When i arrived at the New York office I almost dry heaved because of the smell which I can only describe as a medley between rubbing alcohol and human crap.. The staff handing my initial blood pressure looked very young and unqualified--there was like 5 of them, not a single one looking older than 18 years old. I felt as if I was part of some kind of experiential health training program for high school kids.. anyway, for whatever reason the kid taking my BPM was doing it sans machine: trying to count my BPM with his fingers on my wrist. Then the "doctor" came into the room. A zombie esque south asian woman with air of superiority that didn't even acknowledge me or hello when she walked in She looked at the clipboard where the GenZ clown car recorded my vitals and it was determined that everything had to be retaken.. After doing it once with the cuff, the doctor determined my blood pressure was too high. I was assured I'd be reimbursed for travel.. By the time i left the office I felt nauseous dealing with these people. When I called the office to inquire about my travel reimbursement, I got the runaround..They ended stiffing me on the travel and i was straight up lied to by Eileen, one of their patient coordinators. I don't understand the negative comments here against Clinilabs. When I went there, I was treated with kindness and respect by the doctor and the rest of the medical staff. My guest is that people don't understand that not all research studies are qualified for them. I was paid immediately after my one day study was over. Yes, I am definitely a satisfied participant. In the Non-Invasive Wrist Worn Device to Measure Sleep Quality they were scheduling for in Aug and Sept 2023, they canceled my screening the morning of the screening- TWICE (once when it was originally scheduled and again when I was rescheduled). Even before when the screenings were supposed to happen, they didn't have the check in and check out times; I was told that they would have those at the screening. Participants were simply expected to work our schedules and lives around what was convenient for Clinilabs, with no notice of when the actual study would take place given. There was a study earlier this year where I arrived at the screening, and was told then that I was ineligible for the study; and I didn't even start the screening. They should have verified that before wasting my time; but that would have been too considerate and respectful of them. A study before that, they canceled my screening only a day before it was scheduled. Clinilabs used to be good, but now they have no respect for study participants. Dr. Gary Zammit, Clinilabs President and CEO, you and your organization are garbage. Any misery and suffering you experience in this life (or after it) is well deserved. read more

Clinilabs does very interesting work. I had the chance to participate in one of their studies last week in their Hell's Kitchen office. They are extremely professional and extremely thorough. I referred a friend last month for a study and he failed their physical. They found an issue with his heart, thus disqualifying him for the study, but potentially saving his life. The only issue I have with Clinilabs is their Referral program. It's extremely difficult to get paid when you refer a friend. You have to constantly call them. One recruiter told me for 6 weeks that she didn't have time to search for my referrals. read more

My initial impression was that of a disorganized operation. I was called the morning of my appointment (that had been confirmed several times) to ask if I could come in about 3 hours earlier due to some staff-related issues. When I arrived at the facility I stepped off the elevator to no reception area, no signs, no one to talk to except someone who happened to be sitting on a couch. I had no idea who he was but he had access to one of the locked doors and had someone come out to help me. I noticed that a rolling gate that had closed off the reception area was lifted once I entered the office. The interior space is a vast maze of mostly dimly lit empty rooms, sparsely furnished with folding chairs, folding tables, and beds. I've never taken part in a clinical trial so I did not know what to expect in a clinical lab facility. I briefly thought about leaving but changed my mind after meeting several staff members who were kind, courteous, professional, and reassuring throughout the screening and study procedures. I was paid as promised at the end of the process. I would feel comfortable returning to this facility if another trial interested me. read more

I was surprised with everything it was also very clean they jus need their soap dispensers working and I also didn't like the little bit of money I made thought I would be getting paid more money so a little disappointed with that and I thought I would be receiving checks not a card but overall it was good. read more

Dirty facility. They call you several times and send texts, emails to remind you of your specific appointment and when you get there the keep you waiting for hours. Floors look like they have not been vacuumed in a long time. I have up and left. read more

