My friends and I stayed for quite a while. They were offering a 20% discount on your entire purchase during your birthday month. I was excited about that as my birthday is in November and spent nearly $400, which I wouldn't have done if not for the discount. I checked out, discussed the 20% off with the sales associate and was even required to show my ID as proof. I checked my receipt the next morning and realized the discount was not applied. This was Sunday and the shop didn't open until noon. We had to leave that morning to go back home out of state. I called when they opened, explained the error and was told there was nothing that could be done except give me a discount for the next time I shopped there. I don't live anywhere near Clayton. I find it hard to believe there's not a way to credit my card back the discount amount. It's a nice shop but I won't be returning with that kind of customer service.

Whereas many of the stores are full of souvenirs, Humanite sells fashionable clothing and accessories that are on trend but also classy. They also have lots of fun gift-y items. The store has pretty displays so aside from perusing the merchandise it was fun to see how they had everything styled. Upon entering from the quaint screen door it was a really nice visit and I can see how ladies of all ages would find something special here to take home with them. The staff was friendly and conveniently there is a bench inside and out for the non-shoppers.

Specifically, I am a big fan of the BC stores including BC Outdoors, BC Market on the Square and BC Bakery. Regarding Bryson City Outdoors, they are connected to a tap hours so gear on the left and beer on the right. What's not to love? If you don't love beer they have wine too! Much to my surprise, I skipped the beer and went for gear. After perusing fleece jackets, hiking shoes, headlamps and the such, I landed on a new pair of socks. Not that I needed anything but the employees were so kind I just had to support this local business somehow. Hmm, maybe I should have gotten a pint after all. Lots of good stuff and quality brands for the whole family - all nicely organized. Overall, a great place located on the corner of Main Street and Everett.
