We met a couple of times with interior designer, CeCe in the fall. She helped my wife and I design the style of shelving we wanted for eight different nooks, walk in closets and reach in closet in our home. Installation took four days based on the number of areas in the project. Ethan and Rafael did an excellent job with installing, explaining the steps and overall communication. The price was competitive, ask about authorized discounts which dropped the price by ten percent. This was significant for our large project. CeCe also had a few references for demolition which we used. Jay was excellent on disassembling and hauling away the old pieces at a very reasonable price. Based on popularity, just be aware the installation schedule is impacted. It may take a few months to be installed but it was worth the wait. read more

We recently had 3 new walk-in closets redone by Closet Factory for our home in Plymouth, CA. Our designer (Trisha Williams) was great. She really optimized the use of space for us. And she really listened to my 'needs list' to incorporate into the spaces I had. I liked her designs which she was able to show me in 3-D on computer software. And she came back a second time at my request to tweak the design for me after her original proposal. The installation crew was also great: on time, respectful of our home, and cleaned up after themselves each day. We ordered these closet organizers through Costco using our Costco credit card, so we well get our usual rebates as well as a substantial gift card to use at Costco. This was a very positive experience, and I would hire these folks for future projects. Love my new closets! read more

All of these model homes and custom built homes get to have their way with cabinetry and space that we all yearn for, but not part of the typical home. We were a bit skeptical because the cost can be astronomical but when you get a receptionist like Joyce helping make appointment easy and a consultant like Alina, who has the eyes of a true interior designer helping bring your vision to life, it truly is remarkable how easy the process is to make your house turn into your dream home. The closet turned out nice. The problem was in the design process. I worked with Trisha, who started off nice and attentive, but as details were nailed down, got more curt and sassy. As a result, I didn't bug her about detail as much as I should have, because I assumed that my questions were dumb. For example, she knew I had many high heels, we talked an about it, yet the plans called for shorter shoe spaces with no space for high heels. I didn't check the measurements on the plan so once they were installed had a rude awakening. Her response was, well you signed off on the plan. My recommendation if you use this company is double check every single measurement every step of the way. And maybe don't work with Trish if it's a complicated plan. read more

They offer a lifetime warranty. I figured that the lifetime warranty was just a gimmick to sell you something. I didn't really think they were going to honor it. I expected them to give me a hard time or claim that they have no idea who I was and I needed proof of purchase (basically try everything to not honor their warranty). 8 years later, they were still able to look me up in their system! No problem. They came out, fixed the problem and left me speechless. I'm thinking about calling them to do my new house too. read more

