Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa - Comfortable bed

Unfortunate for Ojo Caliente. Whereas many of the past guests rated it poorly (the current rating…read moreof this place is only 3.5 stars as of April 2026), I, fortunately, had a wonderful experience at this one of the oldest health spas in the country. From the stretch (yoga class before soaking) to soaking in 8 different pools to dining at the resort restaurant to shopping in the gift shop, everything exceeded my expectations where the only proper thing to do is to give it a perfect 5-star review. I bought the "soak and stretch" combo thing with 90-minute yoga class in a yurt. I paid the weekend pricing ($85) as I went here on a Sunday but it was all worth it as it turned out, I was the ONLY student in the class so I had an intimate 1-on-1 session with Julie, my instructor who made the class level so easy for me. It was also my first time to attend a yoga class in a yurt, certainly one-of-a-kind opportunity that I had never experienced in the past. A few pools were closed (one of them was the arsenic one), having access to 8 pools was plenty. My favorites were Soda pool (inclosed/covered) and Mud pool but frankly all pools have their own unique "healing" elements to them whereby immersing your whole body in them patiently, you will become a whole new person inside out. The locker rooms/showers/toilets etc. (in short, amenities) were all well-maintained and clean. The beach chairs were plenty throughout the resort. When not soaking, relax in one of them by simply sunbathing or do some reading. The surrounding environment is also a healing element to your eyes and mind. After soaking, head to the restaurant/wine bar for a nice meal (which I did. After yoga stretching and soaking in different pools, I sure was famished). My waiter, Jacob, was most polite and attentive to my needs. The Grilled Ruby Trout with a bed of wild rice is what I ordered and I cannot recommend it enough. This is a must-get item off the menu. A glass of Justin (red) wine ended up being a fantastic choice to accompany my meal. After my quick meal, I headed to the gift shop for a little souvenir. I got me one of the branded crop top tees (only $22 or so) to commemorate my visit to the resort for the first time (I had waited for almost 10 years before I could finally visit Ojo; it was simply way too long of a wait.) The final little thing I did was to walk around the property to take some awesome photos of the surrounding nature. Ojo's setting is simply breathtaking and spectacular. My trip to Taos area was too short. Had I had one more day, I would have done an all-day soaking, not just several hours. That is my only regret. Back in the hustle bustle life in Denver, I am already in need for another good soaking. I could go back to Ojo by tomorrow.

Although we didn't stay at the hotel, we went to The Springs Resort everyday we were in town. An afternoon soak was just what our muscles needed after spending the day on the slopes. We relaxed, shared stories and laughs while sipping tasty wellness drinks ("shroom shrubs") and cocktails in the healing hot springs. The outstanding service really elevated our experience. Our server, Matthew was exceedingly friendly and attentive. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed--including food and drink, took a few group photos, and even let gave us tips as to what springs were best for watching the sunset. Our server Micaela was also excellent, joking with us and making us feel spoiled! I would recommend visiting The Springs in Pagosa to anyone! It was a wonderful way to unwind & catch up, in the relaxing springs while surrounded by beautiful nature! #goodvibes #warmestregards #thesprings

Savannah at front desk is rude and probably thinks it's her house. She knows what happened. Not very sure on returning but the soak was great. Employees are obviously with a toxic management since you can see them not courteous and acknowledging. Will probably not come back as it is overpriced for a quality of 50%. $1000 for a 2 day is robbing you blind with a very low quality room and service.

Typical 15 min timer), tiny cold plunge, full bathroom (toilet, sink, shower) AND a private Sauna. Small indoor bed for rest with a big jar of ice water. On top of the indoor bed, it came with plenty of towels and slippers. It was private enough that we felt safe to be nude in the private space. We absolutely enjoyed the time here. Love the hot spring water. Love the sauna. The cold plunge is doing its thing. The view is soothing and you can smell the wood burning smell in the air. Somehow, it was incredibly grounding. When your 90 min is up. They give you a nice notice from the intercom. We went out shortly after and spend some time shopping at the gift store. Then walked over to the restaurant for our reservation. We would like to stay overnight here next time we are in town. There is no signal here and takes about 99 stairs to go up to the spa. They should take resort out of the name. Having traveled plenty abroad and domestically this place…read morefelt like a motel 6 at high prices. I paid around $300/night for a room that was in need of a lot of TLC (see pics). Motel 6 might be nicer???? I mean it's been a while since I frequented one of those for a high school party?!?!? The heat was horrible. Our room was so hot! We had the 1970's unit turned off but the room stayed tundra hot. We had maintence come one day 2. After all of one minute he said IDK and left??? We had a box fan on high the entire time as well as windows open when it felt okay (the car exhaust from the parking lot prohibited that at times. There was zero security. None of the rooms on the left side (when facing the place) on the "resort" were locked. I take that back. One was locked but only because it was broken and wouldn't open at all (door 2). This place will nickel and dime you to death! Food and drink is ridiculous. $4-5/soda, $18-$20 for chicken nuggets or burger with fries (my kids told me their school food was better?!?!?). And lose the keycard...that's $35 for each lost key. My kids held on to those with their lives!!! And the keycards barely worked. I stopped counting the number of times we had to the keycards rekeyed. Ugh. The pool and hot tub are surrounded by slippery tile. Super smart?!?!? And my youngest kid got a rash from the hot tub. Thank goodness Ed's I had hydrocortisone cream. When the bubbles aren't going the hot tub is cloudy. Ick! And if you want to talk to management. Good luck! You'll have to EMAIL to talk to them. The boots I rented sliced my shins all to hell after one hour ski school. The rental place tried to blame it on my attire (having more than my socks in the boot). Nope, I watched the Angel Fire video on what to wear. I never got a sorry. Here's a free $5 soda on us. NOTHING. And the final item that secured us take time out of my day to write this review. I was waiting on someone to back out of a parking sport at El Jefe to eat. A surfer looking dude told me to move cause I was holding up traffic. I pointed the the car pulling out. He said he didn't care. As I'm old and give zero eeffs...I sat there and waited. After looking at the menu we didn't eat there. So I could have saved myself the heartache. But man...the staff. So the staff...a good portion are drifters from hotel to hotel during the season. A lot sound like CHEECH. Most don't give any thought to your experience or satisfaction, with the exception of the ski instructors. I will said Daniel was the bees knees!!! And after hours the staff like to hang at the overpriced diners onsite and talk about their hippie beliefs such as queerness and Trump. As if my kids need to hear any of that? As if I care??? And maybe I'd like a seat at the bar, but there weren't any due to the staff. David- your bias is showing. I didn't say anything about anyone's ethnicity or politics. I said keep the staff's political views away from my KIDS. The staff talked about THEIR political beliefs in guest spaces. I could not care less what the staff think politically. I do care if my 11 & 13 yo have to hear it at dinner in the only restaurant open for dinner inside the lodge. I also didn't say anything about ethnicity. But since you bring it up...the folks I interacted with were all white. I was pointing out they all seem like stoners. The part about roaming from resort to resort was a topic I asked the 6 staffers sitting at the bar while waiting on my family to arrive so I could move to a table. I specifically asked how they started working at Angel Fire. Those are their words. I went ahead and changed my stats to a 1 based on your response.
