As a former employee, I can say that, IN MY OPINION, they are the most backwards, unprofessional, unethical, etc. I could write a novel about why this place should be avoided but, I will give you 3 highlights and allow you to decide for yourself. 1) I was given a computer that did not have any of the 12 apps that I would need to do a job that I would never be trained to do. When asked for help, I was told to contact my equal at another branch. I was told by that person that I was lying and lazy because I was not able to learn/do anything because she did not believe me when I told her about the pc/app situation. When I approached the branch manager, he said something to the effect of; Yeah, she is not very helpful. Just do your best. 2) Similar to the previous situation, I was not trained to do the job. I was, eventually able to get the apps, shown 1 time (took notes) at a very fast, unreasonable pace, on how to do each task. The branch manager was clueless. He told me to contact the regional controller (his wife who worked for the managing company). She kept apologizing for not training me. Even though, she/they lived about 5 miles or so away. She also told me not to contact ANY of the managing company because they were too busy. To spite all of those hurdles, I learned my job and did it damn good. I was teaching people how to do the tasks that I had to learn myself. 3) In vague details, the branch needed to come up with the salary difference for a "Rock Star" candidate. In the month between his first interview up through the point when he would begin (approx. a month), it seemed that everything I did, as I had been doing it, became wrong. The branch manager's wife (controller) became vicious with me. Ripping me on anything that I did. The branch manager became sheepish. Making excuses for her behavior, even though I had been told, ipso facto, he knew what she was doing. They broke me. I was complaining to the assistant controller via G Meets, all of the sudden, HR wants to talk to me. Everything I said and more was relayed to them, in deceptive and misleading ways. I was fired. About a week after, the position I was in, was advertised on Indeed, as a part time position and the salary was reduced by EXACLTY how much they needed to come up with for the new "rock star". They simply could have asked me if I was willing to change to part time. Regardless, for some odd reason, I am not able to get a position (identical to that one). This company does an excellent job with landscaping. The management team fulfills all contractual requirements in a timely manner. They proactively tour the property and identify areas that enhance the overall beauty of the property. The crews and equipment always have a professional appearance and the employees seem to take pride in their work. read more

I have a townhouse condo and Clippers comes once a week. If you have any business calls or need to do work that requires concentration on the day they come, good luck with that! Clippers uses what must be the loudest collection of landscaping tools ever created. What's more, the crews will take at least four hours to do what they need to do before they're done so, yes, you WILL be listening to ear-splitting leaf blowers and other equipment all day. Why on earth they can't just do what they need to do (cut, trim, blow) and move on after an hour or so is beyond me. It's not like we even have much grass on our community property. Bring this to the attention of Clippers management and you get a collective shrug -- if anyone bothers to respond at all. read more

This company does a poor job mowing and snow removal every year. No excuse. Now and leave our community without cleaning up. And sometimes don't show up for weeks after grass has grown so high. Come to mow and miss huge open areas everywhere. Snow removal. Knowing more than 20+ inches is coming a week out and show up with pickup with a blade. Ummm. Preparation is not good. Where are the front loaders and bulldozers? Donot recommend. read more

These guys bought Aquatech Irrigation, which was a great company run by a single guy. Before they were sold, we had our irrigation system installed by them and serviced every year - no complaints, very responsive. Once they were purchased and brought under the Clippers umbrella, everything changed. We first received a contract that said we had to agree to a year maintenance contract, which included things other than the standard start up and shutdown. When I called about that they said it was a mistake, and we did not need to sign this contract to get them to service our system. After a couple weeks of waiting, they finally were able to schedule an appointment for me, a couple weeks in the future. They came out, were nice enough, and got the system going. No problems. About halfway throught the season one of my sprinkler heads started leaking. I called and they told me I needed to talk to Vance, who had been the one who earlier had taken weeks to get back to me about startup. I never heard back, called again, noting. I finally called one of my neighbors services who fixed it quickly and cheaply. Because the new company was so good, I asked them if they would do my winterization when they did my neighbors. They agreed, and I was down with Clippers/Aquatech (or so I thought). In October a person I had never talked to left a message on my phone from Aquatech saying he was ready to perform my winterization, and to call him to set up a time. I ignored it. While I was gone on a business trip the next week this guy showed up at our door and told my wife that he and I spoke and he was here to perform the scheduled winterization. Not knowing any differently, my wife said fine and he did it. I did not know they had done anything until the new company came by to perform winterization and they said it had been done. A couple weeks later I got the bill from Clippers, and I realized what had happened. When I called to question what happened, (late October) I was told that Vance would call me back. Fast Forward three months. No call from Vance, but another bill showed up. Called again and Vance was in the office. He came on the line with a curt 'what can i do for you', and I explained that they had prformed a service without my authorization and I did not want to pay. He said that they were authorized to do it because I signed a contract authorizing them. I told him to just send me a copy of my signed contract, because I did not believe I signed anything. He said "Well, if you want to get UGLY about this then I will go in my files and do just that". In between all this I said I didn't want them to service my system because of the general lack of response I had gotten from them, which he disputed. When I told him that I had waited three months for him to call me back, he essentially called me a liar. He hung up after saying he would fax me a copy - without getting my fax number. A few minutes later he called, unfortunately I missed it, and said they would take care of the bill. Clippers is focused on commerical landscaping - they have no interest or ability in working with residences. I see their trucks in my neighborhood every day, performing commercial services for our HOA, so it is not like there would be a problem communicating or I lived in some far away place that they just don't want to be bothered with. My advice - go with someone who knows how to service residential areas, and avoid these guys at all costs. read more

If you want to depend on this company for snow removal do not do it! This is the second time in 3 weeks they have not showed up to plow the streets in our neighborhood. 5 of us on our cul-de-sac missed work because this company can't or won't get enough people on the road to do the work they are paid to do! No professional plow company would have problems taking care of this small neighborhood. This is not a company I would ever refer friends or family to use ever! There is no excuse ! read more