Last week I set an appointment through Joyce from Closet Factory out of Elk Grove for a closet design consultation. I took time off of work to make the 3:30 PM appointment. Joyce said the designer would be Cece and gave me her number. When Cece didn't show for our scheduled appointment today, I called her and she was apologetic but stated she didn't have any appointments for today. She was as confused as I am and said she would call Joyce and call me right back. Fifteen minutes later, after no call, I phoned Cece and she surprisingly asked if Joyce had called me? I said she hadn't and Cece stated that Joyce told her the appointment was canceled and that Joyce said she was going to contact me immediately. Cece offered to call Joyce at that point but I thought it would be best for me to call so I could find out why the appointment was initially canceled. I apologized to Cece for my frustration if it flowed into our conversation, because none of this made any sense?? A no call, no show and cancelled appointment. Weird! I phoned Joyce and she said that I called over the weekend and left a message to cancel my appointment for today. That never happened. I was expecting a closet designer to meet and discuss my intentions of upgrading my closet. I explained that I never called or cancelled, I was the only one aware of the appointment and I felt sorry for whoever did call and Joyce mistakenly cancelled me, rather than them. Joyce was terse and asked since I had already been in contact with Cece, if I would like to reschedule with her? I said no, and I would like to set up a new consultation for the earliest opening. Joyce scheduled me for this Saturday and said I would receive an email confirmation momentarily. 45 minutes later, still no email confirmation. So, I called another Closet Factory location and asked about the protocol when scheduling appointments. The service rep said it takes only a moment to receive the appt. confirmation via email and suggested I contact the franchisee/owner. Great advice. That said, I called Joyce AGAIN (there is only one number for this office), yet she didn't answer. It was another woman who was abrupt to the point of rudeness and cut me off as I asked to speak with someone who could help me with a consultation appointment other than Joyce. It took only a second to realize that they have caller ID and this woman said I should look for another closet company, as sometimes personalities don't always go together and she didn't think Closet Factory could meet my expectations. I asked her if she is in the customer service or scheduling department and she paused before saying yes. I also said "it appears you are familiar with my situation, so I don't need to explain the issue. She said yes and again said she couldn't meet my expectations. I asked how she would know my expectations if we hadn't yet discussed them? I had only called to schedule a closet consultation. She said "There is a personality conflict because you contacted the designer directly twice and called Joyce several times". "I'm trying to be nice here, you should find another closet company that is a better fit for you". I interjected and told her Joyce gave me Cece's number in case I needed it the day of the appointment. How else would I have her name or number? I then tried to explain how my appointment was cancelled unbeknownst to me, the only communication was initiated from me, no one had reached out regarding the cancellation or rescheduling. I was asking why I couldn't make a future consultation, just give me an explanation? This lady didn't want to hear it and kept to her script by saying, "It's best you find another closet company, we don't feel we are a good fit and that's all I want to say". I asked her if anyone had intended to contact me to cancel the upcoming Saturday appointment and she said she had planned on calling me later today. They close at 5 PM and our call was at 4:48 PM. More deception. It is obvious that Closet Factory cancelled my first appointment, had no intention of giving me advance notice, never set the second appointment yet let me think that I had a standing second appointment. I would give no stars because this is truly horrible business practices but Yelp requires minimum one star to leave a review. read more