I was referred to this facility by my cardiologist. After confirming my appointment the day of the appt. I received a phone call to confirm the appointment. The rooms look like a cheap motel and the walls are thin. While waiting for the tech to make me into a circuit board, everyone that passed my room would look in. I was starting to feel like a fish in a bowl. Finally, after being plugged up and ready to drift off to sleep I could hear the "techs'" conversations and chairs sliding across the floor of the observation room. Then either one of the machines kept malfunctioning or I am very close to dying, but alarms kept going off in my room every 15 - 30 minutes. They finally moved me and my belongings to another room. Everything seemed fine for about 4 hours then the alarms started again. (Now I am convinced that I am close to death). Everything else went according as planned until it was time to leave. There was no personnel in sight to actually let me out of "The Bates". Finally a staff member was walking by and I asked her to let me out. She asked me to wait by the door while she checked on her "patient". After a minute I went backed to her to ask her to open the door again. Apparently I wasn't going to be let out until she finished her final consultation. So I walked off looking for someone else to open the door so that I could leave... ghost town. Finally asked another woman that worked there and she called out to the 1st snotty "consultant " to see if I was her patient. Oh by now she was ready to release me. While following her to the door I heard my tech's voice come from nowhere to say goodbye. (Where was he when I wanted to leave?) He was a very courteous guy. I'm just glad it's over. I hope I do not have to do that again. If so, I will look into using another facility. Oh forgot to mention the Wi-Fi didn't work either. It didn't work the 1st time either. So confirm before checking into the motel to save you the trouble of lugging in your laptop. read more

Recently participated in a study with this lab. There were many problematic issues - no callbacks, improper forms, vague quality assurance, poor record keeping and no confirmed appointments. Both front staff and administrators showed poor professionalism and ethics dealing with clinical patients. A lead researcher at Mt. Sinai expressed their reservations about Clinilabs and I could see why. I would not recommend this facility to people seeking medically necessary treatment, evaluations or testing. Since healthy volunteers would not be bothered by these issues, the review is two stars. read more

This is my 2nd time doing a study at this Ny location at Clini labs. I love it here, and the staff are very Attentive and Nice! Like Dr.Alla hope I spelled it right lol Dr Ahmad, and Dr.Jim also the techs are Awesome Shawna and I forgot the other names but the rest of the ladies and gents always made my stay so welcoming. The housekeeping staff are very friendly and always helpful. I'm a pescratarian and Dr.Alla went above and beyond to make sure I had a pescratarian diet! Breakfast,lunch,dinner was Awesome I love her for that. I have referred my friends and family and they all feel the same way! They work hard to keep the participants happy. When you hear they have a study going on I suggest you go screen and hope you get in (like I do :))so you can experience the warmth, friendliness and professionalism I felt throughout my entire 4wk stay! I recently met with Dr. Lund, medical director of the sleep disorders clinic. I found him to be warm attentive and thorough. I then met with Pinky who was a delight. She fitted me with CPAP mask and processed my paperwork on an expedited basis so that I could have my equipment immediately. These people truly go the extra mile. The one improvement I would suggest is to the reception staff. When I arrived the receptionist was in a brutal argument with her boyfriend on the phone. The conversation was clearly audible to everyone in the waiting room. She should've been speaking from a private area or taken it out to the street where such conversations belong. read more

I previously reviewed this facility on 12/9/2013. Apparently they have upgraded the waiting room since then (I'm happy to have had an impact), but virtually all of the other problems remain. I have no axe to grind, no ulterior motives. I just feel people should know what they are getting into if they sign up with Clinilabs. Please check my previous review for more details. Incidentally, I don't buy their argument that patients all have wear color-coded surgical scrubs to avoid getting soiled, e.g. from a blood test. I have had countless blood tests in doctors' offices over the years, always in my regular clothing. A simple color coded wristband, like the patient IDs in hospitals (which handle countless patients), would be effectively identify patients without dehumanizing them. read more

I was treated badly here and got bedbugs. Additionally, I had bad side effects from the drugs that I was given and was not adequately paid.

I filled out a questionnaire online about possibly taking part in a depression study at Clinilabs. Two days later I received a polite voicemail requesting me to call back and answer a few questions in regard to a study. I called back and I was rudely told that they were not looking for anybody and that no one had called me, then the woman said goodbye and hung up before I could explain. It really upset me to be treated so rudely by a medical establishment where I was only trying to volunteer my time to help with one of their studies. I felt that the woman was calling me a liar simply for returning their call. read more
