So 7 months ago I stated unless serious changes were made I didn't expect them to last much longer. In the last 3-4 months I have seen the differences that were so needed. Whether it's due to changes to management/staff or ownership it's almost back to being a fun place to shop again. They update often now on both IG and FB sites, they will hold items for 24 hours now (thank you again for my LV Speedy bag!!!I love it) and it's a cleaner and more organized place to shop than it's been for the last couple years. I noticed a car right in front of the door and the Cary was running but had a little bOy inside that had opened the back window and was throwing out stuff from inside . when I entered the store there was a lady with black hair and I said listen there is a car running and there is a little boy throwing stuff out. she said Oh really and i stood there bY the counter to see what she would do and nothing was done! I'm new to the area and found this great resale place to sell some of my items that are in great condition but no longer a fit for my season of life. They have great designer items gently used--so of course I shopped, too! Clothes Mentor caters to a more sophisticated season of life than some of the other resale shops that are geared to teens. (I'm in my 40s, a working professional for reference.) I scored a beautiful linen Ann Taylor sundress, a vintage Banana Republic dress and a name brand blazer on my first trip, a lovely pair of MK work flats my second trip. I love clothes mentor in Clarksville! They put everything online so you can have it shipped, pick up in store or just have an idea of what you are looking for when you come in. They have dollar days when a whole wall of clothes is a dollar a piece. The rest of the store is usually a discount on the weekends and a really low price compared to new during the rest of the week. This store is my secret to finding great clothes for really cheap!! read more

This is the more mature, misses version of Plato's Closet. Note, I have not sold to them so this will be my shopping review. The layout is fairly simple. There's signs, so no guessing what section you're in. They carry a little bit of petites, maternity, and plus size. A notable handbag selection, though I think Dooney and Burke, Coach, and Vera Bradley are done. Also, a pretty decent jewelry selection. Their prices range sweaters $14, regular tops $8-$14 (depending upon brand) jeans were $18-$22, scarves $8-$20, and purses around $45. For whatever reason, I came across a ton of Banana Republic tops. Other brands include, Ann Taylor, Coldwater Creek, Gap, Old Navy, Eddie Bauer, IZOD, the Limited, Express, White House Black Market, etc. Why I knocked off stars: 1. On closer inspection on a lot of these items, seams were unravelling on scarves, dark foundation stains on tops, and pilling of others. Certainly not gently used and really worth the price marked. 2. They advertise they take designer items as well. The only piece I saw designer was a many seasons ago Juicy Couture zip up sweater. I suggest taking the designer items (minus the purses) putting them on a rack up front with a sign. 3. Their selection stinks. I walked out empty handed and I wasn't the only woman..several other women didn't purchase anything. I couldn't even find any basics. Their Medium selection may have been picked over or not many cute items to begin with. Also some of the clothes are pretty matronly. I found maybe one trendy wine colored top. Sadly it was pilling, so I passed. Funny thing is their staff is cutely dressed, so where's some of those tops or leggings? OVERALL: My experience on their opening night was disappointing. I'm not too thrilled I missed Vampire Diaries (ok, I DVRed it) and wasted gas. I probably won't be back unless I'm in the area for something else and need to kill some time. Now, if YOU like Banana Republic, aren't a Medium, and like flare jeans then this store may be worth it. read more

Athletic Capri for $6, Columbia compact jacket for $18 with tags still on, Sam Edelman bling flats for $6.60 and a super cute Coach demin purse for $40. read more

Tonight was my first time going into Clothes Mentor. I was absolutely blown away by their designer purse selection! And everything is priced more than reasonably :) However, the best part of my visit was the outstanding customer service provided by Amanda. She was so sweet and kind, talkative, bubbly, etc. Her overall attitude was exuding positivity. The welcoming vibe and genuine interaction is what made a lasting impression. I will definitely be back and look forward to future trips to this store. read more

I took two big bags of quality, name brand clothes to sell, all of which were still new or in like new condition. Everything that I took was a current style and the type of clothing that I would want to buy. They only accepted three items and offered me $11. I declined, as I would rather donate them than accept this paltry offer. It was a complete waste of time and I will not be back. read more

I have always found the selection to be good. Their prices on some things are a bit high, but if you know brands and prices, then you can usually find something. I very rarely walk out without purchasing something. Overall I am very happy with this store, since Plato's Closet is not my style. read more