She inventoried all of our close and items kept in the closet and then came up with the design for the closets. We are so happy with the outcome. A couple years ago I had Closest Factory do my closet, then shortly after decided to do my sons and baby on the way plus extra closet for my hubby cause I kicked him out of mine long ago. It is worth every penny if you have the cheaply built one shelf closets that a lot of houses have. Admittedly I am a shopaholic so we all have way too much clothes, etc, but realistically those closets are such a waste of space. The organization the Closet Factory can provide is amazing. Fast forward to this year, I decided my laundry room being the bane of my existence would be no more, and decided to do away with the pointless too high cabinets over my washer and dryer and do a built in reachable shelf there, plus a floor to ceiling built in cabinet with shelves and built in hampers. When I set out to find a closet system company it was a little overwhelming because there were so many choices. I eventually got bids from three companies. One company wanted to operate over the internet, so I decided against them. The other two, one of which was the Closet Factory, came to my home, measured the new closet space, and showed me the material choices and various options. I worked closely with both designers, but in the end, I chose the Closet Factory for three reasons: 1. The designer, Cindy Feist, listened to what I wanted and designed a system to accommodate our needs. She made thoughtful suggestions and created several versions until I was happy with the design. She did not rush through the design process, and she did not pressure me or try to "upsell" me. 2. The designer created a design which maximized every inch of the closet with no wasted space. (The other company was not able to provide as much useable space because their system was not as customizable.) The system itself had the largest drawer capacity for the dresser area. (The other company had "standard" size drawers which wasted space.) 3. The company is family-owned and doesn't subcontract their work. The closet system was installed over a two-day period where it was assembled on site. It was a perfect fit, and it came out beautifully. It looked exactly like my design drawings and there were no surprises. The installers were very polite and considerate while on site. The cleaned up their work area, and even mopped the hardwood floor in the closet when they were done. The hauled all their debris and left nothing behind. I am happy to recommend the Closet Factory. They have a lot of options from basic to deluxe, and everything in between. Their service was very responsive. When they had an appointment, they showed up on time. I booked with this company because if the lovely woman that was behind the table at a home show. The product that we received was not the quality that I thought I was paying for. We created a space for the master closet and my daughters closet. Neither of the closets were what I asked for or spoke about. The space was not used as sufficiently as it could and should have been used. I the drawer pulls I provided for them were put on the wrong drawers. I had to order more pulls to have sent to them to finish the drawers. They also needed to come back to reinstall some bars and shelving that was not installed to day of the initial install. No one called me to let me know when this would be happening. One of their installers came to my house on a Friday evening (we were not home), rang the doorbell and, because we weren't home, left the shelves and bars at my front door. When I called during business hours to find out when someone was going to come back, she told me that everything is adjustable and I will have to install and adjust things myself. I paid $7,500 for 2 closets that I am not satisfied with in the least. If you choose to use this company, PLEASE make sure that you are a part of the whole process and not to let them leave until the job is done to your satisfaction. I was told (while a different designer came to my house than the one I was originally working with) that they would make this right and do what it took to make this the space it was intended to be....that DID NOT happen. The Closet Factory nightmare: Dates promised that never materialized ( they said they would fit me in sooner but it has taken more than eleven weeks and it still isn't done); repeated poor customer service and delayed responses (being blown off, sometimes by more than a week) via email, text and phone calls; inaccurate designs (missing parts, inches to metric conversions that were wrong, designs their own workers could not follow, designer did not make corrections after we emailed so the final plans were wrong, etc.); workers that didn't protect the carpet; workers that damaged my door and walls (significant enough that I had to have someone else fix it); damage done to the parts that were moved; work that was of poor quality - shelves that don't quite fit; rod that doesn't fit; drawers that don't quite line up, etc.; workers that did not even correctly follow the inaccurate design plans that were there (placing drawers in the wrong spot, not adding enough shelves, etc.); and overcharging for their mistakes. The quote was for 8 hours for one person to re-assemble three closets (made by Closet Factory and recently moved to a new house). Problem - they sent two people and after over 8 hours they didn't even finish one closet. They were following Closet Factory's own inaccurate designs and parts missing were missing (they lost a couple of drawer glides and they didn't bring the right parts - shelves and panels). What a mess. After all of that time they still left NO closet in my house functional. The company will not take responsibility for their mistakes and are trying to pass their design errors, and the labor cost that resulted from their errors, onto me, the customer. They are saying it will take 10 hours or so to finish! Ten hours is more than the original quote! They quoted $720 for the work. They want to keep going until they can charge $2340. I think this is a scam. It is stressful enough to move. It is stressful enough not to be able to find things or put things away for three months while living out of suitcases and boxes, but this is ridiculous. Closet Factory took longer than promised to start, they are tripling the time they quoted, nothing is finished, the work is poor quality, they damaged my house, and they are trying to take advantage by overcharging me for Their mistakes, .... Spare yourselves, go elsewhere! read more

The beginning was good, a designer came over and discussed what I wanted for my large walk in closet, she was very excited to help me with my project. They had product that matched my bathroom perfect, the drawings were amazing. I was thrilled and excited for my new closet. Signed the contract, they kept me in loop during the build sent me pictures, awesome. Day 1 of 2 day install, 3 men show up 2 men were nice but honestly had no clue what they were doing, not even sure how they were able to tie their own shoes. The third man ran the show, nice guy very talented. They start bringing in product, that's when I have my first panic attack! It's the wrong color of wood! I call designer no answer I text no reply I call office get no answer leave a ton of panic voice mails! Long story short. Because I'm not a designer or in this business in the paper work they switched the names which they call all the wood sunshine this or happy that I mean really anyways I guess they switched I agreed which if I knew I wouldn't have because I wanted it to match!!! So I am stuck do they care no, half of their design ideas and promises didn't even work from paper to reality! They cashed my checks and ran out the door leaving a mess and a closet that is 5 different wood colors!! Not what I wanted or was promised! The design was exactly what I asked for with the exception of two recommendations made, one regarding the hamper addition and a mirror behind the drawers. Both additions add so much to the closet.
