50 gently used, freshly cleaned and pressed high end pieces. Apparently they were too busy to go through them when we were there (there were three sales people standing behind the counter, so that seemed suspicious). They couldn't get to the items until the following day they said. So, we left everything there. About three hours later, we are informed that they can take 3 of the 50 items for a grand total of $16. The other items we can either pick up within 24 hours or they will be "donated." I have a hard time believing that. I think that this is their way of acquiring inventory at almost no cost. Step 1, offer very vague criteria for what will be accepted. Step 2, always be "too busy" so that customers leave their stuff there. Step 3, offer an absurdly low amount and claim that the pieces are "not seasonal." Step 4, resell whatever you want - chances are people won't return to reclaim their merchandise. Also, you have to actually go back to the store to get your cash (venmo?, apple pay? what are those?) so many people probably don't even do that. Presto! Free inventory! I'd rather the clothes be burned that have these scam artists make a single cent. read more

I really like this location. They often have a really broad selection of great quality and brands. Someone always greets you as you walk into the door and helps you get a room started as soon as they notice clothes piling up in your arms. Some items seem a bit expensive but most items are really reasonably priced. The nice part about this consignment shop is you get good quality for what you pay and you can stay within a budget. The clothes for the most part are in fantastic condition and people at the office often ask where I get my cute clothes. Also, ask for the stamp card to get more savings when you check out. read more

I dropped off a basket full of clothes yesterday and left to run errands in the attached strip mall. I came back and they selected everything but three items. I received $50 and went on my way - I was so happy as I had a little extra cash and cleaned out my closet! The staff was so friendly, walked me through the process and gave me ideas as to other types of things I could bring in. I think some folks have unrealistic expectations as to what kind of money they are going to get out of their used clothes...an item is worth only what someone will pay for it. I've tried this location twice because of the location, but am willing to drive farther to other locations (Burnsville) for the customer service. Both times, staff just doesn't talk to customers, not offered fitting room with hands full of clothes, 4 people behind the counter & heard about the employee that called in sick, made us feel like a burden than a customer. A smile from someone would have helped. They do have many clothes to choose from and racks are always full so have many options. After a couple times, I'm returning to the Burnsville location because of the customer service, attention you get, how they make you feel & prices are lower. read more

Brought in lots of quality clothes to sell. When I came back 2 hours later (they were super backed up & it took that long to look through my 2 bags), the snooty worker gave me my full bags back & said they didn't take anything because it was all too old & worn out. In there was: a dress I bought 3 months ago & only wore once because it didn't fit well, a purse I barely used for 1 year because I had other purses I used much more often, two pairs of tennis shoes (good brands, too) only worn a handful of times, & plenty of other items that were less worn out than the clothes I actually saw in the store. So basically, they just flat-out lie & don't buy things because they have poor taste. I shopped in the actual store during my 2 hour wait time, & I can see why they didn't buy any of the cute things I brought: they're only into frumpy clothes with hair & sweater pills all over them. I literally wouldn't buy anything they had in there. The people working there were gossiping loudly/rudely the whole time, & after the one gave me back my bags in a stuck-up, rude tone, she switched to a very fake-y voice to say, "Sorry about that! Have a nice day! See you next time!" Actually, there will not be a next time, because your store is a joke. read more
