I'll say it's a fair/standard price, not a rip off, but not cheap either. They "brush" your boot clean as a service, but they do not "polish" it. There's a difference. If you want your boot "polished" eg. creams etc., it'll be £15 extra. The "While-U-Wait" might be for keys or something small, because when I asked if I could wait for my boots, they said they were busy and wouldn't be ready till closing time that day. I thought that was okay, at least it was ready same day. My boots looks clean and the replacement heels looks like a good job. *Credit card charge is £10 minumum

The attention to detail is second to none. My shoes always come back looking better than when I drop them off, because they not only do a wonderful job with the resoling, but will also make good nicks in the heel shaft of high heels. The prices are comparable to elsewhere, but the sole and heel repairs are beautifully done and last longer than when I have them done elsewhere. Seriously. I have also had heels on a pair of boots totally replaced by them. It is the only cobblers that I recommend. For the skeptics out there, I trust only them with my good (Louboutins, Choos, Manolos), as well as my not so good, shoes. They also have the red rubber soles that match Louboutins. The average repair takes about 4 days, which seems a lifetime in this day and age, but they can do it more quickly at special request. The staff have not changed in years and whilst they are not the friendliest bunch, and opening hours are near on archaic, this is a small scale local business that does what it does really well.

A great word in itself, exuding a reassuring old-world charm, but for some reason very rarely found as the name for shoe repair shops these days. So their adoption of this word as their name is something to be loudly celebrated. Second, there's the staff themselves. One, a can-do, straight-talking Londoner. The other, a veteran craftsman with a well-worn apron that alone wins your confidence. Both friendly, helpful, honest. Thirdly, there's the workmanship. First-rate. I came here to have half-leather soles put on to my shoes and the result looked better than when I bought the shoes in the first place. Fourthly, there's the prices.
