Shocking treatment at the emergency. Rude nurse and doctor. My husband left with a broken nose and wasn't even told! AVOID Delta hospital.

Delta Chirec - Slightly worrying when they can't spell 'Emergency'

I survived surgery here so it's definitely not a one star review:)…read moreI had gastric surgery here. And stayed just the one night. I paid for it out of pocket which is no problem what so ever as the cost was a fraction of the cost in the USA. Two hassles were the check in. You take a number & wait. Lots of people are checking in at the same time so there is a fair amount of waiting. Second is that I'm a fat git. Thus it was somewhat embarrassing trying to fit their gown on. They had to search long & hard to get a gown that fitted. The care was great, apart from the endless Melba toast that I was force fed to prevent nausea. Whilst the kid in the next bed was given ice cream. I'm all sorted now... so yeah three stars!

Oh yes the place there I was supposed to get a CT scan. The person operating the scanner was also…read morethe person who injected the dye into my arm. However she didn't do the simple procedure correctly and my arm swelled to twice it's normal size. No hyperbole needed. Thus panic set in and she ran off to get her supervisor or whatever the medical term is... consultant? They came rushing in & in broken English asked if I was in pain. Brown pants time! X-rays and a massage was required to removed the excess fluid, which simply should have been under a more watchful eye. Pain and discomfort for a few days. In America there would be a law suit filed. Here they simply racked it up as just another error.

Horrid experience with the emergency unit. For your sake stay away from this wrecking institution…read more I arrived there at 11:05 AM, week time, because of a chest pain (afraid of miniinfarctus). My husband arrived 15 min later. At 12:20 we were still waiting even if I had only 3 persons in front of me. To make it clear: I waited more than 1:15 H only for the....registration, not for the treatment ! After the admission I was abandoned on a bed, no doctor came (I swear it) only a nurse with a fresh student who practiced her first injection on me. Three hours and a half later because nobody came, even if I insisted to bee seen, And I was still feeling bad, I decided to call a taxi and went to another hospital. I filled in a "malpraxis" case and I am now exchanging e-mails with the hospital's moderator as a preliminary phase for the legal phase, before the court. Please believe me, you may risk your life going there for emergency services.

I am beyond disappointed…read more I had booked this important medical appointment over 2 MONTHS ago, organized my entire trip around it--including flights and a hotel stay--only to be informed at the last minute, just as I was leaving the hotel, that the doctor was not available. This is supposed to be a hospital, not some casual business. A hospital that deals with people's health, people who are traveling, hoping to get help. And cancel last minute with no warning, no backup plan, no respect for the time, money, and effort someone invested to be here? This is not just unprofessional, it's shameful. It shows a total lack of organization, zero care for patients, and complete disregard for human lives. After this experience, I wouldn't trust this hospital with a paper cut. It is unbelievable! It is unprofessional, disrespectful and irresponsible!

I have been to the ER at St-Luc twice, once for me and once with a family member. A new emergency…read moreunit opened in early 2014, and it does look quite nice. Beyond the veneer, however, the service does not live to one's expectations about Belgium's most famous hospital. I am not sure if the ER is badly understaffed or if the doctors and nurses just don't feel like working, but the waiting time is unworthy of an emergency service. In fact I would rather think that the staff is not inclined to take care of patients promptly because when after two hours of waiting in a little room without window I went to look after someone, there were plenty of doctors chatting or just sitting at their desk doing nothing. One one occasion I asked to make a phone call to tell my relatives we were at the ER as my phone battery had died, but they refused to let me use their phone. I told me I could pay for the call, but to no avail. They were completely stubborn and unhelpful. The quality of the treatment was ok, although unimpressive for a top-rated hospital.
